[Q] Can't receive OTA updates - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, my problem is with OTA updates, no matter which version or country the firmware is, i do not receive update notifications ... I have a theory, but want the experts to refuse or approve it: in the system data, in "System Version" says "amxcl" and I think that that's the problem... is very possible that im wrong, but if not so, is there any way to remove that text?
* I know that now i have the last version, but the problem happen even in 4.4.4.
* My local dealer is Movistar Chile, so modem is latam.
* im sorry about my bad english.
Thanks in advance =D

[Q] Determine country of origin

Hey all,
how do I determine the country of origin of my Note?
I got it second hand and then flashed stock ROMS from where ever got the first update. Want to hand the phone on to a non-techy relative so want the country of Origin ROM for OTA updates.
How can I find this out?
I checked the IMEI against
http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr
But it just says EUROPE.
Any ideas?

SM-N9600 CSC Change and Flashing Help

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about change my Note 9 (Brazilian version) firmware for a non carrier branded firmware in order to get rid of the carrier's bloatwares and also to get more often and recent updates.
Currently my device is running the following configuration: Current Version (when I try OTA update) N9600ZHS1ASB2/N9600OWA1ARK1/N9600ZCU1ARK1, Baseband N9600ZCU1ARK1, Build Number M1AJQ.N9600ZHS1ASB2, Service Provider Sw ver SAOMC_SM-N9600_OWA_ZTA_00_0025 ZTA/ZTA, ZTA/ZTA.
I've noticed at Sammobile that the Brazilian not carrier branded version of Android 9 Pie was just released two days ago.
As I run every one of my devices in English, the language of the firmware doesn't matter to much.
I would like to know what firmware versions I can put on my device without messing with the Knox "fuse". Can the ZTO version available in Sammobile be flashed on my device without any problems with Knox?
There are any other country firmware that I can flash on my device without messing with Knox and that could bring me OTA updates more often and in a more timely manner?
If any of the above mentioned options is viable, can someone help me with flashing in order to me get it done right? I already used Odin in the past, so, I think that just a brief explanation of what files are needed and if exists some kind of think that I need to pay special attention on the process (for example, found somewhere on internet someone that says that there are differences is the device is wiped or factory reseted after the update or not).
I really appreciate if someone could help me.

Pode fazer que não dá problema nenhum em trocar pra ZTO.. lá no sammobile do lado direito da pagina de download da firmware, tem os passo a passo do Odin.

I´m Brazilian too...
You can install Pie rom ZTO from sammobile using HOME_CSC if you dont want to loose your files, but I never use HOME_CSC when I change to another Android version...
You will not to loose nothing.

Will I get OTA updates?

Hello! I have an S10 but it's CSC is Austria. Since I live in Bulgaria, I want to flash stock firmware through Odin. Am I going to still get OTA updates when they are available for my country and is it possible that my data isn't wiped?
EDIT: I flashed the firmware, everything went fine and most importantly I kept my data!
Why bother with risky processes , at some point or time , your phone will receive the OTA update.......
yes you can pass the csc for bulgaria without problems just to not lose your data you will pass the HOME _CSC.
receive the OTA update normally...

LMV405UA moved to Europe - no Updates / Android 10

Hello guys,
sorry for my imperfect English...
I bought my brandnew LG V40 (AT&T - LMV405UA) as "unlocked / GLOBAL Version" in NY in May 2020.
I moved back to germany again and didn't get any software support. LG won't help me. I should move to US again to get updates OTA (!!!).
I tried LGUP, LG flashtool but the V405UA30c_00_VZW_US_OP_0814 .kdz file doesn't work with some dll on the phone. I don't really want to root the phone because I would lose my warranty.
Is there a *.kdz file available to get my phone updated?
If not, what are your suggestions?
Big thanks in advance! ✌

Well, your at&t device won't update if you're not on an at&t network, which in Germany, you're not going to be lol.
at&t does not make it's kdz available, to anyone, anywhere. But there are some 'back-ups' people have done that you could, using other methods, flash to the device. You'd have to use something like qfil, and be sure not to flash over the critical partitions that hold your imei and s/n.
vzw does make their kdz avail, as u know, but to crossflash to vzw you'd need the correct version of lgup and it's dll. That's not too hard to find. But does vzw rom have the bands you need in Germany?
I think you'd be better off with a version of EBW rom which has German variants, and also I think is on 10.
As far as warranty goes... honestly, u have an at&t device, in Germany, forget it. I highly doubt you'd ever receive warranty help from an mfg in US. I'd bet that would be their first excuse, if yer not in the US, they can't help you.
cheers
Thanks AsitLies!
No good news for me - but you're right...
