Nexus 7 External Microphone - Nexus 7 Accessories

Anyone know if there is some kind of external microphone that can be plugged into the Nexus 7 3.5mm jack? I think if i plug-in a normal earphone that has built in mic, the nexus detects it as an external audio output too. I just want it to use the mic and not the earphones itself.

[Q] External Mic for htc hd 2

Hi there. I hope someone will help me...Basically I need dictaphone for interviews so I bought "Olympus ME-52W Noise Canceling Microphone" and I tryied to use it with my htc hd 2. Phone is showing connected headphones but mic is not working. So my question is can I use external mic with my phone or is it related with software? If someone know the answere pls help me!!!!!!! btw I use Resco audio recorder
The problem is because the connector on the mic is probably the same as a mono headphone plug. The phone thinks that you have headphones plugged in. The phone has a socket that accepts 4 pole jack plugs. That is it requires a special plug that has contacts for both left and right audio as well as for the mic.
If you really want to use the mic I would go to somewhere like radio shack or mapplins and buy a 3.5 mm 4 pole jack plug and a couple of sockets. You could then wire up your own adapter to let you use the mic and also a pair of headphones or speakers at the same time. The pin out for the plug should be easy to find on the net and so long as you can solder I wouldn't see any problems.
Other than that plugging the mic directly into the phone will defiantly not work.

[Q] Headphone with inline mic issue

I have the MEElectronics M6P with inline mic headphones. When I connect the headphones to the One, it does not recognize that the headphones are connected. All sound goes to the speakers.
Has anyone had similar issues? The HTC one will recognizes headphones without an inline mic. I believe the issue is with the length of the jack.
It's very disappointing I can't use my everyday headphones with the One. Attached is a picture of the jack on the headphones.

[Q] How to use TRRS adapter with a 3.5mm external mic?

Hello I bought a trrs adapter with headphones and Mic so I bought a 12 foot 3.5mm extension and plugged a 3.5mm Mic in and it seems to work for voice recognition as soon as I plug in. Also the headphones work fine on the trrs adapter.
What's a good app that can work so I can monitor the external Mic over the headphones?
Do I need a trrs 12' 3.5mm extension so the Mic will work? Because I know the Mic and extension work fine on a computers Mic plug...
I need an app to simply listen to the trrs external microphone over the headphones...
Thanks

External microphone

I want to use voice control in my car but haven't had much success using my Bluetooth visor speaker. I was thinking I might be able to wire a microphone near my face so I can use that to control things in the car.
I don't really want the headphone output connected to the car speakers (maybe sometimes) so is it possible just to connect a microphone to the headphone socket and still have the sound come from the phone's speaker?

External microphones

hi
as we all come to know one of the oneplus 3 greatest faults is the sound quality from the internal microphones, so i was wondering is it possible to have a external microphone plugged in to try and correct the issue. ive seen the ones that plug in to the 3.5mm jack and the usb ones.
has anyone had success with either of these types of microphones
thanks
I have used an external mic with my oneplus 3 when recording video. I have a Rode Videomic Go that is plugged into a Y splitter that has a microphone and headphone jack. Rode also sells a converter. The only caveat is that you need to use a 3rd party video app (I use Open Camera) that can set the audio source to external.
Are you using the y-splitter because you want to monitor with headphones and/or because the the Rode doesn't come with the right cable to plug into a phone?

Ext mic with muff but internal mic still on
I'm using open camera with a plug in external mic and a diy dead cat wind muff, but the mic next to the back camera and the bottom phonecall mic are still active so they pick up the wind, is there a workaround to disable the internal mics?
