BIGGER BATTERY is Possible - Android One (First-Generation) Cross-Device Genera

I have researched a lot and found that as long as the input voltage is same i.e. 3.7~3.8 volts (which is the normal case nowadays), we can replace original battery with higher maH battery.
The only problem is the exact battery size.
Guys help me find a perfect size battery for Android one.
It may be of any model or manufacturer.

you may want to look here sir http://forum.xda-developers.com/canvas-a1/accessories/using-3000-mah-battery-t2957861 the guy said the model

That thread is useless.
I really need to find out a higher mah battery from another device that can be fit into Android one.

Battery From Mugen For HD2 COMING END OF MARCH

Hello,
Mugen Power is currently working on making an extended battery for HTC HD2 phone. The battery should be available on the market at the end of March.
We still do not know but it should be at least 80% more capacity than the original battery. The capacity of the original battery is 1230mAh so the extended battery should be around 2000mAh.
Thank you,
Michael
MugenBattery.com
will it fit with the original battery cover on? not the fat one?
I will definitely get it if it is of the same size as the original battery.
+1 on that. Mugen batteries are supposed to be the same quality as oem right?
Subscribing to this thread now!
If it is the same size, it is a must have item for me, and it will crush sales of the hump-backed whale battery that HTC has created.

Mugen is a top notch third party battery manufacture, so your in good hands.

I truly doubt that an 80% increase in battery power will be the same size as it's traditionally required an extended back cover. Not a fan of that as I appreciate the HD2's slick feel. But if battery technology has changed in that it all of a sudden can fit, then that would be called progress....
Come out with a legit 1500mah battery, michael. HTC is already doing ~2200-2400mah battery and the consensus would be that any altercation to the overall slenderness of the phone would ruin its uniqueness, so why is Mugen insisting on making one with a fatty backplate?
If you guys are making 1500mah standard size battery, I can guarantee you that I'll buy 5 of them.
battery
already been asked, sorry

I agree, it has to be the same size for me...I could have brought the offical extended battery by now but its just to ugly.
a standard-size 1300mAh from Mugen is already available: the 2000 mAh does probably have a replacement back cover
+1 on the same size deal... if I wanted to buy a bulky unwieldy phone I would go back to the 80's... if there is a good well made higher capacity (=more time) then I would def buy it...
Just to be clear, this isn't Mugen the Honda tuner?

I would be surprised from that, in such a case i may use it in my Civic Type R for power gain ^^
Subscribing to this, more power, same size.... that would be very nice!
I was looking for other batteries the other weke and saw that massive HTC one with replacement cover and its the most stupid thing ever!
If they can produce a 2000mah or close to, at the same size as standard battery, im definately in for a purchase!
I will also be very impressed if it is standard size.
only buying if standard size!

Me too!
Or my case wont fit in HD2
2000mah battery is not going to be the same size as the standard battery lol. Had a few Mugen batteries for previous devices, will not be buying any more from them. The life expentancy of their batteries has never been good and the extra mah they managed to add to the standard size really didn't translate into any extra battery life at all.

i never own one, but thinking of getting one. i thought Mugen batts are supposed to be good quality ones? mind sharing with us your experience?
subscribing! hope like others... same size like the original battery!

will we see extended battery's?

I don't really know much about how easy replacing phones with bigger battery's, but is it likely that htc will sell a bigger power battery for the hd7 ie 1500 or something?
I've seen regualr replacement batterys for the HD7 advertised but not extended ones...not yet anyway.
As always, it's just a matter of time before Mugen/HTC/Seidio etc announce an extended battery.
I hope they can squeeze a true not BS 1500mAH battery in there without a new back cover. It would ruin the design.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
There are 1500mAH batteries listed on Ebay already but how can you tell if its the same old 1230mAH battery with a different sticker on it? Is it even possible to squeeze 270 more mA into a battery of the same size?
lol of course its possible.. have you seen the size of the EVO's battery??? that was 1500 and the dimensions were quiute similar to that of the HD2... so I don't see why it would make a difference
I bought an HD7 and love it. Battery life is not the greatest so I just ordered a 1500 mAh battery for it. I'll let you guys know if it is any better. BTW, the HD7 comes with a 1230 mHa battery (thanks HTC for going cheap here :-| )
Also, the Evo 4G which is almost the exact same hw device comes with a 1500 mHa out of the box.
rfleites, did you get the battery?

Yeah I'd love to get feedback on the battery too.
I'm sure this is the one we're all talking about:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1500mAh-Replace...338942?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f04e9503e
I've heard those batteries on ebay are fakes. There's a thread on the General HD7 forum.
I have just had an email from these people saying they will be announcing an extended battery tomorrow:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/
They look legit.
1300mAh extended battery with existing back cover:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/htc/mugen-power-1300mah-extended-battery-for-htc-hd7-t-mobile-9292.html
3900mAh one with a new back cover (no picture yet):

holy sh*t 3900mAh?? really? wow if they work...!!
I'm sure it works. The qustion is do you want a great big lump sticking out the back of your phone?
Hey guys I ordered the battery but now I need a case that is compatible with this 3900 mah battery.
They provide you the battery cover It comes with the battery itself

As mentioned above the big battery sticks out the back of your phone in a great big lump (they have a picture on their site now). It will also add a lot to the weight. HTC would never release a phone like this.
Why they didn't make the HD7 just a tiny bit thicker and heavier to squeeze a 1500mAh battery in is another question though.
I am not talking about the battery cover. I am talking about a case. A leather case or any other thing i can protect my phone with so if it drops or anything i dont want any scratches etc.

now I understand what you ment. No, not for me.

1500mAh?
Im not so bothered for the 3900 especially with the size of the thing!
But is there a 1500mAh replacement battery that wont need a new battery cover and that wont change the original design form factor of my HD7?

3500mAh for Defy

DealExtreme now have a 3500 mAh battery with cover Link
However I don't think it's 3500 mAh and the quality is probably low and it wont be water resitance because it miss the extra internal cover for the battery.
there is such topic already, and this battery is the same, that already more than month selling on ebay
It's thicker than stock. I have ordered one similar to that as well. Just waiting on it to arrive. There is another topic here that is already about extended batteries for the defy. Your link does include the rear battery cover. However, I would not try and dip that in water unless you put some kind of waterproofing on the replacement back cover. Getting better battery life for cheap does have its disadvantages as well. Unless some company makes one that retains water resistance with a large battery and replacement back cover.

Oh it exist a topic like that already. I missed the "Extended Battery Idea" topic ._.
Anyway Dealextreme is a more know seller then ebay sellers so I would go for Dealextreme insted of ebay.
agree, i might consider the larger battery
This is really interesting! I want one too but if any of you were to buy it, i would be cautious since dealxtreme is known for having cheap chinese made products, theres an american company i found online that sells this battery: http://www.wirelessground.com/motorola-defy-extended-high-capacity-battery.html just sayin
Another dealextreme 3500mAh
Now there's also this one:
dealextreme.com/p/3500mah-rechargeable-extended-battery-pack-cover-for-motorola-mb525-73564 - 3500mAh Rechargeable Extended Battery Pack + Cover for Motorola MB525
In addition to the previous
dealextreme.com/p/replacement-3-7v-3500mah-battery-pack-with-back-case-for-motorola-defy-me525-mb525-bf5x-90589 - Replacement 3.7V/3500mAh Battery Pack with Back Case for Motorola Defy ME525/MB525/BF5X
Both back cases have no waterproofing. As (remaining) capacity is probably more related to age of the battery than to price; I would pick the newer white one. Anyway, you only loose $11 instead of ~$30 for the ebay options.
I just got a D.Seven extended battery for US$13
Its more than double the thickness of a normal battery, comes with an extra cover which makes you lose the waterproofness....and my shell doesnt fit now, the phone is now damn bulky...
Dont think i'll be using it anytime soon, unless going camping or something
Iit would have created a smaller battery

Hi.
And what about the battery life ? Huge improvement ? Or insignificant ? Thx for the test.
It would be so uncomfortable to carry it after using this battery.
so....is it works?
at least should have double time usage with this battery....
... right?
I tested my D.Seven 3000ma battery....battery life increased by 20 - 30% only...

Exist 4000-4500 mAh extended battery?

I want bigger battery for my Note2, but only quality battery l found is 6000mAh with battery door, which made from Note2 2cm thickness ugly beast.
Existing some (REAL) 4000-4500mAh with battery door which made Note2 maximum 1,3-1,4cm thickness?

There is a source I just found for 4200 mAh battery which supposed to be the same dimensions as OEM 3100 mAh battery. I'm waiting to receive it in a few weeks from HK ($8.99 shipped) and will review and report about its actual capacity. It shouldn't be less than 3100 mAh, I hope, and if it really can deliver 4200 mAh - that would be awesome while keeping original battery door and whatever case you are using now.
In case you're wondering what you might get one of these, just search ebay for 4250 mah note2 gold. Whoever in Cina makes these, makes them for a lot of brands.

The problem is when you search on ebay you get only 2 choices, one for $25 and another one for $35. And although picture shows a battery with Note 2 label, it has 4 contacts instead of 3 contacts like on OEM battery. I have no idea what they are selling. The one I'm getting is labeled as 4200 mAh Gold model and for a fraction of the price, it has correct 3 contacts and even water damage indicator. But I have no idea about its quality or the actual capacity until I get it. If its everything I expect, I will review and post a link to it.

Lots of reviews on XDA not just for the note 2 but lots of batteries.
Regardless of it being made in China or not, there are lots of scams out there. Batteries that hold more charge must be physically larger, it's a matter of physics, unless if you are buying a battery with some very advanced rechargeable battery tech, but most batteries are li-pol or li-ion and basically in order to have more charge you need more cells, which = bigger battery.
Anyone selling a "extended" battery that is the same size is lying.
The Gold batteries are good quality OEM size batteries, but they won't hold more charge

Yeah, you are absolutely right. I'm not being naive about it, just hoping that perhaps they were able to increase cell density, somehow?!? I'm not holding my breath it will be 50% increase or so. In my previous Droid X I had original OEM 1500 mAh battery. Then, after 3 months Motorola came up with 1850 mAh extended battery in the same form factor (even so they offered a new battery cover, it was just a hair thicker and fit original battery cover perfectly). And that one was a significant improvement over original capacity. So, I'm just hoping that someone was able to push an envelope to increase density to give at least 20%-25% boost without sacrificing the size. As much as I'm enjoying my current test of Seidio Innocell (4500 mAh) with ACTIVE Extended case, I miss my slim fit UAG case

Go to this thread and go down to post 9. I posted my experience with a "gold battery" only to find out the label was just a print to scam buyers. Not only that, the battery never worked and when I was charging it, it started getting dangerously hot.
All in all, stick with branded items that have a good reputation. I paid $675 outright for my phone, and will spend $5 more for the branded battery to keep my pocket from bursting. Also, the external battery charger that come with Hyperion and Onite batteries output .350 A +- .05A so it will slow charge a battery overnight, keeping your battery at its peak life for a longer amount of time.

Best Battery

What would be the best extended battery to get for the Droid 4 (minus the Mugen)? I have found the following on eBay and looking for what your experiences are with them or others. I want the biggest I can get from the OEM that still fits in the original casing.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/171884738678 (2850mah)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/191617997652 (2600mah)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131646087397 (2100mah)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262314085580 (1925mah)
i had the gold one (first link) and it worked great but you should know that its not whatever capacity theyre advertising it as so i would say its better to just get the gold since its cheaper and it still gives about an hour more of screen time.
unfortunately all these batteries come without the adhesive that holds the battery in place meaning if you drop your phone the battery shakes and the flex cable snaps.
at least theyre not expensive right?
I think best battery is this mod - http://forum.xda-developers.com/photon-q-4g-lte/general/real-2600mah-battery-mod-t3308399/
In droid 4 and photon q is the same battery.

The biggest from the OEM is 1745mAh (or roundabouts that, don't quote me on it...); that is to say, the one that came with your phone.
The ones you've listed are almost certainly fakes. Most of the time they're actually either
A: OEM batteries - easy to tell because the cell itself is marked with the real capacity and model # - that have had the original sticker removed and a new sticker put on them (the gold ones are pretty well known for this)...
or
B: Unmarked, potentially hazardous Chinese-made mystery batteries. Key thing here: unmarked. You can bet good money that if some manufacturer had managed to get 50% more capacity out of a Li-poly battery in the same footprint, they would be plastering their name all over it, not letting some small-fry eBay seller peddle it at minimal price. No markings from a well-known manufacturer = big, glowing-neon-red flag.
Progress in battery technology being stagnant as it has been for a while now, if you want a bigger battery, your choices are to get a huge "official" battery (Mugen's ridiculously-priced monstrosity), or try to trim the plastic around the battery cavity and squeeze a slightly bigger battery from another phone in, as shown in the post above.
We don't have all that much extra room around the battery in our phone, though, so be careful. Note where the cover hooks on and don't cut past there.
Alternatively, get a good power bank and plug it into that every now and then. Xiaomi's 5000mAh offering is small (roughly the same size as our phone, in fact), light, and cheap at ~$13 (Gearbest). Even comes with a short cable, so you can plug'em together and toss'em in your backpack for a bit.
