Hello!
I currently saw two variants of official 5.1.1 (1 for T-Mobile and 1 for Sprint/USC).
I'm wondering if I can install this to my Nexus 6. I'm using the international variant.
Thanks
And why the rush? What do you think you are going to gain from 5.1.1?
also waiting for 5.1.1 they fixed a battery a bit there so device will work a bit longer)

Use the Sprint build.
I'm resetting up my unit from scratch every update so I was thinking that after I setup my Nexus 6 on 5.1.0 for hours the 5.1.1 will come out. So it'll be a waste of time.

Is that the official build for the international variant or just a workaround? Thanks

That is the build that international users have reported getting as an OTA.

Not sure if I'm actually supposed to update to 5.1.1 given I'm bootloader unlocked and i'm pretty sure OTA's don't work with unlocked bootloader, any advice?
It'll update just fine with a unlocked boot loader. If you are rooted tit won't take.

But surely the UK doesn't have a 5.1.1 ROM given they're for the US Only?

At some point, they were bound to start pushing a more "general" update. Could be that you're getting it.

I got the 5.1.1 OTA in the UK last week and it works fine. It's LMY47Z, same as the factory image that says Sprint, USC only

They're not US only. Its just they're the only US carriers that can use that particular update...its the generic update. Other US carriers (namely TMO and Verizon) have their own specific updates. That's why the generic update can only be used by the other US carriers.
Received an update notification for my n6 in Canada. Being rooted and running a noon encrypted kernel had to skip the OTA. Fastboot the sprint/USC factory image last week and haven't had an issue.

All nexus 6 ROMs will work on all nexus 6 without issue. Just Verizon and TMO users will lose features, hence that Z build saying USC / Sprint only. Actually its not USC / sprint only. Its USC / Sprint only in the US, and everyone everywhere else in the world

Only difference for you then is one is newer than the other. So use the newest (48i).
Further info: ALL Nexus 6 can use the same ROMs. The only difference is that some US carriers have specific ROMs to add functions or just so they can approve the builds themselves. So you just need to avoid the Builds that are specifically for T-Mobile or Verizon IF you want OTA to work in the future. Otherwise, you could use any.

thanks for the information.
Hi, I was hoping to update to 6.0 but there are three versions of 6.0 to choose from. Can someone describe their differences? I bought the phone unlocked and i am using it on Verizon. I would like to keep it unlocked for all carriers and for use globally though, if that makes a difference in version number.

why do you want to install an older version(that's not international)? the latest version is MMB29S, and all nexus run it, its not just international. again, all nexus are running the same build. the difference between american and international versions are only the radio bands being used by the phone itself.

Looking to see if anyone on T-mobile has Android Pie 9.0 yet, the official download. That, or does anyone know when it'll come?

Nope. Probably within the next month I hope.
In the US, officially not yet. I think Verizon was the first one to update the Note 8 to Android 8... I'm not sure how quickly T-MOBILE updated their phones

Just for reference, the Note 8 on T-Mobile didn't get a stable build until May '18 (April '18 version got pulled, buggy).
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-36189
Since the Pie update isn't even on T-Mo's radar yet,I'm guessing we're looking at an equally long wait:

I have the U1 device and upgraded to Pie using the same.method that is posted on the how to upgrade to Pie thread. I'm using T-Mobile for my service and everything works fine. If you do not want to ant to wait for the OTA then just follow the guide.

Why not use the u version leaked by att? Csa7 is fully supporting TMobile and works great.

Does it lock you into that firmware branch like the Note 8 was with the leaked Oreo builds?

Nope. No bootloader update yet for the note 9 so you are safe to downgrade back to Oreo or even over to u1 firmware if you'd like.

Do you know if you lose any T-mobile features?
Namely Wi-Fi calling?
