I need the original recovery files cause my phone is bricked and it's the only way to restore it with Flashtool - i think -
system/bin/recovery.tar
system/bin/chargemon
system/bin/charger
system/xbin/sh
If you know a better way to restore my phone please comment.
Thanks.
I think you should flash your phone by E15i next time install xRecovery and restor
Hey, I got a problem with restoring a backup on my SGS+. I' m using CWM 6.0.1.2 and in the middle of the restoring process, when it says it' s restoring mobi.cyann.natools-1.apk ( i recored a video so i can see what it is because it dissapears very fast ), phone just turns down. Hopefully i can boot, as it restored the boot image, but half of things is not working. I know i can flash rom again, but i really need files from that backup. What can i do?
EDIT: I tried with older backup i found on my pc and it' s the same, phone turns down. Is it a recovery problem?
And sorry i posted it in i9000 section, but i9001 has only a single post in Q&A and it' s a bit messy.

you need same recovery as your backup for it to work, workaround is to use a Nandroid browser ( free app from play store) to copy what you need to new ROM

Yup i know about it =) Sorry, i didn' t mention this "old" backup is also in CWM6. It just doesn't have data i need.
So I have a C6603 that had andoid 4.3. I rooted it and flashed the ROM after a loooong time of finding the right assets, anyway.... I backed up my 4.3 using CWM, then I flashed my ROM to the PAC-ROM. I saved the backup on my SD-card and I can't find it anywhere. The phone works with a few minor hickups, but nothing i can't handle. I'm afraid the SD-card was formatted and my backup is gone..... Is there now no way i can revert to stock android as it were, installing 4.4 when that arrives and so on???

yeah it appears that your sd card has been formatted, but no worries u can still flash ftf of sony stock rom or even a cwm flashable zip
so when 4.4 comes out just flash the ftf via flashtool or a cwm flashable zip

first download any root browser and go to data/media/clockworkmod/backup and check if the backup in there , if not then go to your sdcard and check lost.dir folder and check the lost.dir folder on internal storage , check the size of the files in it , if the size is big ( approximately = size of the backups ) then your backup is been lost and not deleted and u can recover it easily
i wish u can find your backup bro

This is a real nooby question.... but it I do this will it be the same as if I never flashed the phone in the first place? or will i maybe experience problems since I flashed it and didn't update normally??

Just copy/paste the backup to the sd card clockworkmod folder
But beware is you on a older version of recovery you cant restore it because of a md5 mismatch and twrp wil not reconize the nandroid unless you change the format of the backup
Verstuurd vanaf mijn C6603 met Tapatalk
still doesn't work...

The backup already is there, but as I installed the ROM the phone switched from CWM recovery to Team Win Recovery project, and it can't find the backup! I downloaded ROM manager and chose CWM as the recovery program, but everytime the phone boots into recovery it launches TWRP, which does not find the backup. The backup was easily found in ROM manager and it told me that it would turn of my phone and get back to the old 4.3, as soon as it turned back on it launched TWRP and it did not do anything -_-
Doing a wipe data / factory reset in cwm i have:
Formatting /data ...
Formatting /cache ...
and nothing more, seems to be freezed.
Known bug ?? any trick ?
thanks
after a long wait (3 minutes ?): Data wipe complete
...
strange no ?
same long wait (perhaps more, 5 minutes?) after a /data restore ...
wtf ...
Yup, you need to wait above 5 minutes..
it's normal if you dont want to wait more try TWRP recovery
normal ?
what cwm is doing during all this time (and without notifying anything) ???

CWM is really slow. Try TWRP it's fast.
well, thanks!
But just to be clear: the data restore itself seems to be as quick as twrp, but when it finishes backup (last action displayed) it's "hanging" for a while.

Happens with me too dude..!
CWM actually has a bug with 4.3 and 4.4
I face two issues one is wrong date backup creattion another is very slow backup but the best and most reliable backup is of CWM.
Well I have some good news for you
Flash all the three recoveries at once into your Xperia SP!
Isn't it great
Here follow this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649923http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649923
Enjoy!
Hit thanks if I helped Also check my work if you like
I already installed these 3 recoveries with this tuto.
But with twrp, i faced something like corrupted backup files (.win). When trying to open them as .tar on PC it was impossible.
With cwm it's ok but slow ...
Well, i don't know if it's not a problem on my xperia system files ...

I used twrp on my mortorola Atrix and it was possible to extract backup content on my pc with 7zip (.win files).
So perhaps it's a newer twrp version used here and backup files are criated in a different way ?
I also faced this strange thing when restoring with twrp: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/help/issue-restore-twrp-t2836727
So I'm now using cwm ... but it is slower.

new backup method i think,
even if you cant extract with pc it doesnt mean that it doesnt work in recovery
i personally use twrp as i dont trust cwm and this is due to me using cwm on my first android phone till now cwm always failed with something and twrp worked fine always

I found a way to manage twrp backup files on PC: with TotalComander and renaming files as .tar
This wasn't necessary with twrp on Motorola Atrix (can be open with 7zip), but the version with Xperia is different.

Format data, but make sure you backup the the backup from phone to pc. Then load the backup back on phone, and boot to os. then reboot to recovery, and restore just your data.
Thank you for reply, I already did that but when I restor my data still go to bootloop again, anyway I did flash from and rooted it then restore mu data manually from TB
