HTC M8 C942 cover -cracks - One (M8) Accessories

Using the C942 cover for my M8 and love it!
However, after 2 months of using, I have already 2 creaks on the bottom part of the cover.
Is this normal or bad luck?

Any one have issues with the back cover?

My 1 St back cover always creaked so I bought another OEM back cover from Ebay. That worked well for a few weeks then I started to feel the creaking but not as bad as the first one yet. What I mean is after sometime I can snap the cover back in like I had it off. Any one else?
Nope, no problems here (yet) but i'm almost waiting for it to happen This is why i try to not never remove it unless i really really have to. It's plastic and it will get softer the more you mess with it.

[Q] GG2 how bad is it?

Hello fellow xda-users,
since i´m coming from a Sensation i didnt have the "luck" (or maybe not?) to get my hands on Gorilla Glas 2.
I saw multiple threads about GG2 on the HOX and the SGS3 claiming it scratched during normal daily usage.
My Sensation (GG1) still doesnt have a single scratch after 2 years without a screen protector.
Will we have the same problems on the ONE as on the HOX?
regards
How do we know? The device isn't out yet

True, maybe someone with a GG2 Device (you?) could comment on the overall scratch resistance on other devices since some people seem to think that the scratches aren´t really on the screen but on a coating that comes from the device manufacturer.
Thanks
I have GG2 on my Lg Optimus G. I work in manufacturing and I keep my phone in my pocket with out a screen protector and old a TPU case on it. I have no scratches on my glass even when it goes in the same pocket as my keys
My One S has gg2. It's been almost 8 months since i bought the phone, and i haven't put a screen protector since day 1. Still no scratch, not even a tiny bit..

I've also had no problems with my HOX that has GG2. Never had a screen protector for this phone. We will have to wait and see how it will be on the One.
Thanks guys, i´ll still wait for the first scratch tests but you eased my mind allready. :good:
I've had the EVO lte since launch with no screen protector. I've on a couple of occasions, dropped it. Once I was getting out of my lifted jeep and it fell out onto my driveway and slid face down for a few feet. And another time on my concrete patio landing on the top corner and bounced a few times. To my surprise, both times the screen suffered not a blemish. I purchased a new housing because of the paint damage and all was easily as new. So I wouldn't be too worried about gorilla glass.

Screen Protector - has anyone managed to get one on smooth

I have bought some htc screen protectors for the htc one and cant get it on successfully without the bottom left or top right being
not flush to the phone (ive tried both ways)
Is the screen completely flat or is there a curve on it ?
has anyone managed to get a screen protector successfully attatched to the whole screen ?
Bugging hell out of me
help
thanks
I got close, no air bubbles what so ever except the only thing wrong is like you said, a small part of the protector doesnt stick to the screen on the top left of the screen :l its bugging me too. I might just rip it off and apply a new one, see if thats any better.
I might cut a bit off. I use HTC's cover one with red and grey so I can lose a bit
Glad it's not just me

I got one on on properly, it's a spare from my One X, had to cut it a bit, but it is flat, no bubbles, doesn't cover the whole of the screen but covers the viewable screen and and leaves a gap of a couple of mm on each side.
Only problem with mine was when i went to take off the top part once it was fitted, the little pull piece came off! So i have the protective cover with its protective cover on it!
Lol I'm going to try to cut one down slightly on the top left

I'm leaving it on until my other protectors arrive, ordered the one's posted in another thread from here, X treme guard.
Wet application, so should be a lot easier to fit properly. Can't go wrong for £2.38 for 2 full protection (front and back) sets with free postage!
Do they post to the UK ? Presume so with you quoting £

Are these wet or dry application protectors that you guys are having problems with?

Yes, free postage to UK, will take about 3 weeks to get here but should give me a choice of options, either protective skin front and back if they look ok, or front protective skin and slim case for back. (ordered this one....Slim transparent case.
Theres quite a few different screen protectors on eBay I was looking at but want a perfect fit so looking at the official one I find screen protectors easy to apply, but people are having problems... thoughits not v clear whats the problem. Is it too big? or just bad application? Do you guys not align it prior to application to get an idea of the location and spacing needed?
Finally after a lot of trial and error managed to get one on properly this thing isn't coming off anytime soon

Replacing speaker cover

Hi all. I damaged the bottom speaker grill on my M7. Is it worth it and easy to replace?
How is it connected?
Also is this a genuine OEM part? http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc-one-top-cover-and-bottom-cover.html
They should be genuine yes. Heat the grill up, being careful not to overheat the phone and melt anything, then prise off the grill (its glued on), replace with the new one and press it down hard. Ideally you need to clamp it down until the glue sets otherwise you will have a large gap, use a strong bulldog clip or a clamp of some sort.

Did you end up trying the repair? Im really curious on how it goes. My One has a blown speaker the top, and i really want to find out how easy it would be to replace

I scratched mine on the bottom speaker grill two days after i bought it also trying to find a way to replace the grill.
Just a heads up. The top speaker grill with the sensors in it is screwed from behind on one corner. Only the bottom one is able to be removed with heat. In addition, the speakers are mounted in the frame from behind, So you will need to remove the chassis (which you will not do without damaging the housing.
So anyone attempted this yet?

i have both covers here now, luckily the bottom one looks glued, as there is nothing to screw it, but the top one is definitely screwed it has a piece with thread on it to attach a screw.. luckily for me my bottom one is damaged more than the top..
so has anyone removed a bottom cover?
