Counterfeit vs Genuine S-pen - Galaxy Note 4 General

Hey guys! I posted this in the AT&T specific forum, but figured it would get better access on the general note 4 forum.
I recently bought a "refurb" galaxy note 4 N910A from ebay recently and was dismayed to find that the s-pen did not work properly. After a few google searches and looking at some pictures, I found out that the spen I had was a counterfeit. I bought a genuine pen and did an unboxing as well as a comparison between the genuine and counterfeit s-pens. I couldn't find any particular threads or videos on it so I decided it would be useful to post it here.
I hope this helps some of you in the future if you ever find yourself in question of whether an S-pen you bought is genuine.

This was very informative, thanks for putting the time and effort into doing it. I've seen the S-Pens on ebay and was wondering what the difference was.
What did the ebay seller end up saying about the fake S-Pen?

The ones I bought were real

NIIICE!!!! thank u
Except for a few covers and screen protectors, its all just generic phone accessories. Also, i got a good chuckle from the Memory section selling microSD cards with "Compatible with Google Nexus S Phone" at the bottom of each listing. Technically I guess they explain that away by selling a 56-in-1 Media Reader, but in that case even an old Compact Flash card could be listed as Nexus S compatible.
Oh well, got my hopes up for a sec.
Another templated generic accessories site like the rest. Nothing to write home about.

[Q] Ordering a new S-pen

I think I've misplaced my S-Pen.
Is it possible to order a new one?
ebay is your friend
Samsung doesn't sell S-Pens?
I looked at getting just the S Pen since the top came off mine and is now loose. I could only find the replacement that comes with the proper pen body. It's about £23. I've not seen Samsung selling just the S Pen on it's own (not in the UK anyway). I'd be interested to find out if they are available tho.

I found replacement S pens at the Samsung store here in india...
I lost my s pen last week, i've called samsung asking for it, they called me back ten minutes later telling me that they booked one for me and i need to collect it from their service center 2km from my office in Dubai, it costs 90 Dirhams (25$).
Thanks everyone. I sent a mail to the Samsung dealer here. Will order from ebay if it fails.

Does anyone know where to get fake ones or really cheap ones? I can't justify spending $25 on a piece of plastic if you know what I mean. Btw I saw a few spens at best buy if u r in the us. But like I said, those are $20-$25.

Did you see this thread?

The s-pen isn't just a piece of plastic, unfortunately, and that's why it is so expensive. Therefore I think you won't see any real cheap ones very soon.

Samsung OEM batteries for GNII

i have been searching but havent found them. My experience with the GN1 is that the OEm batteries last a lot longer than the 3rd party batteries that say they are larger.
Anyone know where to buy these?

Wait a while longer. The trusted seller for Samsung OEM batteries and accessories is a seller named shimshop on eBay. He's a seller from South Korea. I bought all my OEM batteries for Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy SII from him. I'm sure he'll have stuff in the next week or two for the Note II. He already has car docks and mounts for Note II. He ships items within a day from when you pay and stuff always got delivered in about 7 days for me. I live in Australia.
Shimshop Store: http://stores.ebay.com/shimshop
For those that have had the SGS II, SGS III, or the Note...has Samsung made a battery charger/dock type device before? That's something that I'd be interested in and am hoping that the past 2 generations of Galaxy devices would lend people some insight into that type of accessory being available for the Note 2.
I can only assume that this guy is too good to be true, but the, "condition" is the exact same as shimshop:
Condition: New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag.

Two batteries plus a charger for a little bit over $10?
And no mention of OEM parts?
Yes, that would be a wonderful knockoff indeed

Cheap accesoiries

Hi Streakers,
Does anyone know a place to buy a cheap dock or mugen 4800mah baterry? You'd think the prices of accesoiries should drop by now but on ebay it is still quite expensive, first 3 pages of Google does not get me any further as well. So if anyone sees a sale place share!
Thanks in advance.

I'm also looking for these things. The dell streak is great. But there is no reason a person can't find very lightly used or even new (overstocked) accessories. This device was worldwide, right? I'm thinking there should be all sorts of gear floating around for cheap...just above the price of what it would cost to remanufacture the parts for the Galaxy Note series.
By the way, Galaxy Note 3!!! wow!

Bought Note 5 on eBay - real or fake?

Hello everyone,
After using Windows phone for several years I decided to switch back to Android and picked up a used Note 5 from eBay. But I am not 100% sure if this is a real Note 5 or a clone/fake one and need some advise.
The seller states that this is an unlocked Verizon/GSM model but does not reveal too much information in the listing or via PMs with me. He confirmed that this is a 64gb Verizon model and is in good condition, so I took a plunge and bought it. The phone should arrive some time this week or next week and I will get a better idea about it and will definitely return it if it is not real.
What seems strange to me is that there is no Verizon logo on the back side, only Samsung and Note 5. I thought that all phones that are Verizon-CDMA enabled should carry the Verizon brand on the back side, am I wrong?
Here the pictures of the phone I bought and the link to the auction from eBay. Any possible suggestions if this is a real Note 5? Thanks.

Could be a phone that had the back glass cracked and was replaced. just a thought.
I actually thought the same thing but it is unlikely. Someone from another forum suggested that it was normal and Samsung stopped slapping the carrier logos on newer models. There is a photo of the Verizon Note 5 on Samsung site that looks like the one I got. Will see when it arrives.
i bought a note 5 from Ebay recently, everything worked good except my signal/ GPS is spotty no matter what rom I flash to include stock.
