Discuss the current release in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/index-google-nexus-5-android-m-t3120746
apart from being some kind of official place for everyone to go "uh is it out yet" "uuhhh its still not out" "when's it out?" what's the point in this thread?

I have a question, is the second preview is only available for OTA?
I hoped they would release it on Independence Day in America but nope.

we should have been on at least 2nd build according to this https://developer.android.com/preview/overview.html but no regrets hope more time for release means more bug fixes and more features....

True, but when you have ways to fix the road and just keep on watching the cars crash...There are still some bugs on 5.1.1 that could have been solved on previous versions. It just seems that google does not care sometimes...

it's impossible to find any advanced software who constantly change bug free, more so when we are talking about OS. Android could be bug free is they were to frooze the developpement of the OS, stop adding new feature or changing things and only work on bug.

No OS will ever be 100% bug free until devices ship with an AI that can fix its own code on the fly... so we've got some time to wait on that happening.
However, yeah, there bugs happening (for me) from 4.4.3 that have never been resolved. Somewhat disappointing. Still can't wait for the next M Dev Preview though!!

Well it is April 1st...
looks exactly like if i edited my build.prop to say 4.4.3, rebooted to have the change take affect, started recording a video, boot up, go to about phone and see the 4.4.3. they show no other proof, nor try to.
Google are too busy pi**ing about with pokemon rather than fixing their devices.

Too soon for the next update? You do know that 4.4.3 is an incremental update and not a major one right? We have a few bugs that are long overdue.

Yea, I'm aware. With so many incremental updates in such a short period, it makes more sense for Google to roll these minor fixes with the fix of something that's been inherently broken since the release of the OS like the audio latency issue. We typically get a late spring/summer update, IMO it would be easier to release everything in a bigger update. That's just my opinion, by no means does that make it right.

I'd also rather things be released in one big update but keep in mind that certain things are just unacceptable. Like how data goes in and out. That's the biggest issue I have with my Nexus 5. Other than that I am in no rush for any other bug fixes.
A "phone" should at least be able to make phone calls and receive text without having to toggle Airplane mode on and off.

I think this is bull !
We know 4.4.3 will be coming soon and leaked info to date shows a build of KTUxxx and not the build shown in the screenshot.
I guess we can expect this sort of c*** today.

That could also be an option. But none of the supported devices have a July update. So guess that isnt the case.
I think they maybe not working today. Just a few more months and then the monthly wait for a update is over..then no more official updates for the nexus 6

Yes. the last update will be in October.
Every update I've compared the new system files with the previous version. Only a few files changed.
No updates ..... it's the start of a quiet period.
Time to give a look to a new device. I am keeping an eye on the Plus One 5.

Since decryption and debloating it's a very fast phone. Will keep it a while.
The only disadvantage is the round back. On table/desk, input is not easy when the phone is spinning.

OP5 is sexy but still not worth
The only disadvantage imho is the soon no longer software support, but I don't really know what it really involves as security patches are not quite safer. (critical breaches will always be updated as XP was with wannacry)

Never had a problem with the round back. Using a case and always lay it on table on its front, since the case is closed no problm with scratches on the screen.
Phone is debloated too. But even without debloating it runs fine and for me fast enough.
Think it is usually about the 5 or 6 th of month released if any.
July update is live now for nexus 6.

An update on the new version, my first attempt at flashing N6F27H from the Factory Image (not OTA) ended up with the CPU running at 100% nearly all of the time with no Deep Sleep seen. I just reflashed the Factory Image for N6F27H again and I'll update whether the results are the same or better this time.
I have jumped from the S7 to the S8 (TMO Branded) , from my experience from the S7 I got the chance to have the Galaxy Beta app and got right into the Nougat Beta. I am ancious of having the Oreo beta on my S8. I promise to keep you guys updated on any news I find.

I know something. I was told by a source that it will be mid-late October or early November. I know samsung has an October build of Oreo with user keys instead of engineering keys. This is for the T-Mobile varient. Also the old beta testing app from last year probably won't work.

Good, gonna join now.
According to this site, posted today (Nov 1) https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-register-for-galaxy-s8-oreo-beta-program/ it states you have to go into the Samsung+ menu and 'register' for the Galaxy Beta Program. I don't see this anywhere in my Samsung+ app. I have a T-Mobile S8. Any ideas?
The registration & rollout have not begun yet. It "allegedly" (according to a couple sources) begins tomorrow (11/2). No clue where the one guy who has it got it from, as he will not say where he got it.
tomorrow 11am PST Samsung+

If you turn off Wi-Fi and check for updates it should start downloading the beta like it did for me.

Any info about 64bit/32bit?
moto g5s plus
This device will be upgraded to the Android 8 (Oreo) release of Android, pending partner support.
Do you have the latest Motorola software
I bought mine at Best Buy
Will almost certainly be 32Bit.
And we will still be waiting a while because the notes say that we get security up thru June 1st which hasn't happened yet. So implementing that will take probably a week at least. Soak testing will take probably 2 weeks, so we will probably see it late June/early July.
It sucks that they aren't doing anything about our awful camera(s).
Android OEMs get the contents of the security updates weeks in advance, so it's understandable that they'd release the June security update a few days early. It happens all the time with manufacturers that actually release updates often.

It's been coming since it was announced a year ago "from this fall". It'll be coming in a few months. Nothing to see here - literally.

So they added the stability updates, but ripped out everything else it seems. Not cool. Wonder how long it'll actually take us to get the 9.05 build.

Got this off reddit. Seems to add the new gestures from 9.0.5(?) as well as other improvements. Can someone who got this update on the TMO firmware check to see if the gestures are actually the ones in the latest update. Then we can confirm that the TMO variant just has a different naming convention.
Also, the build of that is 181029 while the 9.0.5 intl. is 181103
