Galaxy Tab 3 T210R / Bricked?
OK, I know I screwed this up b/c I was tired when I was working on the tablet. It's a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 T210R (one of several I'm working on). Feel free to say I"m an idiot, I already know it was a stupid mistake.
I reset to factory specs using the operating system after installing the KitKat 4.4.2 firmware update and TWRP. This was that last thing I did before the current status.
Current status is that it won't start, yet Odin registers the tablet as connected, and seemed to be able to reinstall the firmware & TWRP with a positive result.
UPDATE: I was able to connect kies which also seemed to complete a system update, except that the tablet still has a black screen and seemingly unresponsive buttons. This is so weird.
Sooooo, not sure if it's bricked or not, since Odin registers it being connected. However, Kies can't find it. And none of the buttons appear to work.
I have it plugged into the outlet charging at the moment (not the laptop). It was nearly fully charged when I screwed it up.
I have SD cards, and an a couple exact model tablets that work just fine with the new Firmware (4.4.2) and TWRP (2.8.20). Is it possible to clone one of the working ones onto this one?
The one thing I haven't done is try to install a new ROM.
Help? Bricked? Or... ?
Much appreciate any expertise or suggestions. Thanks.

Update 07/07/2015
I let the tablet's battery run down (as was suggested in one of the threads), and when I plugged it in to the AC power, I got the Samsung Galaxy logo!
I was then able to restart in download mode, and reinstall the md5 file via Odin. Not sure why letting the battery run down works, but at this point, I don't really care. I'm glad that the tablet could be resurrected from the dead, in spite of my mistake.
I hope this is helpful! :victory:

tab not showing up in ODIN
I have my galaxy tab soft bricked, but when I plug it in to ODIN, the pc does not recognise the tablet and therefore I can't reinstall the firmware, although the tablet is connected to the pc, as it gets charging when plugged in.
I've tried reinstalling samsung drivers, killing every samsung keys program running in background, another cable and even three different ODIN versions (v.1.7 // v3.07 // v.3.09), but it is not showing up in any version.
I have been looking for a solution since last year. last year I had windows 8 and it didn't work; then I upgraded to win 8.1. again nothing, and with windows 10 the same story. can anyone help me please?
thank you very much.

[Q] can someone help me out please

I got a hold of my friends galaxy tab by sprint and he had asked if i can fix it. The problem that he is having is that when you turn the tab on it gets stuck in the "Samsung" screen where it flashes but never fully boots up. Now typically if this occurred on my galaxy s phone i would just simply odin back to stock problem solved. However im not too sure the same applies for a galaxy tab. Can someone please help me out with this and let me know what steps need to be taken.
He did mentioned that before this problem occurred all he did was leave it charging over night and then unplugged it and tried to power it on and thats where he encountered this odd problem.
did he modify it at all?
maybe the kernel got hosed some weird way on the way it got charged, maybe overcharged and crapped out... you could try to reload a kernel...
when this happend with me, I had rooted it and applied cmw 3.0.0 without a kernel to support the ext partition. Try powering it off and holding down the vol button while powering it on. Does it go into download mode. If so get himdell from github (it acts similar to odin) once the drivers are loaded, install the libusb drivers for himdell in the galaxy tab drivers. there should be instructions in the text doc on what to do.
you can use himdell_frontend to flash a new kerenl.
Go to.. Galaxy Tab General
Or to... Galaxy Tab Q&A
This section is for posting of dev projects/guides/ref etc not for questions or general discussion.
when using himdell, is there a file(s) that will restore back to stock ?

As others have pointed out, this thread belongs in Q&A or Gen, however, having said that:
There's a discussion on flashing back to stock on a Sprint Tab here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969892&highlight=sprint+stock+firmware
That thread points to another that yields the file, but the discussion in the one I linked looked to be worth reading.
I can't comment personally, as I am running a VZW Tab.
Good luck.

[Q] Need help - My Galaxy Tab SPH-P100 Bricked

I had a more complicated version of this. couldn't format, couldn't mount, nothing. My tab showed this, I tried flashing several different kernels/roms/cwm, everything, nothing. Actually made it worse. It got to a point where when I powered on, I only got the backlit softkeys. A few times I got a weird image I've never seen before. Something about bad or unknown upload mode (with a little droid in teh corner....should have taken a picture). And finally I would get nothing; HOWEVER, if I plugged my tab into my laptop and gave it a few seconds, ODIN would see it. I could try flashing a kernel, but it would never process, just hang at the first step so....
with the tab plugged into the laptop and ODIN showing a connection, I would hold VOL DOWN + POWER until I see it disconnect (this is evident of a power down since I have no lights to indicate that). Once it disconnects (yellow box disappears) you can let go of POWER but do NOT release VOL DOWN. It will reconnect shortly thereafter. You are now in Download mode (whether or not you actually see anything on the tablet. You can test this theory by flashing something. What fixed it for me? I downloaded firmware from samfirmware.com. Specifically I downloaded JJ7 v2.2 (full file name I used was P1000XWJJ7.rar) I think what made the difference was using all 3 files. I did not use a PIT file, I put P1000XWJJ7-REV03-ALL-CL669843.tar.md5 in the PDA box, MODEM_P1000XXJK5_REV_00_CL690077.tar.md5 for Phone, and GT-P1000-CSC-MULTI-OXXJK2.tar.md5 in CSC. I did NOT check repartition. Now, this was after I had tried several things like flashing PIT by itself, different stock kernels, full ROMs, etc.... This was the final step I took. Now I'm back to normal.
I'd be interested to see if this solves anyone else's problem. I am so thrilled that I just fixed my "bricked" tab (no power, no response, no apparent charging even) that I'm hoping my time and effort can help someone else.
Let us know what happens. I am actually scouring the forums now because I know at least 2 others were having similar problems as I and maybe this will help them as well.
BTW, I did lose EVERYTHING on the internal SD, including all my backups. Thankfully I always made backups to External
P.S. I should mention it is an AT&T (GSM) Tab.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think your version of galaxy tab is different with mine and I am not sure that it will work. I am really desparate for solution. This disaster started when the tab's battery is low and suddenly off and when it's charged and turned on it bricked
Point being, tabs are tabs. You will need to use the same procedure, but a different ROM that is designed for your tablet. Go there and find a ROM. There is a thread about unbricking your tablet, I think in the Android Development section that should have a link to samfirmware.com and may provide you with a ROM version that should work. something that may help: plug your tab into the charger at least overnight. I used the stock charger and cable and charged it for 12 hours or so. I did not get any indication that it was charging since the screen and softkeys would not respond, but it did charge.
Of course, I look back and I think you have an indicator, but still a good idea. Try it anyway. Can't make it worse, eh? Mine seemed hardbricked, but it wasn't. I was real close to taking it apart before I found something that works. I believe, IMO, what really fixed it is flashing ROM (PDA), Modem, and CSC files all at once. It could have been something else, but that was the last thing I did before it finally booted.
Go to samfirmware.com, create a free account, and sign in. Then go here (I think your tab is a P1010, correct?) http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1010.htm
and Download this:
1010XWKC1 ## MULTI - CSC - OXXKC1 P1WIFI 2.2.1 2011 March DOWNLOAD
(click on DOWNLOAD)
Unzip that file you just downloaded
Start ODIN
Hold VOL DOWN and plug in tab to computer
I believe 3 files should be in the .rar (you can use 7-zip to open, Google it)
the MODEM file goes in Phone.
the CSC file goes in, you guessed it, CSC
last one is PDA.
I think I just rewrote instructions that can be found in the Galaxy Tab Bible. lol. This is what I would do. It worked for me.
Password for P1000XWJJ7.rar
Gentlemen,
I've downloaded both P1000XWJJ7.rar and P1010XWKC1_OXXKC1 to fix my bricked tab, but both require a password to extract the archives. Does anyone know the password? Has anyone had the same issue? I doubt it, otherwise i think it would have been addressed. Any help is appreciated.
I'm having the same problem were you able to fix it?

try sampro.pl
see if that works.
I too require the passwords to be able to extract these files if someone would be so kind.
Copied straight from SamFirmware.com. It is right at the top of the download page.
try both of these... seems it could be either one of them

do a quick search of the dev thread for EA24 and you should be able to find the original SPH-P100 files. then you can find the EB28 and EF17 updates as well to get all the way to the official GB release.
tried the suggested file still get the error that the OP got in the first screen

I have the T-Mobile version of this, but here's a guide and download files to recover your stock ROM. You can follow the entire guide if you want the Overcome ROM as well:
Guide:
http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=17
Downloads:
http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=21
Good luck!
NOTE:
Sprint modem is not listed, but you can fix that later. If you can get it to work with this guide & using the last modem file, we can go from there.

Samsung Galaxy S I9000 - ICS 4.0.3 - Stopped Booting

Hi,
I installed a Cyanogenmod ICS 4.0.3. build 17 firmware on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000 almost 5 months ago from a tutorial. The update itself has been a fantastic experience from the start and I'm not sure if my current problem is even related to that firmware update. Apparently new users like me can't post URLs so I can't provide it now. If you need it let me know.
I have to admit that lately the phone has been rebooting every couple of days, or Android's been freezing and I had to remove the battery, but I didn't think too much of it. It wasn't too bad of a problem really, but this morning all of a sudden the device has become totally unusable. Help! :-/
The issue that's started since today is that my phone won't boot anymore. It seems to reboot somewhere during the boot process. There's only two screens that will be shown, before it reboots. When I remove the battery, put it back in and attach the charger, I will only see two charging screens. While charging, the device will also*reboot after a while.*
I can get into download-mode (volume-down + ok-button + power-key) but can't get into recovery mode (volume-up + ok-button + power-key).
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!
Greetings,
Adriaan
ps -> I have pictures of the booting screens and the charging screens but wasn't allowed to post them here. Again, if you need to see them please PM.
Hi,
I think you have to reflash using odin. You can be happy to reach download mode
I'll try that, thanks.

just to be sure...
Just to be sure, could you please check that my logic is correct?
First off: the tutorial I had followed had me follow a few procedures:
first I updated Galaxy S with XXJVU Firmware
then rooted Galaxy S on XXJVU Firmware
after that I flashed CM 9, ICS 4.0.3. build 17 to the device
To which of these steps were you referring? My guess would be to take the last one, but perhaps it's wiser to restart the tutorial from the beginning. I'd appreciate any additional support you can give me, you can understand that I don't want to brick my device due to my misunderstandings..
Seems like a high overclock or high underclock

Not sure what you mean there. In any event I've never taken any steps to overclock or underclock my device. Maybe it's going senile and I get to buy a galaxy s III soon
*phew* well my problem's been solved. Since I was able to get into download mode I flashed a baseline rom with Odin and found my way back to ICS. One surprise along the way was that from the same tutorial I had followed (and had happy results from) a few months ago, the step of using Odin to root the device wasn't working, it kept getting stuck at 'zImage' during the process! What's more, after that I was getting the BSOD image (the phone, exclamation mark and computer), which I found could be helped by using a 'One-Click Unbrick for Samsung devices'.
That was a XXJVU firmware. After some snooping around I found a different firmware than the one I had previously used and had switched from a XXJVU firmware to a XXJW4 firmware through a page on XDA-Developers. Did that. It worked. And now I'm back to ICS again, yay!
Thanks for the help along the way!

P7320 Any Hope ?

We have a AT&T LTE 8.9 which I now deduce is a P7320 model. A year back when I got the 8.9, I rooted it, CWMed and installed a a AOKP ROM and it has been running great since. However, last week I swapped it for another device with my brother who decided I should put it back to the stock ROM so that he could ebay it.
Well with all the timeliness and hectic mode of the festive season, I failed to research thoroughly and flashed it a stock P7300/P7310 ROM. Which rendered it completely dead. It would not respond to anything, power/vol+, power/vol-, power/both vols, usb to pc, usb to wall with no charging icon e.g. Odin doesn't even see it. The only sign of life if that, is that it shows up as an error with QHUSUB_DLOAD in device manager.
Right now, I have the power button taped down to see if I can get anywhere draining the battery. You would think that Odin should at least see it? Is this the end of my tab?

First of all, is your tab booting to AOSP now ??
if not can you see the [Samsung Galaxy Tab Logo], and after what did that happened (is it after you flashed a P7300 Stock ROM??)??
have you ever flashed stock ROM through odin before??
can you at least enter the recovery (CWM)??? cuz that would make things easier
we should know these things before we can help

The tab is non-responsive to *anything*. It won't boot, tethered or not, after the incorrect stock rom flash. I cannot get into recovery and odin does not see it. I have had a blank screen since.
Yes, I am somewhat familiar with odin/fastload/adb and various other tools for my android phones. Prior to this deadly flash, I had used odin to install cwm and a ROM on it. However, at this point, odin cannot see the tab either.

I assume that the problem is caused from the bootloader incompatibility
so you're saying that you can't enter the download mode or CWM
and your computer can't recognize your tab through adb connection ether
if this is exactly the case, then I don't think anyone can help you
maybe you should try to take your tab to any close samsung branch
Good luck

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N - Stuck in bootloop

Hi All.
I am looking for help and advice with regards to getting my wife's Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N working again.
My wife has been having issues with this phone restarting it's self at random on and off for the last few months, but as the phone is always in use/needed, I have been unable to have a look for the cause of the problem.
A few weeks ago the phone powered down, and would not switch back or, it would also not charge.
After removing the battery and having a closer look it seems that the battery has swollen and is no longer flat so a new replacement battery was ordered.
The new replacement battery was fitted and the phone was put on charge, the phone displayed that is was now charging, I thought all was good and just left the phone to charge.
Some time later on I tried to power on the phone, but am just greeted by "Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N" logo and then the phone just restarts again, and keeps on doing this.
The phone is 100% stock, it has not been unlocked or re-flashed.
The phone is on contract from Tesco Mobile, but my wife has been told by Tesco that the warranty has expired.
From searching on the forum it seems that it is quite common for Samsung phones to get stuck in this kind of boot loop.
So far it seems that there are two possible ways to fix the current issue.
1 - Power off the phone and go into boot-loader and do a factory reset.
or
2 - Re-flash the stock rom.
So I thought I would 1st try the factory reset.
So I removed and replaced the battery, Held down "Volume Up, Home, Power", I am then greeted by "Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N" logo and the phone just sits there.
So it now looks like the only other option is to re-flash the phone with the stock rom.
But how do I find out what stock rom that I need for this phone, as I am unable to get into the bootloader to run any ADB or FastBoot commands.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
Best Regards.

Download the stock firmware you prefer from here: http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/inde...iii-mini-firmwares&catid=55:samsung&Itemid=82
Then follow this guide to install it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2429169
Riky720: Thank you for your reply, and the links.
I have already been reading the following guides
[GUIDE] Stock Rom - All S3 Mini
and
[GUIDE] Unroot / Unbrick, Flash official stock firmware on Galaxy SIII Mini GT-I8190
Can you please advice how I can find out what is the correct firmware / stock rom to download, as the phone will not boot, and I am unable to use ADB or Fastboot to pull any information from the phone.
As said before my wife got the phone from Tesco Mobile on contract, and from my understanding is that Tesco Mobile uses the O2 Network.
Looking at the list of firmware's I can't not see any listed as Tesco Mobile.
Thanks again for your time.
Best Regards.
I am still having issues with this phone, and I have been unable to progress forward.
I did start this post: Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N - Re-flashing stock rom, to try and locate the stock firmware (rom) so that I could re-flash it.
From my other post I have been able to locate the following firmware (roms) for the phone.
I8190NXXAMJ2_I8190NBTUAMJ1_BTU.zip
I8190NXXAMG1_I8190NOXXAMG1_BTU.zip
I8190NXXALL6_I8190NOXXALL3_BTU.zip
I have tried flashing all of the above firmwares (roms) one by one, but I am still having the same issue.
Can anyone please advice me on anything else that I can try.
Thanks for your time.
Best Regards.
I am still having issues with this phone, and would really like some help and advice.
I found this post with a similar issue: S3 Mini stuck in boot loop after flashing cm 10.2 try odin am i missing a step?
The above post pointed me here: Official ROOTED firmwares for the SIII mini - OXX csc
I have once again tried all the I8190N firmware (roms) listed, and I am still having the same issue as before.
Just to recap the issue that I am having.
The phone will switch on, get as far as displaying "Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N" then the phone restarts, this will on happening.
If you try to start the phone in bootloader / recovery mode the phone will just display "Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N" and sit there.
Powering up the phone in Odin mode seems to work fine.
Thanks again for your time.
Best Regards.

Let me understand.
Download mode is working fine and ODIN recognizes phone ?
You tried to flash stock ROM via Odin ?
But It still stucked in bootloop ?
That is correct.
Are you sure about did you find the stock ROM ?
Behind the battery there is a paper. With S/N you may understand which baseband do you have
I am not sure about the stock firmware (rom), that is why I have been asking for help and advice.
The sticker under the battery has the following details:
MODEL: GT-I8190N
FCC ID: A3LGTI8190N
SSN: -I8190NGSMH
IMEI: ******/**/******/*
S/N: R21D7D7BEJE

Are you above to advice me what is the correct firmware (rom) I need with the above details?
Best Regards.
You should try kies. It will find the correct ROM but I didnt use it and its diffrent from ODIN
Kies does not work, when you have kies loaded and then plug the usb cable into the phone kies just shows connecting but fails to connect or do anything else.
You need to unistall ODIN. Did you entered your phone S/N and did kies download the files ?

Here are some question about Kies.
Does Kies detect a rooted device and deny its USB connection?
Or limit any feature on it?
I`m facing a problem using Odin and USB connection while
trying to flash TWRP update on my Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (GT-I8190N).
i have no issue using Kies to make a backup before, so i`m guesting that`s the reason.
my solution was to uninstall Kies temporarily(keeping the backup files).
Its no major problem, just trying to communicate and share opinions in this forum.
Anyone having/had this kind of problem?
