Miui v6 - Moto X Q&A

Guys please someone have to port this rom for the xt1058, please

Have you ever used MIUI before?
Granted I've not tried it in nearly two years, but it was consistently the most sluggish ROM I ever used.
It can be pretty, but there's always some icons that aren't themed.

CustomRoms FRF50/72, slower than official?

I just wanted a few more opinions on this,
I tried the many custom Froyo roms out there and they all seem pretty sluggish compared to the official froyo 2.2 rom. I have Launcher Pro installed and boy the official froyo is lightning fast.
Is anyone else noticing this lack in speed/performance or maybe I am not putting in the correct settings? I tried kings rom, it was choppy compared to Original, AsimRom (themed) also choppy again compared to Original and Modaco's Rom didnt have the Phone App on my phone so I didnt bother installing it again. Please do not think I am complaining, I just needed a third party opinion, maybe I do not have the right settings on. I really want to have deodexed with other features that come with Custom roms.
Thanks
Official??
not customized, only recooked for rooted phones.

ROM usage experiences

There are so many roms available, but which is the fastest and most stable rom, whether it is eclair or a froyo mod? Since battery has been an issue for most of the roms available, we have to know which rom has the best battery life.
For me, the fastest rom I've encountered was the froyo mod 2.1
However, battery wise, the rom that uses the least amt of power for me was the normal GOT rom with no other roms applied.
Anyone feels otherwise? Feel free to share your experiences with the available roms so to give others an idea of what to expect on other roms.
Base on my personal experience, I think FroyoMod rocks (beside that small lag after undocking that I experience). the battery life is a-okay, not stellar, but good enough.
Last time I tried GOT the rom was really unstable and I had a hard time reflash to Eclair. :/
Will wait for MIUI, i love the launcher.
I have been using Telus Lite for the last few months, with general O/C at 900mhz and i'm very pleased. Average battery life i can stretch is 2 days with about 5-6 hours of wifi use.
I dont have a data plan, so take that into consideration, and screen brightness is always minimum. dont use it as an mp3 player. About 1 hour of talk in 2 days, about 30 - 50 texts / day. And i'm always using my calendar and making notes on the device.
Very pleased.
fastest rom
i tried most of the roms available here, maybe all .
i searched for the fastest mod, that could let my milestone look superior, and high end. no teering , no slow skipping trough screens, a drawer that wont jerk when scrolling trow apps.
,
this is the results of my research:
Eclair
The fastest eclair mod is most likely Telus Lite rom, i have never seen a rom fast as this one.
only problem: it will get slower with k9mail + pure messenger widget
so i skipped to froyo roms, i thought maybe the ram and overall system managment would be improved. :/ not really. maybe a little bit.
Froyo
The fastest froyo mod was cronos 1.5 , i waited passionly for v1.6 but it was in my oppnion too buggy. maybe just on my phone :/
now i am using the newest cyanogenmod, but i am still not satisfied. maybe i am expecting too much of a milestone overclocked to 1.1 ghz
the best batterylife has cronos v1.5
this is how i solved the drawer issue ( jerking around no more, maybe just a little tiny little bit):
i did it with the adw launcher, maybe launcher pro will give the same result.
in portraint mode, 3 apps in arow, in landscape mode 4 apps in a row, and drawer background just a little bit trancparent, if too much it seems to get laggy again, maybe my imagination...
if there is someone out there, that could make a froyo rom, that is slim, and fast as telsus lite rom, it would make the number one rom on xda developers.
like i said i tested all roms with a cpu frequenzy of 1.1 ghz. but still no setisfying
result.
do anybody know who made the telus lite rom, and would he do a froyo lite rom ?
jlove I agree on the Telus, I had been using it as my first rom after testing every eclair/bastardized froyos. very fast, stable.
however now as froyo (beta) came out I switched to FroyoMODv1... for me it is still best Froyo build as it seems very clean. No fancy addons. I love vanilla roms.
btw I didn't try cronos - and I won't. It is month till official release of Froyo. I'm just waiting with MODv1...
btw I always use the launcher pro - it seems as the most fluent of those I've tried (google default, adw, MIUI).

Too bad telus isn't vanilla, it has it's own font and theme black icons and everything - both are big minus for usability.
I'm craving for very fast very clean tweaked rom.
Personally I have all animations turned off just to gain some performance. Isn't there anyone here who wants just pure speed(+battery life ofc)? Any animation, any fancy feature that I don't REALLY need is an obstacle when I try to get the job done on my phone.
when is the official froyo coming out for the asia region, or perhaps it doesn't matter cos everybody can still download them of the motorola sbf files website?
What's sad is people have given up on making 2.1 ROMs good. A lot of them had bugs here and there. CM6 is probably one of the best managed ROMs out there, but I know many people aren't ready to commit to Froyo.
I myself have sacrificed battery life for Nadlabak's awesome support/updates. I do wish I could get a bit more juice out of daily use though.
fastest rom
like everyday, since i brought my milestone, i was digging for gold in xda developers . i found some good constalation a couple of days ago.
i have now a system that is running fast and stable, and the drawer isnt laggy anymore.
the best results i get with latest roms out here:
CM6 + OH!NO update * 1,1 ghz + launcherproplus 8.1.1 + widgets² = very fast stable, and very smotth. ----> better then an iphone
launcherproplus : Search it and you will find it forsure _' )
i searched for long and this is the setting, that had setisfied me. its the best result you can get for now.!!!!!!!
good luck

Best MIUI ROM

I am currently on Virtuous ROM and am getting sick and tired of sense 3.0. I have tried CM7 before and I didn't like it that much mainly because of the lack of a touch to focus camera, the buttons at the bottom wouldn't turn and a few other minor things that added up. But I am A BIG FAN of the launcher on the MIUI ROMS, can someone tell me the name of it or is it just a direct port of touch wiz? Anyways, there seem to be a lot of them but can someone tell me the one with the best speed, battery life, and gets updated regularly?
Thanks in advance,
Aodhan
The best MIUI ROM would be the officially supported one.

I used it for a couple hours but I found CM7 to be more polished. The launcher also wasn't as smooth as LauncherPro. I can't really comment on anything else except the MIUI Team will have a new release every Friday.
It's a nice ROM, it's just not to my taste.
Thanks, I tried it out but it just wasn't there yet. Plus the port to Incredible S needs some serious working on.
What about Mike's ARHD ROM without Sense?
Im using it and it's very fast, smooth and with good battery life.
MIUI is beautifull ROM, but couldn`t make dialer support russian simbols. Without that it`s kinda usless for me.

I'm pretty sure that one isn't any more "official" than any other one on the forum. I don't think miui-us has any official affiliation with the actual MIUI team in China, they're just a group that happens to support a lot of phones.

Anyone Else Still Using BlackCNA?

I posted a thread here when I first got my Note not that long ago asking which rom was the best for gaming. Someone said BlackCNA. I've since ping-ponged between many different roms including the latest JB leaks. There are things I love about all of them and things I will miss about them but today I went back to BlackCNA and after debloating it and installing an ancient version of the Kernel That Shall Not Be Named I have discovered that, yes, it is still the THE fastest rom for gaming. Need for Speed Most Wanted with all effects enabled and The Dark Knight Rises both just fly by on this thing. The newest CM10 roms do wel with it too, but they aren't quite as fast ... so any of you in my shoes, want a rom primarily for gaming .... try BlackCNA!
It's a very good rom

ROM Discussions

Hey guys,
I've had my T-Mobile S5 for about 2 months, bought it used after my S4 drowned in a swimming pool. So far I love the thing, and I've been trying lots of ROMs, but I can't seem to find one that matches the speed or battery life of the stock! What's up with that?
Memorable roms I've tried:
Cyanogenmod 12.1 Nightly
Tesla ROM for S5
TipsyOS for S5
All of these roms were stable, but they felt slow. Especially from waking the device while locked, it always seemed to take a few seconds for the display to pop up, as opposed to the almost instantaneous response from the stock (debloated) T-Mobile rom. Another issue was battery life, with the stock debloated rom I get insane battery life. Like I can use it all day and still have 60%+ when I get home from work. With the other roms I never had more than 20%. I gave each rom several days to "settle" but nothing seemed to change.
I'm skeptical that roms based on CM12.1 would be any faster/better, but I'm willing to try. I think AICP would be my next choice.
What do you guys have to say? Any fast/good roms out there for the S5 that don't kill battery life?
I found the same, tried a few popular custom ROMs, but none of them matched the smoothness, stability or battery life of stock
Samsung have really optimised their stock ROMs
I felt the same for a long time
I've felt mostly the same for the most part. I've had my gs 5 since the day it came out for tmobile. I really like it and all. But I've really been on the prowl for a good custom rom. Most of the best things aren't as stable as stock touchwiz.
I mean don't get me wrong there are a ton of custom roms (at least right now, a year ago not so much).
That said I have done extensive testing of alot of aosp roms. MY findings are below:
- The most stable rom I've used was probably a version of sokp rom from all the way back in may. Its not perfect, but pretty quick. I used it for 6 months before it suddenly started giving me bootloops which I think I caused by messing with xposed and my kernel. Overall, It has probably the best battery life and is the least volatile, but has little features and is outdated. Another thing to note is that I used ktoonez kernel with this so that maybe why battery life was better.

-Another rom that I used frequently, and am currently using is Fusion rom. Its ever so slightly more buggy, and you have to find your own gapps but still stable. Not to mention that fusion probably has more features than any other custom rom out there. I cant speak for the battery life just yet, but its bearable. Another plus is their still updating it! Its also the fastest of the three IMO.

- The last custom rom you should look into is dirty unicorns. Its not that big so you proabably havent heard of it, but its just as stable as the sokp rom. It has alot more features though, and is still updated frequently. Has alotta bloat though for an aosp rom, as isn't particularly fast for a custom rom.

Based on your memorable roms, I might also suggest looking into AICP which is suuuuuuupppper fast, faster than alotta roms but still only on nightlies.
Let me know what you think, and sorry for the long post I just got carried away.
I hope this helped
it's a useful subject indeed
thanks again

Long posts are the best posts! Anyway, the only reason I'm hesitant to try AICP is because it's CM based, and I had Bluetooth issues with the official CM. (I use Bluetooth every day for hours)
I think I'll try at least Fusion Rom, thanks for the insight! I'm hoping that SlimRoms will make a comeback and *hopefully* add support for our device. I used slim on a previous phone and it was phenomenal.
