Hello,
Can someone please let me know where I can find some custom Android 2.3 / Gingerbread ROMs for Galaxy Note N7000?
All of the download links are either dead or redirect to some weird site. The only one I can download is RocketRom V19_1 from Google Docs and that will not work because it needs RocketRom V19 to be installed which I cannot download.
Reasons why I want Gingerbread :
-TouchWiz;
-I cannot stand the AOSP interface and its keyboard;
-Most importantly of all, every ROM / firmware over 2.3 kills the battery and makes the phone slow (at least for N7000).
So any download location (if possible, from Google Docs) for a 2.3 Custom ROM would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello,
I'd like to deploy the Gingerbread stock ROM for my SGS, but I was unable to find it. Found lots of custom/hacked ROMs instead.
Can someone please point me through?
And, another question: will I be able to root this stock rom?
Thanks you!
Gingerbread has not been released .
Stock rom JVK JVB 2.2.3 posted here if you have the ability to use search ..
Even look at first page .
Stock roms on www samfirmware.com .
Stock = Samsung rom does not mean its been released to the public .
And, another question: will I be able to root this stock rom?
Yes if you can follow the instructions .

greetings,
sorry for this general question
but I am lost between a lot of gingerbread roms available for the SGS
what is the most stable gingerbread rom that supports Arabic & has all major features working ?
thanks a lot,
Ahmed
Simply honey 3.2
Juwe's ROM 4.2
Although it's merely a matter of personal preference, you'll find many people here try many a ROM but do always go back to one, and in the process become quite loyalist (not a criticism because I am the same) :3
Testing the Ginger Criskelo Rom v45 on GB 2.3.3 after testing Darky's ROM v10 RC5 and stock JVB with different Kernels
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978354
Advantages:
it is deodexed, zipaligned and rootet, was very simple to install via CWM3, flashing ROM from SD-Card even on a non-deodexed SGS I.
works perfect for me, is fast, smooth, has a nice look with glassy notification bar and dial-screen and seems to be very stable.
Disadvantages:
Has just 3 minor bugs (email.apk needs to be set back to default and powercontrol bar needs to be set on launcher and requires a restart to work properly...these bugs are solved)
3rd bug: when I choose the folder for favorite contacts (contacts marked with a star) on homescreen the application crashes.
Somebody who uses Ginger Criskelo v42 or v45 has an idea to solve this problem? link or solution will be useful!
I like to thank Criskelo for his great work and this beautiful ROM!
you might also wanna check on CMy7 or miui. Great interface, smooth as silk and AOSP!
No best only users choice and GB is Beta not full release .

Well I'm looking for a stock 2.2 or 2.3 ROM for my SGS i9000. It doesn't matter as long as it will play nice with Kies.
My Phone is tied to Telenor but as it's a Norwegian carrier they do not put bloatware on the phone, so it is basically the stock SGS i9000 ROM I'm looking for, sans bloatware.
I have lost my USB cable but could of course locate it if needed though having the ability to flash it over CWM is much more convenient.
Prefferebly with Nordic bands and a guide that follows, I am currently on Galnet MIUI based off the ICS 4.0.1 framework and believe I use the gingerbread bootloader however I have forgotten.
Could anyone assist me in this?, most of the stock ROM's I've found thus far are not aimed at the Nordic countries or they have a rather poor guide supplementing them
Bumping, still need this!
Hi,
My wife has Jetpack V9 (XXJVU) ROM on her Galaxy S (I9000) and the performance of the ROM is awful. Very slow most of the time.
In fact, I would like to try an ICS rom on the phone but she uses Samsung's native 3G video call feature which is not available in Android by default. So she needs a rom with Samsung framework.
It has been some time since I checked the ROMS for Galaxy S. Is there any development on this subject ?
I mean, do we have any ICS rom with 3G video call support ?=
If not, would anyone recommend me to use another "value pack" GingerBread rom ? like this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626068&highlight=value+pack&page=31
Thanks.
I would really appreciate if anyone could comment on this...
I think that any rom has it... Because Samsung framework for SGS it's not released by Samsung to be Open Source, so in a CM(7/9) or MIUI are very difficult to find it.
But you could try any latest Samsung modified rom (JW6).
I hope it helps you!
Thanks but what do you mean by Samsung modified rom ?
is it ICS ?
can you give me an example of JW6 rom ?
Samsung modified rom means custom stock rom. There's not Samsung ICS stock rom for our mobile, just a pack with ICS features.
JW6 example:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689513
You also could try with JW5:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656081
Remember that JW6 or JW5 or JW4 don't mean ICS but Gingerbread with ICS features.
There's a lot of custom roms based on Samsung stock. I don't know everyone, these are examples I found.
Don't even try to find any ics rom video call feature ,ics not support video calling try to use skype or fring or use gingerbread value pakcs they are also good (xxjw4)
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
GB value pack for I9000 is real good. It has everything that's in a stock GB and some new features to spice it up.
But when i used it the WiFi took a long time to wake up from sleep, was really annoyed with that.
If you wanna use video chat i recommend going back to stock GB ROM and flash a nice kernel to speed things up, And try not to brick your phone.
Thank you AnMOS. That's more than enough.
That's the same reason I went back to JW6. I was loving slim ICS but the lack of native video calling compelled me to go back. Why would they not include that feature anyway? It has been existing for the past five years or so (I think).
Hi all !!!
After upgrade from Android GingerBread 2.3.5 to Android IceColdSandwich 4.03 I have problem with Internet access on Desktop through USB. Simple USB mode on ICS 4.0.3 is not exsisted I contant with his Author -Lord Clokan, ask his advice, but he only tell me to download new tested version of ICS 4.0.3. anyway my conclusion is ANDROID 4.0.3 IceCreamSanwich is very bad!!!!!! non stable version now I am understood that Android Gingerbread 2.3 much better, even desighn is not good like ICS but it have Internet pass-through mode! its more important than other fancy, but useless screen picture.
OK I need help to downgrade from Android ICS 4.03 to Gingerbread 2.3, where to find file for Samsung galaxy S i9000 in Odin3 -for Bootloader, PDA, Phone, CSC file, please help me if you already use ODIn3 v1.83
You have to flash a 3-file-firmware with Odin and repartition. You can get them in Ramahd's stock fw collection. Search for it in general section and you'll find it.
