Hello, I was downgrading a XT 1095 from 5.1 to 5.0 by flashing the system image found on Motorola's website and using Motorola's instructions. The phone goes thorough the normal boot sequence and then the screen goes blank. The potentially good news is that I can still access fastboot and recovery mode. Am I bricked? Thanks for any help.
Edit: never mind. I wiped all user data in recovery and that seems to have done the trick.

can somebody please help me? my screen just went black at work today and it does nothing at all now. if I hold the power button it vibrates once. if I hold power+volume down I get to recovery. I tried to reboot from there and I get the unlocked bootloader warning screen and from there it just goes to a black screen. so I get back to recovery and installed my back up and that didn't help at all. somebody please help me.
So the bootloader is unlocked, what else have you done to the phone?
You may need to reflash it with rsdlite.
OP you need to provide more details. are you getting the M logo? is it bootlooping? is the phone doing ANYTHING but getting in to recovery?
load the fastboot menu and use mfastboot to flash the system, boot and recovery images. you should be able to bring the phone back to life without losing data.

the only thing ive done to the phone is put xposed framework on it and gravity box. that was prob a month ago tho. this is the first prob ive had with the phone.
You may want to follow this guide to return the phone to stock firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446515
You could also try commenting out the line that overwrites user data so you don't lose your data.
Try plugging your phone into the original charger and then boot to recovery, from their try rebooting while still plugged in. If that doesn't work try this again but wipe just the caches and reboot while plugged in. I have had a screen go black before on other devices and plugging the original charger(car and most others didn't work) in and booting to recovery then rebooting would get it working again.
PS When you boot to recovery check your battery level.
well...I used the moto x toolkit and returned to stock using that. everything booted up. so far everything is looking good. lost all my data but that's not that big of a deal.

You had Android L originally correct? Did you know that in the changelog for the OTA that it says you CAN'T downgrade to another version of android after the update? I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you can flash a 4.4.4 system image anymore. So now you might have to wait for the System Image of Lollipop for the XT1064 to be released. I don't know how long that might be.
What were the failures you faced when you tried to flash the system images? Do you remember if anything flashed at all?
Also, the root method for the XT1064 causes takes it's time to boot past the unlocked bootloader warning; as NiekoNieves said. If you know nothing was flashed then you could leave it on for a few minutes and check if it boots into L.
Hi
I have an AT&T XT1058 with locked bootloader, on 4.4.4
I tried to rest it to factory, but it got stuck on 'Erasing...' (with the little droid) for more than an hour, so I reset it.
Since then it won't boot, only keep stuck on 'Erasing...'. I've tried reflashing it with ATT_XT1058_4.4.4-KXA21.12-L1.26_CFC_1FF both using RSD lite and manually using mfastboot, but no luck - the phone still boots to 'Erasing...' and sometimes after that to the recovery.
I didn't find anything in relevant threads. Does anyone have an idea?
Selecting 'Factory' in the bootloader seemed to fix it.
It is more comlicated than that
The phone does boot after selecting 'factory' in bootloader, but only once - turning the phone off and on again brings it back to its 'erasing...' state. Besides that the phone seems to not be able to charge the battery

Were you able to get this resolved? I have a xt1095 doing the same thing when I flash a stock recovery. Just shows the android guy and just stuck at erasing... When I flash TWRP it doesn't get stuck at the "erasing..." anymore but just boots straight into TWRP.
Sorry for the late response, I missed the notification on your message.
I wasn't able to fix it, returned it to motorola.
Hey guys,
I have a Moto G 2014 here that is stuck in a boot loop. It's on stock recovery, not rooted and the bootloader is locked. It was running 5.x and had an update available (I'm pretty sure it was the stagefright update). After installing it it restarted and got stuck on the Motorola boot logo. Twice it's gotten past the boot logo (I think after letting the battery run out and wiping cache it does this) and shows a popup "Android is upgrading - Starting apps" with a spinning circle but it doesn't go past that. I can get into fastboot and stock recovery.
My question is, with a locked bootloader, is there any way to get it to boot again without losing user data?

I guess no other way left or else try once wiping cache from stock recovery and check whether it boots if not then you have to flash the whole firmware with loosing your data.
Hi guys,
So I had a stock T-Mobile LG G4 H811 that I had unlocked and booted into twrp version 3.1.1-1-g4. I wasn't able to actually flash recovery of this .img becuase of a write failure. So I booted into it instead and then installed it from within twrp into the recovery partition. The actual stock software was the ORIGINAL original, which I think was android 5.1.1
From there, I cleared the cache and delvik cache and installed the G4-H811-10N-xTreme-2.0 Rom. Now, I can't boot into recovery mode anymore, and all I get is the bootloop.. but it's not dead yet because it's a software issue on my part and not a hardware failure.
Any advice on how to get it to recovery mode or at least so I can boot into twrp somehow to try and get this fixed? I tried Power+Volume Down and then let go a sec and Power+Vol Down again and it won't work at all. Just goes straight to bootloop.
Thanks in advance.. I know I screwed up somewhere.. just so many loopholes, it's easy to miss.
Best,
Johnnie
Got somewhere, still broke
Well, somehow I managed to boot into recovery mode only 1 time and installed the stock Tmobile rom. It installed, but now I get a white T-Mobile screen on boot up and it stays there. I tried using the LG Flash Tool 2014 and the stock T-Mobile H811 10N firmware for T-Mobile, but all I get is connection to server errors and the software won't install to the phone over download mode. Anyone else have this problem? I've been trying to figure this stupid thing out for 6 hours. Also, I'm wondering if installing the stock firmware caused the original recovery partition to go back to stock too which is the reason I'm no longer able to boot into recovery mode? It just doesn't recognize it. Power+vol down and then vol down doesn't do anything.
When using the LG Flash Tool 2014, all I get is Connection to Server Failed, Try again. So I do, and nothing. It fails at 9%
Thanks.
