Good morning/afternoon/evening all,
For the last several hours, I've been trying to pair my Wii U Pro controller to my phone and I've tried all (including that bluetooth fix app that was all in Japanese) and nothing seems to work. I even tried the regular Wii controller app just to be sure.
I've actually contacted Nintendo and the device was not actually given a PIN to use on devices, just the Wii U.
So my question is:
Is there any way to pair the device without the PIN? The phone recognizes it instantly, however obviously no PIN combination works.
Specs of Phone:
Note 4 [Canadian] Rooted
TEKXodus N4
Bluetooth works fine with regular devices (with PIN)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a Note 3 ROM that has /dev/uinput support so I can run apps like USB/BT Joystick Center. I want to be able to use my Xbox One Controller to play games and fly drones and use the Xbox controller instead of the touch screen. There seems to be issues with stock Samsung kernals.
- Samsung: "Can't access dev/uinput". This is a known Samsung KNOX Kernal issue. You have to use a custom rom with clean kernal. Or try this fix: hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53343683&postcount=105
I've done the troubleshooting suggested in the LINK, now I'm on Option 3: Find a rom with a different kernal.

Samsung has done something that has broken the /dev/uinput that is expected with other android manufacturer builds. I've tried AllianceROM, etc but since they are built off of the stock Note 3 firmware, they would have to fix this issue specifically like other roms have done in order to make this work. According to the above group post, non-at&t roms like 'Clean Rom' & FlexCat work, but unfortunately they do not have N900A revisions =/
Does anyone know of a ROM that does at least have a good possibility of working? I don't mind flashing a few, I just dont' want to blindly flash everything =/ Any help would be much appreciated.
If it helps I can use a ps4 controller no problem and a 360 controller as well. Have you tried pairing it like a normal Bluetooth device?

No. I wanted to stick with the Xbox One controller because I have those on hand so it wouldn't be an extra expense. Did the 360 controller connection need to be wired, or does it work wirelessly with no extra hardware?

360 was wired but ps4 was over Bluetooth.
So I'm guessing there isn't a solution other than changing my controller?
Hello.
I watched many tutorials and videos about using ps3 on android but all I see is 2 options:
1. OTG cable
2. Root + Sixaxis enabler.
I do not want to root my s6edge+ and can't use otg cable while phone is connected to Gear Vr since it does not recognize it.
Is there any way to be able to use ps3 controller without root on Gear Vr?
Thanks
BR.
I might be wrong on this, but I think the PS3 controller needs root to manage the bluetooth driver. The PS4 controller would be the "no root wireless" option, but right now, i'm having issues getting it to work. I'm able to pair the controller, but not connect it. It seems that once it's paired, it defaults back to the PS4. I see this is a common problem with the new flagship Galaxy devices. It seems maybe a bluetooth problem.

Not only that, but you usually also need a custom rom/kernel in order for it to work (at least on my Note 4; stock rooted rom won't work with the PS3 controller).

I am also having this exact same issue. It's been driving me insane. I have bought an OTG cable and everything trying to get them working together but it also doesn't seem to work for me cabled.
Has anyone found any resolutions to this yet that anyone knows of? Really wanna play Demonhalls etc on Gear VR but can't get the controller to work! :'(
Yeah I can't get the ps3 to work either. I can pair the ps4 controller and it works for a little bit then it starts acting crazy. I bought an ASUS controller for $25 that works great except for not having a start button lol. Can't play anything in the arcade. I can't win.
I have a note 5 by the way.
Sent from my SM-N920T
tablet remote app
app on playstore,2nd android device needed, works on samsung, oculus and sideload-use

works for dreadhalls as well-i cut out the controller buttons with those pads for chair legs with sticky back-only drawback no tactile feedback
Who ever is facing a problem in connecting the remote through cable, try to use a new cable and it might work.
It worked for me
I'm trying to get either an xBox 360 or a PS3 controller connected to my S2 but so far have been spectacularly unsuccessful. Has anybody managed to do it without rooting the device or flashing a new rom?
I've tried both, connected through an OTG cable that I know works because I can use both a flash drive and a wired mouse with it.
I'd rather not root it, it's still under warranty and I don't want to lose that and I definitely don't want to flash a different rom. I like it as it is.
One thread I found implied that the Sixaxis app would allow me to connect the PS3 controller by using the USB cable I have for charging it but I've found this not to be the case. It just tells me that it can't find the controller on Bluetooth and doesn't even seem to look for a wired one.
Searching has shown me that the controllers can be connected to other tablets but I'm yet to find anyone who has done it with the S2.
Please can anyone help? I'd love to be able to play games on my tablet without using the on screen controls which I find very awkward.
I should say that my S2 is an SM-T713
You would definitely need a keymapper, I'd say. Unless the game in question nativity supports a gamepad/controller.
Did you check the Nvidia Shield Tablet threads?
I think they came up with a *no root* solution, which should be applicable for all sorts of Android devices.
Thanks, I'll have a look
I was in a similar boat to you a few week ago on my stock T715:-
-Xbox 360 Bluetooth, no connection
-PS3 Bluetooth, no connection
-Xbox 360 Wired/OTG, no connection
-PS3 Wired/OTG, connection but sometimes with calibration issues
I went to a shop in the UK called CeX and asked for a Bluetooth controller. They had a used Gamesir S3 for £15 which is cheaper than a wired PS3 controller. The Gamesir is excellent, it's connected every single time. They supply a micro USB to micro USB cable so you have the choice of wired or Bluetooth. Both work flawlessly without any calibration issues.
Best £15 I've spent this year. :victory:
Fail.
I can recommend gamesir s3 too. It also came with a clip that you can use for your phone.
I've been trying use a Bluetooth gamepad, but ever one I've tried (I think three different ones) have given me severe input lag on the order of 4 seconds (so nothing happens for 4 seconds l, but if you hold it long enough, it will stick for another 4 seconds) Anyone else experience this?
I also tried connecting a wired Xbox 360 controller through the USB-C with an adapter, but it only seems to power it; doesn't know what to do.
It could be partially the controllers' fault. I have one of the newer Xbox One controllers with Bluetooth. I haven't tried it yet but will see when I get home.
To support the 360 controller I believe you need a key layout file or something. There's a Magisk module that claims to add it ("1 Controller")
Ok, just tried the Xbox One controller and there was no lag at all. So it's possible, just maybe need to keep trying controllers
I've tried it with two off-brand Bluetooth controllers (the kind you get on Amazon when you search Android controller), and the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con. All had the same symptoms.
Hmm. From a quick Google, the Joy Cons lagging on Android seems to be a common issue, but entirely random depending on device, even ones with good ROMs like the Nexus series. Seems unlucky.
I just picked up an Ipega 9023. No lag and works beautifully. It does help having octopus installed
Loved It
Thank you
Hello.
I recently purchased a P30 Pro 512GB (Model VOG-L29 Build Number: 9.1.0.124(C431E4R2P2) GPU Turbo) and wished to try some games using a physical game controller.
As I had a PS3 game controller and an OTG cable I thought that would be an easy (and cheap) solution. I understand that I wouldn't be able to connect via bluetooth without root, but I should be able to use it via cable?
However only half of the pad works (left analogue and a couple shoulder buttons), I installed Game Controller KeyMapper from the play store to check and it appears that every other button is returning Key Pressed = 0
I unplugged the cable and tried this setup on my Huawei P10 Plus and it worked perfectly.
Could anyone suggest reasons for this issue and possible work around?

HI I was wondering if you ever found how to make your controller work? I m having the same problem on a honor 8x, it used to work perfectly and recently only my left joystick seems to respond
Have you guys found a fix for this problem? I have the same problem like you on my Mate 20 Pro. My Ps3 controller works on any phone except my phone.
