Running MOAR ROM (latest version),and getting ready to install terminal, but I can already see a big difference. Nice job..:good:
I'm running AICP ROM. I can definitely see a diference. I think some of those tweaks are included in TouchWiz roms, and I see no reason why they shouldn't be on AOSP as well.
whenever I go to run Entropy after I have done su and gained super user priveledges it gives an access denied error stating to try running su before running Entropy. anyone else having this problem or know why I might be having this problem?
Edit: running on unofficial Pac-Man rom us sprint
I am still unable to run Entropy though any help?

its a clean stock deodexed T-mobile 5.0 rom, only extra is 3minute battery and KT kernel
Everything appears to be installed testing from the terminal says everything is OK but it's not generating logs I changed the log location in all the init d files to point to the old galaxy folder on the sd card just to see if a different location would help but nothing...
Universal Init.d app says my phone doesn't have init.d support
There is another stock deodexed rom from The Sickness I will try later and see if it flashes and works on it...

If init.d is not supported in that rom, flash my zip to add it. Just look at my threads you'll see it. That's most likely your problem.

your flashable zip worked, I already edited it manually but I can comfirm the flashable zip worked, the same script is in your installer for galaxy mod but for whatever reason it didn't take...
Two new versions and an uninstall zip added to Op. V2 is an entropy free version for people that have issue's with the entropy engine.
Added new ram option's Please try them and report to pole on Op.
New packs up lots of new stuff and adjustments. No need to use uninstaller anymore before installing newest version, unless you're going from normal to V2
V1 + optimum RAM running great here

Both get updated together,as it says V2 comes without entropy engine. This is the only difference between the two.

These are some of cool scripts found in different sections works with Vibrant.
I will keep adding and updating working scripts as I find them.
Ofcourse, I didn't wrote myself. Thanks to knzo for providing code.
What I did is bring them together here, so can be accessed by ROM chefs & users easily.
What Scripts are included:
strict minfree handler tweak
internet speed tweaks
vm management tweaks
misc kernel tweaks
battery tweaks
EXT4 tweaks (greatly increase I/O) (needs /system, /cache, /data partitions formatted to EXT4) --> Don't use on MIUI/CM7
Defrags database files
Remove logger
microSD card speed tweak
Loopy Smoothness tweak
Darky's Zipalign
Juwe's Ram Booster Script
To use these tweaks place the respective files in system/etc/init.d folder before flashing your ROM.
Some of tweaks are reviewed in below post.
> Works on any OS preferably Froyo and Gingerbread.
> Needs init.d access and busybox.
> You CANNOT flash this file anytime since its not CWM flashable yet.
> Its manual procedure to add scripts/hosts individual extracted file into your downloaded ROM zip file at paths specified. Please be careful with this else it wont work.
> If your ROM already have similar named script, keep only that one or delete that and add from these.
Miscellaneous file:
HOSTS file
Removes more than 95% of ADs from browser as well ad-supported applications.
Better than Ad-free application.
Works on all ROMs
Place "HOSTS" file in system/etc/ folder.
Share your experience with scripts.
Please discuss what scripts/tweaks really helps Vibrant.
USE THEM ON YOUR OWN RISK.
Loopy Smoothness Tweak:
Entering your PIN with minimal/no delay/lag
Minimising delay with lock screen pattern/unlock (not the time it takes to wakeup, but the touchscreen response lag)
Having smoother notifications on the status bar, and smoother pulldown menu response
Minimising Launcher lag while Media Scanner is running (can scroll through screens without heavy pauses)
Minimising lag when scrolling through the market while icons are still loading
Installing/Uninstalling apps while continuing other tasks
Minimising/eliminating intermittent lag spikes in gaming
No delay in being able to answer phone calls

Yes, you can.
Just set permission same as that of other existing files in that folder and reboot.
i push the all scripts into init.d,delete the old.
reboot to recovery, clear cache and dalvik, fix permission.
then boot to the system,
open the titanium backup it said i didn't have the buybox.
root explorer didn't work.
seem to be i can only flash back
How do you know if the scripts are working? I deleted my old intd file with es file explorer and put the files from here in the folder.

hit the link to jewes tweaks he has videos there. do some multi tasking open up a bunch of apps then open your task manager and see how mch ram your using you should be using far less ram than normal. I have so many apps that run in the background this compilation really helped out with the ram usage and the lags.

DO NOT DELETE ALL THE FILE IN YOUR YOUR INIT.D
For e.g. sysct
If you want to test scripts, there is a app in market "GScript." Get it.

I installed but later removed both the kernel tweak and the sd card tweak. I was getting minor freezes and a fc after hanging up on a call using my bluetooth headset. I already had an sd card tweak, I think, and just removed the kernel tweak on a hunch. Benchmark scores are not that great but everything is back to smooth as butter. Download speeds seem to be down a little, but upload speeds went way up. On simply honey 5.1 with jewe's script (removed that to as I already had it) flashed and the build prop tweaks applied. Just added in the extra tweaks from this thread removing the ones I mentioned.

This is not visual mod or theming and so posted in Android Development section.
As we all are aware there is memory leak issue with JB Roms (may not be experienced in some case), so I decided to play with framework jars and mod them to optimize RAM management.
I had used Advanced Task Killer on JB Rom and problems became grave, I needed to restart device after every hour.
So freeing the RAM in that way didn't work at all.
So, I decided to try reverse and let maximum multitasking take place (ofcourse, with optimal RAM free for launching new activities)
This can be done customizing ADJ parameters.
ICS or JB doesn't read ADJ values from build.prop or local.prop - so they are hardcoded into services.jar!
Moreover, after patching the services.jar for OOM priority... kernel overrides few needed parameters and even init.d wont help in such case.
So, I have created APK file which will do all the dirty work for you

Ninja Mode features:
Maximum Overdrive:
As mentioned earlier, it's optimal usage of RAM for maximum multitasking intended to control memory leak.
The ROM experience will get much snappier than before even with too many apps!!
Optimized Framework:
The framework of the ROM is now PNG optimized. This will increase performance as load time should decline.
Fastest ZipAlign:
The normal zipalign option in ROM is slow as it zipaligns all apps everytime.
The method used here is different and it checks new apps if available and zipaligns!
Database Optimization:
The database files are reindexed and vaccumed. This may fasten your overall app experience.
3G Booster:
Lot's of tweak for data connection!
SdCard Read Ahead value boost
Dalvik Heap Size limit increased
Least of ads in any app (latest 'hosts')
... and many other minor tweaks...
Caution:
This mod is only for BlackCNA and is under testing.
First flash the CWM and then install the app manually.
First reboot will take little longer time as it will zipalign all apks and fix permissions.
Using this app on other ROM is not recommended as framework needed to be patched.
To uninstall this mod, uninstall the app and you will need to flash the ROM again (without wipe will do.)
Installation:
Make sure you are on BlackCNA v1.2 ROM
Flash the base via CWM and reboot.
Install the "Ninja Mode" apk manually and activate it!
Reboot one time...
Planned updates:
Customizable tweaks
Better UI for APK (This is my first app with code from scratch!! :silly
Support for other ROMS ?
Remember, this mode is under TEST and under development!

~added a browser cache script (hoping to load browser pages quicker)
~added delay to the larger scripts (to speed up boot times)
Infromation About CrossBreeder-
- This is a new take at Android lag reduction. It's lightweight and won't consume battery. Users have reported drastic improvements in usability and even benchmark scores. It will show noticeable improvements - Android devices from Donut to Froyo to Gingerbread to Honeycomb to ICS and Jellybean.
- This is a combination of 5 different methodologies to reduce Android lag.
- Removal of DNS lag . A lot of the lag in a lot of apps, apart from the GUI lag, is due to slow DNS querying, specially on the mobile network.
- CrossBreeder now runs a caching, parallelising DNS client on the device. So now most of your DNS queries will be served from the cache and if not found, the query will be sent in in round robin fashion to multiple DNS servers including Google DNS, OpenDNS and your home router and the reply will be served to you, hot.
- This speeds up network access and networked apps, like Browsers of course, and Tapatalk, Gmail and thousands of others drastically. And removes a lot of the lag where it was due to DNS querying. This will not increase your network or download speed but pages will load much faster.
- This will future proof your devices as more and more apps start using HTML5 and/or reside completely as web pages or the like.-
I Just thought, there are some great developers in our forum, with great tweaks, geared for their own specific purpose, and i thank them. I HAVE asked for permission to use these tweaks, to make a pack of the best, from the best taking a few of those great tweaks and putting them in one lightweight package. Now , I did NOT create any tweak in this pack. That is why introductions and thanks are in order.

Test Init.d With The "21 Test-init.d" script
-THINGS YOU NEED-
Rom Toolbox (free or pro)
Root Access (superuser access) for Rom Toolbox
ComaDose Already Flashed
-Steps-
After ComaDose flash, if you want to check if your init.d is functioning properly you can check it with the 21 test init.d script...
After flash the test init.d script has already ran (on startup) now thwe sole purpose of this script is to show whether or not init.d
is properly functioning.
When this script is ran (executed) as all scripts in init.d are upon startup, it creates a file in the /data folder.
so why dont we take a look for it?
Using Rom Toolbox, go to the "root browser" tab (upon first startup youll be prompted to SuperUser permissions, Allow this)
Once in Root Browser youll be in the root of your device by default. ( / )
Click on the "Data" folder..
In the /Data folder, were looking for "Exit Only Init.d" file
if you see this file, your init.d is working and all scripts are running ...
If you dont see this file after reboot (post flash) you can execute the "21 test Init " script manually...
back out to the root of the phone, go into "system", then into "etc" then into the "init.d" folder and locate the "21_testinit.d" script, press on it , bringing up this menu.
press the "open as" tab, bringing up this menu...
then press the "script file" option..
Then you want to press the "execute Script" option, making sure the "execute as root option is checked, as shown below.
which will then execute the script using init.d support to do so.. looking like this
after its executed, go back into /data and find the "Exit Only Init.d" file if its there your init.d is working.....
Awesome!

This Mod is NOT Kernel specific. its init.d scripts, a few extras like gps.conf files , this is great on battery makes phone sleep like a baby, (depending on what you have running , obviously) now with the added Crossbreeder it give it a nice snappy response aswell

I would uninstall the current Cbreeder , then reflash ComaDose, better to start fresh. that way nothing being conflicted, or written over.. etc.
So I take it stock mf9 kernel wouldn't actually work where it doesn't support initd or does this add that ability

this pushes init.d support my friend.
If your unsure if your devices Init.d support is functioning there is a script in the /etc /init.d folder called 21_testinitd after flash, go to /data look for a FILE not folder, exit_only-initd. if its there your init.d - busy box is working...

Thank you for putting this together and helping out the community. I have a couple of questions:
Is this meant for a specific version of S4A firmware or will it work on any firmware?
Is there a way to restore the stock system in case the user would like to remove the tweaks? Maybe have the script file make a backup of the user's stock files into a flashable zip.
This technically will work on any rom. As long as a priv-app folder is in system. To remove tweaks, just delete them from init.d.

Thank you sir. I'm trying to tailor this for our devices only. Still needs a little tweaking. Although it works flawlessly, im still going to play with it some more.
so im installing and following install directions and i got to number 4 and wondering if thats what i have to do.I see it says to do if you want to work properly so just making sure thats what i gotta do.thanks
You don't need to do anything. It works from boot. I should re-write the OP a little.

Did you have to clear cashe and dalvik cashe after install through recovery?
It clears the caches and sets permissions for you. Just flash and go.

That would probly help. The only reason I knew it would work from boot is others I've flashed in the past.. or I would've been a little confused also..

I'm currently running XtreStoLite T-Mobile variant TW ROM (with wifi calling/VoLte). I'm on the latest firmware for my device with @ktoonsez custom kernel. Like some of you I run an insane amount of xposed modules (15+) and audio mods (eXtreme Beats Studio, Pon+3, Elements of Fidelity-TW, and Viper4Android).
With that said on the type of setup I have, I'm always lagging in my device with hangtime. It's most noticeable when I'm typing or swiping with SwiftKey. So I've been looking around trying to find ways to speed my device. I even use the xposed app GovProfiler (only for ktoonsez kernel) to speed up my keyboard, but to no avail, it does not eliminate the lag completely. I found these tweaks to speed up my device. And they actually seem to work quite well for me so I wanted to share.
First off make sure your ROM allows init.d/SQL/kernel/sysctl enhancements. If you don't have init.d support there's an app on the Play Store called Universal Init.d that you can download that gives anyone support.
1. Download Project Mod Boost Nitro X http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2809443
a). Flash mod in recovery
b). In Terminal Emulator type:
"su"
"boost" (ram booster)
"nitro_on" (for entropy speedup)
2. Download MaliveBooster http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2741189
a). Flash mod in recovery
3. Download Android Tweaker 2 from the play store. You can Defrag SQL database, zipalign apps, inject Sony Bravia Engine V3, improve performance, battery life, image & video quality, voice quality, dns, ipv4/6, etc.
4. Download the fstrim script http://www.modaco.com/topic/370237-all-modother-disableenable-swap-zram-fstrim/
a). Flash in recovery
If you have performance issues with your slow TouchWiz rom then you won't be disappointed with these apps/scripts
I love this type of thread
I second that... [emoji2]

What are the drawbacks to these kind of tweaks? If there are no drawbacks Samsung would have implemented it from the factory.
I'm using killjoy with XtreStoLite 1.3a what else would work with it?
Do these things actually work.... proof? Or are they just BS and you just *think* that your phone is faster, better battery, etc. lol... I have a hard time believing this stuff works. Anyone test em' out??
Defragging a solid state drive is practically useless.
I am using the extremely debloated rom for att s5,and haven't seen any improvements at all as it is fast to begin with. Battery seems close to the same but definitely not any better.
