I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this phone in the US and was surprised that Expansys USA listed it on their site on Monday 23rd June as a DUAL SIMM model.
I called them to verify that they did in fact have the phone in stock. In that conversation I realized the one they have seems to be the European Model and does not support T-Mobile LTE in the US. To clarify the maximum speed you can get on the E6533 is 3G on T-Mobile's network.
This brings me to my question and please indulge me if it has already been answered elsewhere: Will there be a US version of the (Xperia Z3+ -E6533)that is slated to be released and if so does anyone know if if it will fully support US T-Mobile 4G LTE.?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Much.
What gave you the impression that the E6533 won't get more than 3G on T-Mobile? According to GSM Arena, that specific model has B4(1700/2100) and B12(700), which is what T-Mobile primarily uses for LTE. If the information is correct, you should have no problem connecting to T-Mobile's network.

T-Mobile is phasing out their 1700Mhz 3G band soon so it won't really matter.
I should be receiving my Z3+ by Wednesday. I'll let you guys know how T-Mobile performs on it. I ordered the single sim, E6553 version.

Please do! Also check the 3G compatibilty beside LTE. Since Culex316 said 1700 MHz 3G being phased out, it should be fine. Like OP, I was also initially planning to get the E6533 (Dual) as I have a tmobile sim too (micro). I ended up getting the E6553 to use on my ATT line as the white paper says dual sim version LTE DL is limited to 150 Mbps (vs 300 Mbps on the E6553) & the dual sim also doesn't support quick charge 2.0 just yet.

I should be able to report my findings on Thursday. Have a date with the lady friend on Wednesday so I probably won't do anything with the phone until Thursday. First few charge cycles suck and i don't want to end up with a dead phone in the middle of a date.
But I didn't know that there dual sim version didn't have quick charge yet, that's interesting. I'm not too bothered by LTE speeds honestly, but connectivity is always a concern.

No, they are refarming the 1900Mhz spectrum from their 2G EDGE network to LTE.
Band 12 is a different frequency altogether (700Mhz A block).

I was so excited and almost ordered the E6533 dual SIM version off eBay and the seller "NeverMSRP" where I have bought from many times listed the dual SIM version as having both band 12 and AWS HSPA+ compatibility. I know the latter isn't widely deployed still, but I wanted the dual SIM option and that was icing on the cake. Then I saw conflicting reports and noticed Sony's own whitepapers did not have band 12 listed on the E6533. Sure enough, I think the eBay seller was reporting the incorrect frequencies. Total bummer. I don't want to buy anymore T-Mobile phones without band 12 as I think late 2015 is really when it's going to shine. Anyway, be careful of eBay.

Honestly, I've never been too fused about LTE speeds, as long as I have HSPA+ I'm happy.
But a preliminary report on the E6553 - it connects to T-Mobile just fine for now. I started this phone up a few hours ago and have it set up now. My home is a horrible spot for T-Mobile, but I'll be out and about tomorrow so we'll see the connectivity.

Been out and connectivity to T-Mobile's network everywhere has been great!
No issues with voice calls or anything. The E6553 is definitely a great choice for me. I've also been getting great battery life too. I'll report what I've got in the battery thread

Refarming 1900mhz doesnt mean the LTE spectrum will end up at this spectrum. The converted spectrum will be at band 12 700mhz from EVERYTHING I've read.

If I am reading your post correctly, the DUAL SIMM version you got from "NeverMSRP" did not work with 4G LTE on T-Mobile? Ironically that is the same dude I been emialing and he swears it works. Kindly advise.

Its very simple just search google for "Sony Xperia Z3+ E6553 white paper" for Single sim version and "Sony Xperia Z3+ E6533 White Paper" for dual sim version. Check if LTE band is there in company's product datasheet... don't believe on sellers from ebay ...they copy stuff same for all mobiles...

yes it's also very simple to see that it was provided earlier, but this guy's experience seems to be a bad one, and we're trying to confirm his personal experience instead of some sheet nobody has confirmed working on t-mobile yet. So unless you don't have your own personal confirmation why don't you google something else for yourself.

I was hoping the ATT S5 would get UMTS 900 and LTE Band 20 (Europe Digital Dividend 800 Mhz), I was disappointed to see that it does not.
I live 45 min. North, Northwest of Philly and AT&T is the best carrier in PA - HANDS DOWN! I also travel every week, all over the US for work - and I'm very happy with AT&T in general. One thing I noticed on my S4 is that I could not get LTE in Burlington, VT on it - but I had full bars of LTE on my iPad Air. Side question; What band does ATT use for LTE there that the S4 don't support?

on the S4 I was able to activate AWS freq. for UMTS by flashing it. I need to do this for UMTS 900 and/or (pref. AND LTE Band 20, since I travel to Northern Norway all the time - and there is only UMTS 900 and LTE 20 some places there.... If I cannot have the phone flashed to have the current bands AND the wanted bands - would there be a way to flashing it back and forth from ATT to "Euro/International" mode?

AT&T uses bands 2, 4, 5, & 17 for LTE. Band 17 (700mhz) is what most of their LTE is on. That's why the signal is always good. I am starting to see Band 2 (1900mhz) in some areas. I saw Band 4 (AWS) in Chicago in a few areas (probably were capacity is weak).
Yes, with the S4 you could unlock the AWS frequencies. I do not know if you could flash UMTS 900 with an S4. You will not be able to flash anything with frequencies on the S5 as AT&T has locked down the phone entirely. It will follow in the Note 3's footsteps.
I think they discourage people unlocking their devices and using them on other networks. AT&T is forgetting what GSM is all about IMO. If AT&T LTE is not that important to you, you may want to consider the international variant which will support your European frequencies. It will NOT work on AT&T LTE though.

AT&T is most important, as I am in the US 95% of the time. At least the S5 will have LTE 1800 and 2600. My hometown in Norway should get LTE 1800 later this year. So at least I will have GSM 900, UMTS 2100 and LTE 1800.
Do you, or anyone else know if AT&T will unlock Phones on the Next plan? I got the S4 full price, but I'm using the Next plan for the S5.

They'll unlock it if its paid off entirely. But that doesn't mean you can't unlock it yourself.
Just curious if buying it unlocked and using it on T-Mobile would be an option? Wanting to know if it'll work with the proper bands here?

Xperia Z3 (D6616) is supposedly headed to T-Mobile US as per reports. Not sure of Z3C though. I'm almost certain that you will be able to use its 2G if you bought it unlocked. It is better to check with T-mobile what 3G bands they use and then you can look up the spec sheet of Z3C to see if that band is supported.
I had once bought the Samsung Wave unlocked from abroad and used with T-mobile. Only 2G worked flawlessly. 3G was not supported.

Z3C is shown as coming soon on their US website. I believe all T-Mobile bands are supported except for band 12 which is only on D6616.

That's not true, the D6616 which is the T-Mobile version of the Z3 was customized for T-Mobile and has additional memory. It also supports different LTE bands than the other Z3 models.
The international Z3 Compact should work with T-Mobile but it will not have Band 12 LTE, and probably not work with WiFi calling or VoLTE.

Well, if you have a better answer than by all means you can answer his question. I was just taking a stab at it based off of good assumptions.
I don't believe T-Mobile is getting the compact version, check this http://developer.sonymobile.com/tag/d5833/ and notice the tags at the bottom, no mention of a D5816 which should be the model of the compact TMO version, if there was one, based on D6616 being the standard size version.
It looks like this phone will be compatible up to HSPA 21Mbit, GSM and Edge on T-Mobile. It seems to be missing the 1700/2100 AWS required for T-Mobile's 42Mbit "4G"

I think you may be mistaken. It supports the T-Mobile AWS bands, which are 1700/2100, at least on the D5803 model, which is what the UK retailers are supposedly selling. It shouldn't have a problem getting full 42mbps HSPA+ on T-Mobile's network.
Additionally, LTE Band 4 is the T-Mobile AWS LTE, so it supports that as well.
The only T-Moble frequency it doesn't support is the new 700Mhz stuff they bought from ATT (LTE Band 12), but they haven't done anything with that frequency, and likely won't for another year or so.

Yea I completely glossed over LTE Band 4, whoops. I thought to support 1700/2100 AWS UMTS the phone would have to support both 1700 Band 4 and 2100 Band 4 (which it only supports band 1 at this frequency), but I may be mistaken. And I appreciate you setting the record straight if I'm mistaken in that regard. :good:

I can understand the confusion.
Sony, and possibly other phone manufacturers, don't generally seem to list 2100MHz(IV) seperately, likely since it's "bundled" with 1700MHz(IV) for the purposes of the AWS compatibility. One without the other is largely pointless (I believe).
So by listing 1700MHz (IV), they're indicating that it also supports 2100MHz(IV). As an example of what I mean, look at the official frequency listing for the Xperia Z2, which is my current phone.

Sony, and possibly other phone manufacturers, don't generally seem to list 2100MHz(IV) seperately, likely since it's "bundled" with 1700MHz(IV) for the purposes of the AWS compatibility. One without the other is largely pointless (I believe).
So by listing 1700MHz (IV), they're indicating that it also supports 2100MHz(IV). As an example of what I mean, look at the official frequency listing for the Xperia Z2, which is my current phone.

I have never owned a sony phone, just my galaxy s3 so this is definitely something new for me and I am ready to try something new. I was tempted to purchase from handtech but I think I will wait a week or 2 to make sure. It is said to be available in 2 days. I want LTE, this would be my first LTE experience.

No need to be concerned.
The Z3C definitely supports T-Mobile's LTE bands, except for the newly purchased 700Mhz stuff from ATT (LTE Band 12), but I wouldn't expect to see that rolled out anywhere sooner than 8 months to a year, and then it's probably going to be present only in very few areas.
Honestly, I don't think Band 12 will be a concern for another couple of years, based on the speed at which T-Mobile initially rolled out LTE.

I have a Z3C coming for use on T-Mo in the states (going from GS3 as well). I almost didn't get it because of the lack of compatibility with LTE Band 12, but then I saw where the Band 12 coverage will actually be. Frankly, it doesn't cover my area, so I decided since it is compatible with all the other LTE Bands to go for it.
There is a great map at TMoNews that shows you just where the Band 12 coverage will be, but I can't post links yet.
I cant wait. My z3c will be here tomorrow... thanks for all the info.

Interesting...unless the Qatar version supports 1700MHz band....I'm don't think you'll fully be able to utilize the TM network.

Yup, thanks a lot ! I was getting to that conclusion... T-Mobile uses Band 4 (AWS 1700/2100 MHz), which you are right only the N910C and N910U have. And also true, as with other international phones like the Sony Z3 and others, the biggest regret will be Band 12. However, for what I have read, the regret there of not having Band 12 is WiFi calling and some better reception indoor like in buildings and such.

LTE Band 12 has nothing to do with WiFi calling. WiFi calling, in terms of hardware, simply requires WiFi, which all N910 models have (2.4 and 5.xGHz). The rest is carrier support (which T-Mobile has) and software on the phone (which if it isn't on by default can be added via root).
LTE Band 12 doesn't matter much outside of California, Florida, Texas, New England, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Atlanta, Minneapolis and Indianapolis. Leap (Cricket) Wireless owns most of the 700MHz Block A spectrum in America. Check out this map and see where you live vs what your carrier holds.

I looked at that map but did not quite understood the results. So, can you please educate me on what really I might miss should I go missing the Band 12 for someone living on those areas you have mentioned above?
I am tired of waiting on the T-Mobile Note 4 availability and the N910U seems to be available on eBay, plus it has the Exynos.

What's so special about the Exynos processor over the 805? The 805 in my Note4 is a beast.

How do you add wi-fi calling via root? My understanding is that no one has managed to extract wi-fi related software pieces from T-Mobile ROMs and successfully port anywhere. That's why I'm always stuck with TW ROMs.
Just get the sm-n910t. Why do you want Exynos version? Many app wont take advantage of that cpu.

N910C VoLTE and international dialer questions.
For anyone that has the N910C running on T-Mobile, is VoLTE actived for you? When you make a call, does it stay on LTE or does it drop to 4G (HSPA) and then go back to LTE after you hang up.
Also, does the dialer include the video chat icon on the bottom left and is there a way to remove it since (I'm guessing) it doesn't work.
I have a n910c and I'm on tmobile when I call it drops down to 4g then goes back to lte.

Can anyone confirm for sure if they're able to surf the web or do any data related activity while on a call with their sm-n910c? I have ZERO data connectivity while on a call and as soon as the call hangs up, I instantly have my data back. Any help or confirmation is appreciated.
I'm thinking of getting the pure in the US and using it up in Canada. Wondering if it'll work. I've heard mixed things about the LTE bands and some saying that 3G won't work at all.

It will work perfect, 100%
Telus sells the XT1097, your looking at the XT1095 out the US just don't pick the AT&T model as it has a locked boot loader that seems cant be unlocked at all..... The Telus model, supposed to have the quickest updates... well thats a lie.... there is no update as of today... and no indication of when either...
I was able to buy a XT1095. I still haven't received it but now all I can think about is "What if I need to use the warranty for some reason?". Did anyone in Canada have to go through that?

On another thread on this site, someone mentioned that the hardware is the exact same on the canadian model as it is on the pure edition model, the only difference is the firmware. So it seems to me that a radio flash might be required in order to receive the proper bands. I'd love confirmation on this, as I plan on using motomaker in the US to build my phone.

You can't actually change the modem files, you must you the original meant for the phone. The XT1095 supports all of the 2G,3G and 4G bands that Rogers/Bell/Telus/Fido/Virgin/Koodo/Wind/Mobilicity use in Canada. You don't need to do anything but insert your nano sim and possibly program the APN to get network data.

Hey, I have not looked at asian note 5 yet, I will do so soon.
For Europe, you need gsm and lte 3, 7, and 20 (1800, 2600, 800 MHz) [no26-800MHz # no20-800MHz! ...]
To use US phones for Europe, this is what i have come up with.

I based that on what I found for SM-N920 A/V/P (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint), German/UK LTE network requirements, and the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920 A/V/P/F, F=Europe/Int). I guess the Note 5 is pretty much a S6 with larger screen and pen, so network capabilities should not differ too much between the S6 and the Note 5, hopefully.
I will get a AT&T device soon, hopefully only bootloader unlocked and just KNOX (don't care too much about warranty for US phone since I import it...). AT&T should work for most of Europe, or respectively for LTE 3, 7, and 20....
I see what I can find for the Asian Note 5 ('s) and msg back
EDIT:

I think the singapore one misses the 800 band.
4G is working only in the big cities here for now with this note 5.
Later this year the phone company release another bands.
800Mhz is to 1800 and 2600MHz LTE - loosely compared - as 5GHz Wifi is to 2.4GHz -- higher transfer speeds at the higher frequencies but shorter range and less signal through obstancles, generally speaking.
Would explain why inside you would not get a great LTE signal, if the 800MHz band is missing.... imho

And now I know there is not a 800.
But here in the netherlands the provider also uses the 1800,but only in the big cities.
That's why the phone picks up 4G when I am outside.
yh, most european countries use all 800, 1800, and 2600, depending on region/area/whatnot...
just saying, without 800 capability, and when you happen to have 800 mast outside your area, you might not get signal, especially inside... ofc you can still have lte via 1800 and 2600, provided you are close enough and have a mast nearby, more likely in the cities (lots of data over short ranges)

In your dialer could you please type *#2263# and naivate to Band Selection. Post here what's in WCDMA and LTE.
