Hello! Long story short I was on 5.0 rooted and like a COMPLETE idiot I tried installing TWRP. Basically it broke my phone, so I went to 4.4.2 and tried going up from there. For whatever reason it won't let me do the OTA, so I was looking for the 4.4.4 Stock firmware for my G900A but no matter where I search, here or on Google, I can't seem to find it :/ Could anyone lend a hand? Thanks!

Use the downgrade firmware in this thread ( step 5 in the notes section of the OP ) after using that firmware you will be able to OTA. Just be careful not to ota to 5.0 or you won't be able to root. Flash the firmware in AP slot in odin 3.09

Thank you! Now something else I was wondering... Isn't 5.0 like 400 something MB? The OTA that I was trying to get *but failed at getting before you sent me the link to the one in that post* was only around 160MB. Is that the 4.4.4 update?

I'm not sure. Personally I'd get back to 4.4.2, root then go back to 5.0 using the thread i posted to you then flash
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3095987
Support is low for the 4.4.x since everyone has moved onto 5.0. Plus no one is working on them roms anymore. The TMS5 is a good rom and the dev is still actively working on improving and adding more to it. Plus in the OP of his thread he has instructions for using safestrap on 5.0.
Sorry i can't help out on the 4.4.4 i was never on it. I never take OTA's.

Now I'm having trouble with root... I flashed that version of 4.4.2 but when I do Towelroot v3 it says "This phone isn't currently supported"
EDIT: Never mind! Figured it out! I think I may have it now lol.

Current SS 3.71 does not support 4.4.2 KitKat. It works for JB 4.3 only. We are waiting for new release SS for 4.4.2 KitKat.

I suggest you should do a whole lot of research before you started to flash things. Visit to the development thread and you can find out more info.
Go back to MJ5, and then flash KnoxRaid rom or any of those that ported by drake if you want to be on KitKat.

Found Drakey's instructions on simulating safe strap for now. was able to flash my keyboard. Looking forward to a safestrap for 4.4.2
Drake has been doing great things and Hashcode is still working on the bootlaoder safestrap issues. Hopefully we'll get it b4 the Note4 comes out!
question
im very new to flashing.my question is will i be able to flash a kitkat rom with safestrap after its updated for kitkat even if im on 4.3 because for some reason my phone says update failed after 25% and i realy want kitkat but dont know what to do other than flashing it with safestrap and i dont have a computer and using odin sounds a little over my head ( if i can get access to a computer).

Once SS is updated it should be fine. But the flashing process with odin isn't hard if you can get access to a computer. Drakey has very clear instructions in any of his ROM threads.

We have been able to get SS to work on the I337 4.4 NB1 build by first downgrading to 4.3 by only flashing some of the 4.3 partitions including the stock kernel then rooting and installing SS. Once we flash the Custom ROM in SS we flash back to the 4.4 stock kernel. From that point forward all we need to do to wipe and flash another ROM is flash the 4.3 kernel again.
I don't know if this will work on your device but it may be worth a shot.
So my phone keeps screaming at me to install a update, stock Rom only rooted, downloaded it to find out I cant install it with out the stock recovery and it would probably unroot my phone....
So I'm kinda confused as to what I need to download to update.
This all steams from how my old lady is picking up 4G at our house on her s4 and I'm stuck on 3g and I think it's because I haven't updated in a long time.

I'm with you... I tried doing my own research, found this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795856) and asked if flashing the "Modified Firmware w/ Radio" file would be the correct one to give me all of the needed OTA updates. I was told yes (though as you mention, the size difference doesn't make sense), so I flashed it in Fastboot.
...and I still have the system update notification on my phone which I can't get rid of. If you figure it out, please post here. Thanks.
I hope to have the process all figured out once 5.0 is released so that I can upgrade without wiping, as folks who are not rooted and take the OTA will be able to do.

Have a look at this regarding Android L/5.0
Hi, I was told to post my question here. I bought my Note 3 with AT&T but switched to T-mobile with sim unlock. The device runs fine. My device is currently running N900A....NC2 (4.4.2). It is rooted, however not much has been done after rooting. I'm able to download OTA update. However, the installation fails after 25%. It is unclear if it is because I'm no longer with AT&T or is it because my device is rooted. I tried calling T-mobile but didn't get much help from them. What are my options at this point? I'm pretty new at this so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Your update fails because you were rooted. You'll need to Odin back to stock NC2 before you can take the OTA. Everything you need to accomplish what you're trying to do is located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006.
The NC2 files are near the bottom of the first post.

Happy to help.
It has been confirmed that updating to OF1 includes the downgrade protection we've seen in the T-Mobile builds on 5.1.1... You won't be able to root directly on this build, either, since the exploit was patched by this ROMs build date. I will make a package that will allow users on OE2 to to update to OF1 while maintaining root. If you are on OC3 still you can upgrade to OE2 using my tutorial in Android Development.
Can someone who updated to OF1 successfully please try downgrading back to OC3 using the ODIN image provided within this General Thread? Since no one else has released a OF1 ROM/ODIN package I was going to do it myself, but along the way I noticed a change within this update package-- it now includes a magic string header at the very end of the update process, just like the Lollipop 5.1.1 ROMS for other devices that now incorporate protections against downgrading. I'd rather not bone myself/everyone else out of future development if this mechanism is in fact in place.
Thanks in advance! As soon as I have a confirmation it is still downgradable, I will finish this package.
Odin will not downgrade after OF1. I've tried 5 times using 2 different PCs and Odin failed every time.

Why do you say this? Is there a reason why you believe if I have root now I won't be able to flash a developer's modified 5.1.1 once it arrives?

Had a few "?'s" on that statement. Purely assumption on my part, so take my previous statement and my next few statements with a grain of salt. Ping Pong root has been patched and unless they find another method there is no root on 5.1.1. Locked Bootloader, with no way around that, so no custom kernel to root (a la this method). Right now in order to upgrade to OE2, you have to use a patched version that keeps root, what happens when it can no longer be "patched" to keep root in further builds? If you've upgraded already to the latest build via OTA, you can no longer downgrade. Trust me, I want to continue to have root for what ever the latest build is out there but Verizon/Samsung have been locking things down tighter and tighter and there is always the possibility that an exploit isn't found and end up with no root on later builds than what we have now. Again, all of this is just my assumption and I hope to end up wrong in the end about everything, 5.1.1 isn't even out yet for us so we'll see when it drops.
I know this is probably not the right place to post this but i would be willing to donate a 100 dollars to someone that gives me root on verizon s6 OF1. I messed up and upgraded. So I sure hope someone can get root. I have tried everything.
Thanks

I've already tried to wipe and factory reset everything. it didn't work. I'm currently running non rooted stock 5.0.1 and I'm just trying to find the md5 file to flash on odin. if someone could help me out that would be awesome. I'm getting really annoyed with this phone tonight.
There isn't one. You need to flash NE3 and then update to 5.0.1.

Any of them are fine, your best bet would be to install the most recent one since that one presumably has the most bug fixes.
