My phone is EVA-L09C212B141 and I want to know if it the latest version.
It has EMUI 4.1 on Android 6.0
Update's are pushed out based on IMEI number, you can manually change your cust to other areas yes, but that won't mean you can get OTA's for that new cust, it just means you will likely stop getting the OTA's for your original version.
You can often have some luck changing roms within the same CUST though, so instead of being on a vodafone C432, go to a normal unbranded C432.
Been working towards debranding my P9 from L09C34 (optus/au) to L09C636 (hw/asia).
Tried following all the guides and consistently ending up with C900 firmware, but managed to successfully roll back to the original C34, with version number displayed correctly on the phone.
My question is this:
In the C34 firmware that came with the phone (and that i've been using to roll back) AND the C636 firmware, BOTH firmwares have only two lines in VERLIST.IMG:
EVA_C900B000
EVA_Global
How then, does this part of the debrand process affect the version number displaying correctly, if both the successful original firmware and the unsuccessful C636 firmware have the same entries?
I had the same issue with wife's P9 Optus rom is based on the Global Version. EVA_C900 you need to flash both rom and data partition

Thanks. I managed to successfully get back to the Optus firmware with the correct version displaying - but I still haven't cracked the de-brand without it showing C900 firmware - from what I read, C900 is a cross-flash firmware and will not get OTA updates. My main concern was getting the Nougat update, which has apparently started appearing on the unbranded devices.
Did you manage to de-brand your wife's phone to C636? Does it show the correct firmware version in 'about phone'?
I tried to debrand my C34 to C636 as well but ultimately, I gave up on it and went to the debranded C432 UK version. There are plenty of info on this forum on how to do it and there is no lose in functionality and it works perfectly fine with the AU carriers. Realistically, apart from the build having C432 instead of C636, you wouldnt see or feel a difference between the 2 models. If anything, C432 will get updates sooner than C636 (as proven with Nougat).

Out of the box my x527 (int. /russia version) device came with 5.8.16S ROM.
After making an update the 5.8.19S all boot screen were written in cyrrily.
Boot screen/recovery screen/ boot messages preparing and so.
I didn't found a description to switch this to english or whatever...
But it was still a x527 version device.
I can not read cyrillic.
So I made a update to the x526 5.8.19S because, this is the North american version.
All works fine except that is now a x526 device.
(be aware, build date of x526 NA 5.8.19S is earlier than x527 RU/Int 5.8.19S and
update is checking build date before proceeding)
Anyone knows if this can be changed back ?
If yes, how ?

go here https://devs-lab.com/download-letv-official-stock-rom.html and download the rom for x527 and flash it through twrp it may fail in first attempt try 5-6 ..i myself got in 3 attempts now in my x526 im using 527 no issues working fine....so offcourse it will work for ur device too
and i think my boot loader got locked because after flashing sucessfully i got a message saying i ll get the update in 1 month from le eco. thanx

As indicated in the title, I have a huawei p9 L09 cust 40, the wifi and BT are not working, I don't know if it's a hw or Fw problem, so I'm trying to update to nougat or any other firmware to find out if it's a sw problem, but I've tried too many firmwares and the flashing process fails. Current firmware build number is: EVA-L09C40B196.
1- What Firmware should I use to upgrade to any other version of Marshmallow or to nougat?
2- Can I change the cust number to get more compatible firmwares and how to do so?
I've created a huawei ID inorder to unlock my bootloader, but when I try to login using this id, the site tells me that either the id or the password is wrong, while I've used this ID in my P9 without any error! what's wrong?

I had trouble with getting bootloader code too. I got my bootloader code by emailing Huawei direct through the hiCare app. Got it within 2 days. Hope this helps.

First, I'd like to understand what are base, cust and preload. I suppose base is the rom, but what are cust and preload ?
Next, is it possible to have a base on v11 and cust / preload on v10 ? (I suppose not)
Finally, I try to understand how regions work. When I downgraded, I did'nt need to use cust and preload (why ?), but they're now on v10 with the region code C432 (Europe). The problem is that I don't find any C432 cust and preload on v11. Is it a problem if I use C578 ones (canada) ? I find a compatible version for both, according to firmware finder installed on my phone. What does region changes ?
