Stuck for quick reference and sharing

I will post mine later, need my home computer to get some of my old items on but I plan on trying to build out a new icon set over the weekend for this.

Basically I brought over a similar theme design from my HTC Desire. Still tweaking the dock icon fonts and wall paper. It's a work in progress.

Nexus S is my first android phone. Everyone's got amazing screens. How do i get one of these? All the help and suggestions are highly appreciated.

This is where I started, great for seeing many of the different widgets available to you.

Wallpaper you just need to search around but wallbase.net has been my go to.
Finally, to change dock icons and various other things, I use Launcher Pro, you can get it in the market. My dock icons I made myself.

welcome to the android community
in a nutshell...read, everything you need to know is in this forum. you can do slight modifications with new launchers (adw or launcher pro) but to really make significant changes (complete themes, fonts,etc) you will need to root. (needed to do screen captures as well)

The included News & Weather app

Hi all, I have had to jump camps due to vodafail not being able to provide a signal/service to me, as a result they demanded the return of the handset
As a result I have a new handset, a new provider and I can make and receive calls and SMS.
But I miss a few things from the HTC stock rom, main one being the combined news and weather app, anyone know the name? I have my leedroid roms (still) so I can pick it out of that, but for the lif eof me cannot figure out which it is, I am hoping it is NOT HTC Sense specific...
Any help appreciated chaps

No worries. I use that app as well as I prefer it over the others I've tried.

Transparent and Other Themed News and Weather apk

In case anyone wants it, this is a news and weather apk that def works on the xoom. If anyone wants to include in their rom please give credit where credit is due.
For the few that may have any problems with the original apk here is the new (signed genie apk) optimized one!
ANDDDD for those who want an optimized widget (RC2) with the normal gray background here you go!
I know this is a lot of news and weather widgets LOL I promise I am moving on to bigger things But I love blue and this is for anyone else that does too! I can do other colors if anyone wants, just ask, I would be happy! All i ask is that you hit the thanks button if you like, thank you!

Hello, no you do not have to be rooted to install launcher pro. I like ADW ex it seems more intuitive but launch pro is good too. Hope this helps.

Thanks. The idea for me is to have everything on one screen and with Launcher Pro, you get the extra screen (notice no borders) and the widgets can be resized.
You do not need root to install launcher Pro but keep in mind it is not designed for tablets so some tweaking of the settings is necessary. There is a thread on this already I think in Xoom General forums which covers this.
Also, the background is using the Live Aquarium live wallpaper. I have not noticed any lag with Launcher Pro or this live Wallpaper as others have reported. It may be because I only use one home screen.

It was made specifically for the xoom, I can put up and APK for your thunderbolt when i get home, i am currently at work right now, if no one else does it by the time i get home.

last time.. i've been looking for a good launcher that lets me change icons.. not thru a specific pack but individualy. so i just can choose the icon thry quickpic or something like that.

Very interested in these launchers since I'm desperately searching for one right now... However, I wish there were screenshots of each launcher since I don't know some of them like Huawei and Launcher 2.0,etc

buddies...please note, i am just sharing them. i don't have the OB now (i sold it off) and seldom get it since the person i sold it to is a friend of mine.
he gives me the cell for a day or two for modding.
i cannot install each launcher and give screenshots.
hope you understand.

i'm just going to google some and give some of these launchers a try..
anyway.. i still think it was stupid to sell your OB!

When I try to install some launcher (the ones in .zip) it tells me unable to parse blah blah blah...

You should push launcher 2 into system/app and set access rights. You cannot install that apk. I'm currently using this launcher and I like it a lot - very fast, nice categories in drawer (you can create and manage by yourself). I'm really interested in some launchers (Huawei, Dell)...

anybody got the screen shots for the stock huawei launcher in action?... trying to make my U8665 as "huawei" as possible (weird right lol
) already got the keybourd... also if any more stock huawei apks come to mind shoot them my way, this device only had the freakin POTER-LOCKSCREEN
