[Q] Phone won't forget Wi-FI network - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Trying to forget a Wi-Fi network, but after a while it will automatically connect to it again. I can see that it worked to forget it. I'm guessing it's syncing the wi-fi password from a backup. The only solution I can think of is to disable syncing but that's not acceptable.
Using ARHD rom (sense 6).

I have the same problem .
I had turned off "Back up my data" in Backup & Reset and "Auto sync" in Account & sync . Then FORGET these Wifi , but after a while my device auto try to connect these wifi which has "saved" status. It blocks me from connecting to the valid one instead.
Any one help me please ?
My device is not rooted , fimware android version 5.0.2

[Q] Backup wifi settings

Hi guys,
as the LEAP wifi connection works as harm on 4.1.2 and stop working on 4.3 (I know the reason - the field user certificate is missing on wifi setting window), I would like to firstly install 4.1.2 on my xperia sp and set up the wifi (user certificate, password, etc). Ater that, using pc upgrade
the android to 4.3. It keeps my wifi settings, so it keep connecting.
But when I'm trying to unlock bootloader, I lost all settings.
Is it possible to restore the settings, from file? Which file is responsible for that?
Is that /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf file? Enough to keep it and restore it after unlock bootloader?
best regards
M.

[Q] [PROBLEM] 4X does not connect to WiFi under WEP

Hi. Not sure if this is the right place to post but as I am using this ROM, Cannot post in the corresponding ROM forum - not enough privileges.
I would like ask for your help. I have an LG-P880 running Android 4.4.2 with LiquidSmooth LS-KK-v3.0-2014-02-12, Kernel: 3.1.10-CM+(2014-102-12). After flashing the ROM, the phone does not connect to WiFi with WEP. I choose the WiFi connection, enter the key (yes, the key is correct, tried few times), the phone tries to connect but then only says "Saved, secured with WEP" and never "connected". I searched through many forums for a solution. Seems like many models have a similar problem but couldn't find the descriptio for my phone or for this ROM. Most of solutions are as follows:
Wrong key (not my case)
Nulled IMEI - insert new value (not my case)
Change device name in WiFi direct - for HTC One (not my case)
Set correct time, date and zone as it may affect WiFi (all correct)
Some Kernel drivers don't support old WEP protection (could be the case)
I installed WiFi Fixer app. In debug mode it says the following:
Connecting to:"<provider name>"
Supplicant State: ASSOCIATING
Supplicant State: DISCONNECTED
and it goes on like this over and over.
Please note that it connects fine to other networks protected with WPA and WPA2. Some advise to reprogram the router - impossible in my case as it is the company's office and I don't have access to the router/server.
Yes, I wiped cache, dalvik and did factory reset couple of times - the problem remains.
I really like this ROM and don't want to move another, so please advise.
Has anyone experienced this on 4X? Any advice? If it's the problem with the kernel, which drivers would you recommend me to upgrade to?
Its already been stated that support for wep has been dropped for a while due to security. Only other way is to change the security type or go with an old version of android
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
or grab werewolf kernel, it (still) has support for wep afaik, just make sure to find anykernel installer
Thank you, guys. I was almost sure it's because of kernel. guess I just needed some one to confirm it to me.

[Q] wifi problem with Resurrection Remix®v5.0.8

I would say that Resurrection Remix® 4.4.2 KitKat v5.0.8 is one of the best ROM made for our i9305, it is My favorite actually. But there is only one problem that bothers me alot, and that's the WiFi that is connected but no internet access. I always have to reboot my mobile wifi device just to reconnect again and it never happens in the other ROM that I've use, only with this one. I have also seen this problem being ask in the thread but no answer was given. I would like to ask if it is a bug or somewhat, because it is not only me who is having this problem. I would be delighted if some would help me with this.
And also I have actually followed all the instruction in how to install the ROM. I am also using latest cwm recovery.
wifi isnt working
same problem here ;(
Solved
I was facing the same problem.
Actually, this problem is related to DNS settings so, I changed network settings and set the DNS manually.
Go To settings -> wifi -> (long press) your wifi SSID -> modify network -> (check) show advanced options and now set the DNS1 and DNS2 fields according to the wifi network you are using.
One temporary solution is: connect to your wifi network and use Psiphon (tunneling app).

I too had this problem... While entering password for Wi-Fi.... Just set the IP to Static and enter the respective details like IP,DNS1 and DNS2 and Gateway... You are good to go..

Trouble on wifi. Will this fix it?

Hi. So, I just got a Samsung S3 GT-I9305 from Vodacom. Got it from eBay. But, I'm having trouble connecting to the wifi. Whenever I connect to the wifi it always says "Authentication error occurred". I turned off the wifi thingy using *#0011# and wiped the cache, I even reset the phone to its factory settings. I sometimes connect to a wifi, but it takes 1 hour or so before being connected. And I have trouble downloading from the playstore. Did everything I could find from the web. No luck.
So, I was thinking, If I would flash a custom rom to my device, will it fix the wifi issue? And would any stock firmware of the I9305 device work?
Thanks! Sorry for being noob.

Hi,
I think it could be a router issue. You should :
- reset your router and retry to connect with your i9305,
- play with WIFI network settings in router. Maybe something doesn't allow your i9305 connection (network type, firewall, etc.). I'm not an expert in router settings, so you could google this to help you.
- try another WIFI network (from a friend, at work, anywhere you can test )
I think that flashing a custom ROM won't change anything. First try to fix your problem with stock firmware.

Wifi module broken - cannot add google accounts with Lineage 14

Hi there,
I still want to use my old Thor HDX7, but the Wifi is broken.
I can use Internet via bluetooth (tethtering), but not via Wifi.
My problem:
I have installed CM/Lineage 14 with Android 7.1
I have also tried installing several version of Gapps.
Installation run successfully, but there are no Google Apps after restarting from recovery.
I suppose the problem is, that I cannot enter Google Account after factory reset (as I cannot estalbish wifi conection)
During initial setup I cannot estabish internet connection, as I cannot choose Bluetooth tethering connection.
Does anyone have any idea how to use Gapps in this situation?
thank you
#Jens
