My phone is stuck on the white HTC screen/ bootloop. CM11 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I made the mistake of installing the ElementalX kernel on my phone, running CyanogenMod 11. I flashed that kernel. It said to let it reboot, and now it is stuck on the white HTC screen. I tried to factory reset it, but it doesn't work.

nope factory reset wont work, you will need to download and reflash cm11 or take out the boot.img from the cm11 zip and flash that, elemental kernel is for sense and GPe rom's only.

See, that's the problem. I can't access ANYTHING at all. I'm in CWM recovery right now and I have NOTHING in my storage. When I try to install zip, there's not directory, or anything. My computer won't recognize my phone. I flashed tinykernel last night, and I heard about ElementalX and flashed that over it. After the AROMA installation, my phone's screen went blank and now it is stuck on the HTC screen. I can't flash anything at all.

try flash the latest twrp recovery: https://dl.twrp.me/m7/twrp-2.8.6.0-m7.img
fastboot flash recovery (name of recovery).img
fastboot erase cache (this is important)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
now try and enter recovery, main recovery screen only, plug your phone into your computer and see if it opens up on your computer.
Could you also post your fastboot getvar all without imei and serial number please.

My computer doesn't recognize my phone. It's the one thing that's annoying me.

not at all, not even in the bootloader fastbootUSB mode ? which HBOOT are you on, it will say in the bootloader ?
also, does device manager show anything at all, unknown device or one or anything to do with your phone at all ?

Check out Q1 and Q2 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52135024&postcount=2
be sure to read all of Q2 properly, it may not seem relevant at first.

I got to install TWRP recovery and erase cache. The only thing left is for my computer to recognize my phone so I can flash a custom ROM.

[Q] HTC One Bricked (bootloop)

Hello folks,
During update from Revolution HD 3.4 to 3.5 something went wrong and process stopped before it got finished. Now I ended up in bootloop, even recovery is not working. I've tried to use RUU but failed on CID verification as I'm having the phone from 3 IE. Is any chance to bring it back to life or i just got very expensive paper weight ?
Or if anyone can provide RUU for 3 IE I'm willing to pay for it.
Bad day, bad day...
Thank you for any advice.

What I have done.
1.) Unlocked, re-locked bootloader.. (i think this did the trick, full wipe ?)
2.) Wiped cache
3.) Re-flash clockworkmod
4.) Upload ROM using sideload.
Now the phone is back. I hope i will not break something again.
Hi, I am having the same issue with my phone as of right now. I tried re-locking bootloader and then unlocking again and also reflashing clockwork and I am still getting the bootloop and cannot access recovery (flashes for 0.1 secs and then disappears).
What exactly did you do to fix the issue?

Hi Riyal,
I have fixed that issue with fastboot erase cache. Now, I am having a problem loading a ROM because it states in recovery that it "can't mount SD card"?
Figured it out, I just had to ADB push a stock rom and then re-wipe/re-flash

scared me lol first HTC device, brand new, and I thought I broke it.
P.S I realized that REVOHD uses AROMA, that's why it wouldn't sideload.... Am I Rite?

My HTC One device is actually suffering the same problem.
I bought my HTC One Sprint(Sim-Free Edition) in the US and got it to India.
But after I inserted my Indian Sim it said ''SIM LOCK ENABLED''.....I just got frustrated and
rooted the device and tried to install ''Android RevolutionHD (Odexed)'' Stock ROM with the help of TWRP.
But after I installed the stock rom, my device is just showing the HTC symbol and hanging there itself.
It Hangs there for around 6-7mins and reboots and the same happens again.
The only thing I can do is to get in to the bootloader and Power OFF the Device.
Any Help???? Please..... just having a costly paper weight since 2 weeks.
Please need help urgently....!!!

Now connect you phone with pc with your phone booted in fastboot/bootloader,
Later flash boot.img by following command
"Fastboot flash boot boot.img"
Reboot and your done
If you do not know how to use abd search for it

I'm stuck on the same boat :\
I was able to finally boot into CWM recovery but I'm getting write errors all over the place.
I used the AIO Kit to re-lock the bootloader and unlock it - Reflashed CWM - Tried to sideload ARHD 10.0 but the DOS prompt errors out saying that it cannot find my device.
Little help?

i was going through the same thing yesterday and i thought i had bricked my phone. what i did that finally worked, was unplugging the usb, restarting the computer, reinstalling htc drivers, then restarting the computer, then using a different usb port. i was finally able to sideload ARHD whereas before i could do fastboot commands, but it wasn't responding to the sideload, and wasn't able to mount the sdcard, so i thought i was screwed. :good:

Thanks for the tip, I was able to get back into AROMA but the original issue that got me to this point came up again. Aroma installer runs and during the install it kicks itself out and sends me back to recovery, so the installer doesn't complete. It gets to about 30% and craps out just after it writes system data and starts to install the .apk's. Screen goes black and it reboots itself and sends me to recovery.

Phone has no O/S installed, cannot detect phone to put rom zip on phone. please help

I believe I overwiped my phone, it has no rom on it now, and when I plug it into the computer, it makes the noise, but will not show up in windows explorer. I am able to boot into recovery, TRWN, although I can't do anything from there because I have no rom to install. I have tried installing the latest HTC drivers, using a different cord, disabling antivirus, pretty much everything previously listed in these forums. Is there a way to use the command prompt to send a rom over to the phone? Please help.

donwload the all in one toolkit use it to erase cache then install recovery. after that either mount usb otg and copy rom to sd or sideload a rom. all in one toolkit automates everything you need to do:good::good:
I wish I could say that worked, however when I try to use the AIO toolkit, when it launces the command prompt it says 'device not found.' same problem as windows. There has to be a way to force a file on there. Any ideas? Again, I can boot to recovery but have no zip on the phone memory to flash.

if it says device not found press the power button once and try again. it will say once in fastboot close the first window if you close the first window and nothing happens then press power and it should start
if your in fastboot options should be----bootloader----reboot----reboot bootloader----power down

Have you used this command?
Code:
adb sideload /path/to/rom.zip
If yes, it will work.
Maybe sideload.zip contains rom and if sideload.zip don't have meta-inf it will not flashed

OK, so I didn't say yes to the question this time after sideloading android revolution. same thing. goes blank then reboots to bootloader menu. So I tried sideloading viperrom 1.04. This time after it finished sideloading it randomly installed instelfl, and now viperrom is installed, its booting up to the phone now finally, yet before anything can initialize, it just reboots again. It's been caught in this boot loop about ten minutes now. No end in sight. Any ideas?
ViperRom from Sprint or AT&T one forum?
Your phone is branded or no-brand?
However, boot into recovery, and use this command:
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard
, then flash it
Also, I have now tried flashing and installing TrickDroid which also boots to the O/S but then after a few seconds reboots and starts all over again. I just let it run, and it boots, then reboots, over, and over, and over again. Any ideas?

[Q] Soft bricked my HTC ONE, help plz.

Hello guys,
So i unlocked the bootloader, used TWRP recovery, made a nandroid back up, saved a copy of back up on my pc and then flash the Trickdroid rom. Every thing went smoothly till then, as the proximity sensor wasnt working, i installed the xposed framework then went into recovery and flashed the zip file for it. After the reboot, the phone hung on HTC one boot screen, i used the Vol down + power button but the phone is just not switching on in recovery or anything. Connected to my PC, gave adb reboot recovery but it says "device not found". Did the vol+power thing in light as well but didnt help.
What should i do? Please help.

I now know the mistake i did, i flashed trick droid on my one and i was coming from stock 4.1.2. Developer had mentioned that for those coming from 4.1.2, we need to first wipe, install rom, do 1 boot cycle and then wipe again, i missed the last part hence got stuck at the boot screen.
I tried adb but it didnt work, so i used fastboot reboot command and the phone came alive, after which went to recovery and restored my nandroid. What happened to your device?
Boot into bootloader by turning off device and keeping volume down pressed, and then connect your device to your pc so you see "fastboot usb" in red, and then type "fastboot erase cache" followed by "fastboot reboot"

If you dont have any nandroid backups then im afraid theres really nothing you can do besides factory reset..go into the bootloader and try reseting the phone, see if that works.
The reason your computer doesnt read your phone is normally a drivers issues. Heres what you can do to get your computer to notice your phone.
download the file from here and extract the whole FOLDER to your desktop: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996051
1. boot into recovery
2. connect your phone to the computer
3. go to device manager, just search for it
4. In other devices, there should be something called android phone, open it, and choose update drivers
5. instead of letting the computer search for the drivers, choose the second option to choose your own
6. choose the folder, the whole folder, and your driver, and click install
Now your phone should be recognized by your computer, check by using adb devices in command. If it works, go from there, try pushing xposed disabler, or push a nandroid to your device and restore.

you should download it and use erase cache option then reinstall recovery and see if that helps but i think you will probably end up having to format sd. if you have htc sync it might be able to get some of the stuff from sd before you format

it seems like your computer recognizes your device then. Go into recovery, then from your computer type adb devices, does it show your device?

yes! for awhile it didn't. now it does
Had this same exact problem, AIO helped me , i had installed TWRP and the AIO opened recovery, then chose recovery and then tried side loading, while doing i then sideloaded the ARHD and voila am back to normal.
The problem and my question is , i flashed with bulletproof kernel and then that created all the problem. now somehow it has booted and i still have bulletproof kernel. Am scared to reboot (am a noob all over again since i bought wp) , if i flash it with a stock kernel deodexed or odexed will that create a problem? I have ARHD10.2 Stock ROM. Please advice.

[Q] Rooting problems

Hello XDA I'm new to these forums but i'm hoping you can help me out.
So basically I was following a youtube video I was linked to by a guide on here on how to root my One. and everything was going smoothly and then i got to the stage where i was to boot into recovery mode so i could load into twrp. But what happens on my phone now is the loading screen for recovery mode where it says for developers only ect. will just hang there for a while then the phone will shut off and boot back into regular mode. could use some help. I wouldn't mind resetting and starting fresh if that's what's needed im just not sure how to. thank you guys!

do you have sdk tools installed on your computer.
make sure usb debugging is on, apperently you do.
did you put the recovery image in the folder where fastboot is then run cmd(as administrator) and cd to that folder(example/:cd c:/Program Files/Android/android-sdk/platform-tools or where ever you have it)then adb reboot bootloader>enter----Then fastboot flash recovery(name of recovery image).img>enter--- then type fastboot reboot recovery
If you are unlocked already, watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRkAHw_GmIs&feature=youtube_gdata_player

no i wouldn't think you do, it just overwrites the other, you're sure your bootloader is unlocked, check in settings under development option to make sure debugging is on.man you got me stumped here.

Are you typing "fastboot erase cache" without the quotes after you flash the recovery?

NO, you are NOT retarded, you install recovery, then su to get root, for all intent and purposes you're doing it all right, just can't figure out why it's not working, one more redundant question, you have fastboot under power settings disabled?? Just tryin to cover all the bases
you are installing the recovery for the m7wls(m7spr)?

Sorry i guess i phrased that wrong. i'm sure fastboot is unchecked, i was asking about the second part of your post, about "you are installing the recovery for the m7wls(m7spr)?"

[SOLVED] Crap! Phone stuck on HTC logo, accidentally did a full delete from recovery.

I ****ed up. I accidentally deleted everything from the bootloader menu. I was just about to flash a ROM onto the phone and forgot about it not having an SD card so all the internal data was wiped.
The phone is now always on and stuck on the green HTC logo with quietly brilliant written underneath.
Just before this the bootloader was unlocked and the phone was S-OFF. When I plug the phone into my PC it does not get recognized. Is there anything I can do via fastboot or adb to get something back onto the phone? I can't access recovery because it's stuck on the logo. Sometimes when I hold the power button the screen will go black but moments later it will go back to the HTC logo. I assume I'm in some sort of bootloop but I have no idea.
Is there anything I can do? This is an absolute nightmare.
I've tried fastboot reboot-bootloader but that says < Waiting for device >.
I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I just got into recovery. Don't want to lose my chance, what should be my next step?
Sideload a Rom and install it! You use TWRP?

Yes, you should install now with sideload. In TWRP under "Advanced" in CWM based recoveries under install zip/from sideload
But if there is no connection between ADB and your device it won't work.
Wait for a minute when it is connected and maybe the driver will get re-installed so sideload might work then.

Yes I'm using TWRP.
I did a sideload of a Paranoid Android ROM. After it completed I tried a reboot but the device still warns me that there is no OS installed so I haven't done it yet. Although it said the install completed I'm worried it may not have as a result of this message.
Ok rebooting did in fact boot into the ROM. All is well.
I love you all.
It's stories like this that keep giving us beginners the courage to continue trying new things. This forum has to be one of the friendliest I've found.
