1. My Windows 8.1 64 Bit is not recognizing my htc m7 (even tried with HTC Sync)
2. Tried connecting in Ubuntu, fastboot works, but adb says "no device found".
3. Tried installing various recovery images using fastboot (twrp, philz, etc), none of them works (phone is simply bootlooping)
4. downloaded various RUU, all of them fails while installing.
5. Phone is Unlocked and S-On
Could some one please help me?
I just want my phone up
I am even ready to change the OS if thats a way...

¿Which recovery you have now?
If you have TWRP you can mount the sdcard and copy a rom..
Have you try flash RUU zip from usb otg?
1. Get relocked by fastboot oem lock
2. Get correct ruu for your phone (MID/CID)
3. Rename RUU to PN07IMG.zip and copy on usb root (do not put inside any folder.. Just root directory of usb drive)
4. Connect usb to OTG cable with split power supply (Y-type OTG cable) to phone.
5. Fastboot reboot-bootloader.
6. Follow update ruu on screen when usb drive detected ruu.zip.
Done

you cant flash an RUU or Rom like that, you have the dual sim phone, and I couldn't find an RUU for your phone, so could you link the file your trying to flash please.
your only option is to flash a custom rom to your phone, unless you have a backup of your original.
Flash this from within a custom recovery, rom only, not the firmware, if you flash the firmware you will brick your phone, http://llabtoofer.com/2014/07/31/htc-one-dualsim-maximushd-3-0-0/ after flash is done, read a little about your phone and try and get s-off, it will save you a lot of problems in the future like this.

Damn, I missed this at the bottom of the page before: Only HTC One Dual Sim 802W (M7C_DUG) is supported
you have the M7C DTU, i'll see if I can find something for yours.
http://www.ez-pg.com/rom-neki-rom-1-0-4-4-3-for-m7-dual-sim-802d-802t-802w.html try this one, it supports your 802T
I suggest once you get a working rom on there, do a backup and then backup your backup to you computer, and then try and get s-off on your phone.

Great, glad its sorted, thanks button is at the bottom right corner of each post :good:
you can use rumrunner to s-off for free whilst your still on HBOOT 2,27 which will make it easy to return your phone to full stock rom if you ever want too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488772
sure. Will definitely try that. Thanks again ...

Good day all
I have been running CM 10.2 on my One for some months. Recently its started playing up so ive decided to go back to stock.
Ive googled the process. Fastboot works OK and see's my One connected OK.
Im having issues figuring out what RUU I should be downloading. Initially I went for RUU_M7_U_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.2
After a number of minutes it failed and said something like it cannot use this on my phone. My phone is a UK purchased unlocked device. Can anyone point me at the correct RUUI should download?
Looking at the fastboot screen I can see that my OS is 2.24.401.8
hboot is 1.54.0000
Please, any pointers to get a stock OS installed and my device booting again.

You can flash this (compatible with your firmware, CID & MID): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
if you want to receive OTAs, you'll need to select "stock recovery" (which will overwrite custom recovery).

If you have unlocked bootloaders then download twrp or cwm and rename to recovery put the file in the fastboot folder.
Then type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
this will flash the custom recovery.

Do one thing install a custom rom like ARHD etc. and then S-off your phone using rumrunner.
This is going to be one of those jobs that just fails and all I end up with is a bricked phone.
I am a mac user and was using a windows XP VM to communicate with me phone using fast boot... When I try to push a recovery image XP fails badly and reboots...
I can't boot camp my mac because I'm running without a CD drive and boot camp needs a CD drive before installation.
Any tips on how to get my phone sorted using a mac?

1- just use mac versions of fastboot & adb, i believe you can find them here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506
(or google for them)
2- do you care about having your phone "out-of-the-box"? that entails much more work. Can you live with an UNLOCKED or RELOCKED bootloader, and possibly the TAMPERED sign?
3- if you don't care about ^^ (2), then just use the Guru Reset ROM, i linked before.
get adb and fastboot working on mac, then in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter recovery
adb push <name of guru>.zip /data/media/0/
then in recovery choose "install" and select the Guru Reset ROM.
Ok so i reloaded the recovery image. Rebooted and hey presto Cyanogenmod 10.2 loaded again. Phone is now working BUT I would still like to go back to stock.
With that in mind I followed your instructions above and tried to load the Guru zip on to the SDCARD. The ADB process finishes and it says its copied the file over but I can never seem to find it whe i load the recovery and try to install from a zip file.
Questions. Am I right in thinking I can continue to load the Guru zip to attempt to get back to stock?
What am i doing wrong?

if your phone is booting up again
just copy the guru.zip to the phone storage from your mac
no need to "push" if your phone is booting up
To confirm, I am now copying the zip over.
Is there a chance of me bricking the phone again or will the Guru zip return the phone to stock and allow OTA updates?

yeah the Guru reset was designed to put the phone back to stock
it uses an Aroma installer .. choose Stock Recovery to be able to receive OTA in the future. but you won't be able to flash any custom roms or Root with the stock recovery
that seemed to do the trick. phone is back stock.
after initial setup t imediately downloaded and installed a small update. rebooted and then asked to download another 4.3 675mb big update. that one seemed to reset the devce to new again. after setup the 2nd time i can see it didnt work as the phone was as if i had just completed the guru install...
thoughts?

Hi, I'm trying to revert my HTC one to stock ROM. I'd previously followed a tutorial on flashing it to GPE, but I can't find (or more likely don't have the smarts) to get it back to a stock ROM..
It's a 3 UK model, H3G__001, and I have been having trouble finding a backup, but have found a RAR file called M7 TWRP Nandroid Backup CID H3G 001 2.24.771.3 .rar from the HTC1guru downloads page.
Trouble is - I don't know exactly how to restore this file, and despite my best googling efforts, I'm stuck.
Can anyone help with a step-by-step ? ( Sorry I hate to have to ask )

Ok. I downloaded the linked CWM zip and renamed it ruu.zip for convenience, but when I try and fastboot flash it, I get :
C:\sdk-tools>fastboot flash zip ruu.zip

Should I revert to using the linked one in the article ? I was thinking the zip you linked would be a closer match ?
If I go down the route of flashing the dev RUU - will I need to do anything else post-flash?
I couldn't find much evidence of this being a working option on a retail phone - but that may be old info....

you can't flash a nandriod backup like a rom
you have to copy it to your phone's clockworkmod/backup folder then restore it from recovery ... same for the TWRP nandriod .. it must be copied to TWRP/BACKUP/YourPhoneSN/Dateofbackup
Like I said lock your bootloader and the Developer edition RUU is your easy out

Ok. so I relocked the bootloader, and grabbed that DEV .exe updater.

Hi - it gets to the update process - step 1 of 5 or so - then blows up. It did say I needed to get the correct version for my phone ?
Could it be CID ?

If I powerdown then back up - it boots back into my GPE fine.
The Nandroid backup I have is a .rar file - is it ok to unpack and repack as a .zip or can I just push the rar ?
Also I can't seem to now unlock my bootloader again - if I run the flash unlocktoken, the screen asking if I want to unlock does not reappear as it did the first time.
Man, I'm scratching my head a lot - sorry for being a dud.

your s-off so we can get this...
first boot to recovery and do a nandroid backup
and then boot the phone back up
then unrar your TWRP backup (that you downloaded) to your pc to a folder called nandroid
you then copy this to the location TWRP/BACKUP/YourPhoneSerialno/Put nandriod here
now reboot recovery and in TWRP choose backup .. nandroid should be their
restore it

Magic - that's the phone booting back to stock - worked brilliantly cheers !
Now to try and get the stock recovery etc back lol.
Thanks for your help bud !
Ah turns out it's not quite that simple. Android wants to get OTA updates but when the phone reboots to do it - it enters twrp recovery.
I need to get the stock recovery back also - so I downloaded what I think is the right version of recovery.img but when I try and fastboot flash it - it fails.
Would I need the phone back unlocked for this? And if so - how do I go about it now?

you can either re-unlock the bootloader with the s-off method (guru bootloader tool) to flash your stock recovery or pack up your recovery.img in a firmware.zip and flash it in ruu mode with a locked bootloader.
To use the guru bootloader tool go to this page: http://www.htc1guru.com/guides/guru-bootloader-reset/
save the zip on your sd card, boot in recovery, select ''install'' and choose the guru bootloader tool. This will open the aroma installer. Chose to unlock bootloader. be careful not turning back s-on with the tool. The tool only work with s-off phones.
edit: oh wait! just realized you are on twrp 2.6.0.1. The tool is intended for 2.6.3.3, not sure if it will work...

Ok. The guru tool ran - but I definitely chose unlock bootloader but it hasnt worked.
Can you clarify the RUU flashing business for the recovery ? I figure if I can get the phone to get itself up to date, I can factory reset it to get rid of any odd lingering mods?
does a firmware.zip need anything other than the .img file in it?

bootloader is unlocked with fastboot not adb, so usb debugging is not required. Btw usb debugging only affect the usb connection when the phone is booted in the OS so its does not affect bootloader unlocking, fastboot commands or adb commands from recovery.

s-on, No Os, unlocked, got twrp. Cant install stock RUU!!
Hi. Im a little bit confused with my HTC__016 One M7, My phone is currently S-On with no Os and no recovery image. I cant transfer a stock ruu to my phone or twrp to install. I have tried using adb and fastboot, I have cleared all caches too. If i boot into recovery and i use twrp to fix permissions it says E: Unable to mount data and cache. I have tried adb sideload aswell and it seems to work but then always fails at the certificate verification.. I assume that this is S-On's fault. How should i proceed? I dont want to hard brick my device, i still have my basebands too thank goodness..
What can I do to fix my phones file system or how can i transfer the stock RUU.. I have tried 3 diferent stock RUUs and they all fail at certificate verification. I would really appreciate the help..
Thanks A lot

sounds like your trying to sideload a RUU.zip .. that won't work
to flash RUU.zip use
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip rom.zip
fastboot flash zip rom.zip <<yes two times
fastboot reboot
you just need the rom.zip in the same folder as fastboot

Basically you are trying to flash a file in the bootloader that is not intended to be flashed that way. Use custom recovery or it may be an update, in that case it needs stock recovery.

It has no recovery on it either, just the bootloader.
Forgot to mention that since you're S-on you'll need to relock your bootloader.

It has to be on your external SD card if you're going to flash it per the posted instructions. Otherwise, connect your phone and computer while in the bootloader. The RUU will need to be on your computer. Double-click the file to start the install process. If you need more info on how to work the bootloader hit the second link in my sig.

I run all my RUUs in fastboot... It's really simple.
Edit: also have you tried just installing a custom recovery from fastboot? Download a recovery.img of your choice. Boot into bootloader. Then in a cmd prompt type (fastboot flash recovery "name of your recovery img") and then enter. Make sure your recovery IMG is in the same folder as fastboot.

I ended just getting a SD card and running the RUU from that and it worked and I'm back in business. yay!
I was trying to get a custom recovery installed but I kept getting errors. I even tried another computer and still same error. I don't know if I was doing something wrong, it kept telling me something about the file size was to large so I just gave up trying that route because I don't know enough about fastboot commands and how to interpret what it's telling me to figure it out myself.
I'm now s-off and running Sinless....so life is grand! lol

Hello,
Okay so I had an HTC one that was stuck on the boot screen. Well I had a feeling it was rooted but was not sure because clorkworkmod always said boot with "root access" which I ignored. So first off I found something called guru reset 2.24.401.8 which was my version of my phone. So I used adb side load to move to my device then installed it. It worked fine and I was excited however it booted to a black screen with only the battery status, reception meter, and time bar. When I tried using recovery again the phone would show a green sign and then a red exclamation mark sign. I tried for so long going into recovery, but to no avail. I used fast boot to flash recovery and erase cache but did not work. I am terribly stuck and need help.

When you flashed the Guru Reset you must have selected "stock recovery" because that is the black screen with green or red triangle. Follow these steps:
Get TWRP 2.6.3.3 from: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
(make sure MD5 is correct, that site does not play nice with download managers)
in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Thanks
I have been able to do it and thank you, but i am having issue with adb my fastboot work and is able to find my devices but adb does not.

ADB works in OS/Android with USB Debugging enabled in Developer Options and in Recovery Mode. It will not work if the phone is in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB.
About to give up
Okay you have been great help, and i need major help i have tried every thing, my phone doesn't boot up properly and just has a black screen, i have tried using guru reset 2.24.401.8 to reset and it doesnt work, i tried with an unlocked bootloader, but with S-On and i read an article saying guru reset should work regardless if it is s-on or s-off. im not sure though. I am not stuck because my phone Hboot is 1.54 and i have tried using rumrunner but doesnt work because my adb only work in recovery. I would like to S-off my phone to be able to install the guru reset. rom. I have tried using RUU's but cant find my radio version. is there any possible way to S-off my phone without an OS to install unto. Or is there any way to re-install my OS i am running out of ideas. Thank you very much!!

There is no way to s-off without a Rom on the phone.
You can push a Rom to the phone using adb in recovery. Which recovery are you using. You should use TWRP 2.6.3.3 to avoid any problems installing the Guru Reset Rom.
Put the Rom in your adb/fastboot folder and rename it to rom.zip. Connect adb in recovery and in the command window type.
Code:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
The command window will appear unresponsive until the push completes several minutes. When it's done install the Rom with twrp recovery.

Here is the only RUU I could find that is a higher version than yours. There have been people who have bricked their phone by jumping version so I have provide the firmware for the version from 2.24.401.8 to RUU 4.19.401.9.
Firmware 3.62.401.1
Firmware 4.19.401.8
RUU 4.19.401.9
To flash the firmware, place the firmware in your adb/fastboot folder, open a command window in your adb/fastboot folder:
Code:
[B][I]adb reboot bootloader[/I][/B]
After that, type:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Type:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot oem rebootRUU [/I][/B]
NOTE: You should see a silver HTC logo come up on your phone after executing this command.
NOTE: if this command freezes, just disconnect the USB cable and hold the power and volume down buttons until the device reboots. Then, repeat the steps above again.
Finally:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash zip [COLOR="Purple"]name_of_firmware.zip[/COLOR][/I][/B]
Repeat the same command: IMPORTANT
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash zip [COLOR="Purple"]name_of_firmware.zip[/COLOR][/I][/B]
NOTE: The green bar on the phone may not go to 100% of the bar ... but If you see completed on your computer command window, wait for a few seconds and move on.
Last Step:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot reboot-bootloader[/I][/B]

After the last firmware reboots, then run the RUU.
Follow @majmoz instructions, but for the record the RUU should work fine after flashing 3.62.401.1 firmware. As the RUU will contain the full firmware up to 4.19.401.9. So no risk of firmware mismatch.

Flash the 3.62.401.1 firmware as per majmoz instructions. Then you can use the RUU to update your phone to kit Kat.
You have to be unlocked to flash Custom software. But the RUU and Firmware are signed Stock files. Because your s-on you must be relocked to flash them

Your command to rebootRUU is incorrect it is case sensitive. You also appear to have an extra "u" in there
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
After this command your phone will reboot to a screen with a silver HTC logo. This is RUU mode

Yes because your phone is not in ruu mode. You cannot flash the firmware in the bootloader.
