[Q] Cyanogenmod over android 4.1.2 - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi there,
I am trying to kill the original LG Android 4.1.2.
I managed to:
-become root
-installed Rom Manager 5.5.3.7.
-downloaded via Rom Manager Flash ClockworkMod Recovery with message "Successfully flashed ClockworkMod recovery"
-Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 6.0.4.5
Issue:
When pressing "boot into recovery" in Rom Manager, the phone is rebooting, but the boot screen contains only the LG logo and two error messages written in red on top of the screen:
"[LG_Security] Error, boot image signature"
and
"[LG_Security] 5 seconds after power is turned off for battery savings"
Any idea
Thanks

did you unlock the bootloader bevore flashing CWM? (which is a requirement for installing 3rd party recoveries)

[Help] Won't Boot To Recovery

I am running ClockworkMod Recovery, and when I updated to version 2.0.1.0 through Koush's ClockworkMod Rom Manager, my phone won't boot into recovery.
When I plug it in to my computer to run adb logcat, it says "FASTBOOT USB" in red at the top of the screen. When I type fastboot reboot, it says "rebooting..." but doesn't reboot. Any ideas?
IDK. Haven't tried that recovery. Have you tried to download from your computer and flash it on the phone. You might also want to try flashing Amon RA or Godspeed.
I went into ROM Manager and flashed an old version of ClockworkMod. That fixed it.
Have you tried Amon-RA? If so what's the difference?

ClockworkMod has a nice app that you use in Android to name your backups, flash things in folders other than root of sd, ecetera.

[Q] I'm stuck in StartUP Boot Screen

Hello XDAs
I'm middle of the way on rooting my phone (Nexus One, Android 2.3.4) & flashing a custom rom (cm7 passion-V106)
I follow the tutorial at below & i've done most of the steps
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Nexus_One:_Full_Update_Guide
Here is what i've done,
-Unlocking the Bootloader
-Installing a Custom Recovery Image both Amon_Ra's Recovery & ClockworkMod Recovery but Amon_Ra is not working.... i unable to boot into Amon_Ra...
-Flashing Radio 5.08.00.04 but i receive a error message that the version is not supported
- Flashing CyanogenMod via ClockworkMod Recovery but i didn't receive install sucessfull message, it only return me back to ClockworkMod Recovery menu.
- Flashing Google Addon Apps via ClockworkMod Recovery - the only flashing that i receive install complete message
After i've done the process above and its come out that i have stuck on the CM7 Loading screen (Blue boot animation screen)
There is a few thing i've noticed which might be the problem...
1:The S_Lock is till On when i boot into Bootloader mode
2: My phone is still unrooted and i unable to use the ROM Manager from Apps Market.
3: sometimes i will not able to access ClockworkMod, it only shows me the " ! " Sign with an Android logo next to it.
Can someone help me with this... i'm stuck now and unable to turn on my phone...

Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Unlocking the bootloader doesn't give you s-off or root. You would need a rooted rom to run root apps/superuser.
You need to wipe everything and flash the rom again in recovery (you can't have both recoveries installed at once btw). Your hboot may need updating.
Flash the radio via fastboot so you don't brick your phone. Download it again in case your version is corrupt. You might wanna flash the recovery again.
Might be easier to go back to your nandroid backup (that you must have made, right?) and have a working phone for a while until you read around the subject.
*edit* or just read the wiki lol

[Q] remove clockworkmod recovery

Ok. I rooted my phone installed the unofficial first version of Clockworkmod Recovery. Since then, I downloaded ROM Manager and have tried to install the official Clockworkmod Recovery. It says it installed successfully, but I can't boot into recovery from the ROM Manager app. Everything I have read says I need to uninstall the original recovery, but the instructions for how to do so have eluded me.

Can you pastebin the output of the following shell command:
ls -l /system/bin/log*
That way I can see if you have 2 hijacks installed (1 from each version of recovery).

Rom manager will install Clockworkmod Recovery, but you still need a bootstrap to actually boot into it. Best bet is to use koush's off the market (Droid 3 Bootstrap) or get it for free off his website. Or use Hashcode's tweaked version. Once one of those are installed, hit the bootstrap recovery and you should boot up to CWM recovery by either hitting reboot recovery from the bootstrap app or from Rom manager.

[Q] Stock Recovery Compatibility

I bought a rooted HTC One M7 on ebay, it had Teamwin Recovery installed. I want to install OTA updates before installing Revolution ROM & followed advice here:
sakitechonline how-to-get-ota-updates-on-a-rooted-htc-one-m8
I installed this stock recovery which should be compatible:
"stock recovery 1.54.401.10 recovery.img"
but when I tried to boot into recovery it stuck on this message:
"Entering Recovery..."
so I re-installed Teamwin, where can I find a compatible stock recovery & how can it be verified?

Here is a Collection of Stock Recovery. You might want to follow this guide http://llabtoofer.com/2014/02/24/how-to-manually-install-ota-updates/ it is for the M7. You will want to find the stock recovery for your OS, you can find the OS version on the bootloader screen.
Thanks for the quick reply, I successfully flashed this:
stock recovery 1.54.401.10 recovery.img
& booted into the system, there was no option to check for updates. I tried to boot into the recovery from Goomanager but the phone did a factory re-set, so I'm back to square one. The recovery img specified Android 4.4.2/Sense 6.0 my phone is Android 4.4.2/Sense 5.5. is this an issue, do I have to re-lock boot-loader before flashing?
What is supposed to happen when you boot into stock recovery?

Cannot Flash any ROM from TWRP

I can boot my Moto E5 Play into recovery mode and get the TWRP menu. I click "Install" and choose a ROM which I adb pushed to my sdcard. The ROM appears to be flashed, but the phone does not re-boot. It stops on a blank black screen.I can only reboot into recovery and see the TWRP menu again. If I chose "Reboot System", I get a blank screen.
I have tried flashing the following ROMS with the same result:
lineage-17.1-20200715-UNOFFICIAL-RMX1931.zip
lineage-16.0-20200613-UNOFFICIAL-hannah.zip
user_XT1921-2_JAMES_RETUS_8.0.0_OPPS27.91-121-7_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip

Just wondering if you have unlocked the bootloader before trying to flash? Also I believe you need to decrypt the phone first as well.
Hello, I am facing a similar issue on a XT1944-3, the bootloader is unlocked and the only TWRP that installed and worked correctly for was from this thread TWRP (which does not support 64bit ROMS), I tried other for Hannah and James but fail to flash, with ADB and TWRP.
