For anyone that uses google fit on both their phone, and watch... Does your steps from your phone overwrite your watch steps?? For example... if I leave my phone behind and walk somewhere (do this often), I come back and my watch step counter is higher than my phone (which is correct).. but once I refresh the google fit app on my phone the steps on my watch reset to what it was before I got up to take the walk...
They should stay in sync. All of the fit info is cached on the web, and should reflect the same info on both the watch and phone. Mine does.
Yes
It most certainly does. It's been a big issue for me. I have a Galaxy S6 (not important as it happens across multiple phones) and an LG Watch R. If I go on the treadmill and walk/run with my phone set aside my watch will count my steps correctly. As soon as I stop and grab my phone the phones data almost immediately overwrites my watch data. I have to manually put in the data off my treadmill if I want it to be correct. Happens every time. The only solution I have is to walk with my phone which is annoying.

So I purchased the Galaxy Gear on amazon.com and probably made a huge mistake my taking the cut rate route by purchasing the watch from Amazon Warehouse Deals. The watch came in pristine condition, no scratches at all, but the probable reason why the watch was returned became evident after my initial start up.
The main problem that I am having with the watch is that the device will automatically power down after a short period of time after entering 'dim' mode. I factory reset the device, and even entered recovery to perform a factory reset, but the problem still persists. I don't have much more information other than that. I tried changing the mode to having the screen turn off instead of entering dim mode, but instead of entering a standby mode the watch simple turns all the way off.
I do not think it is a battery issue (or hardware) because if I use the device normally it functions perfectly fine.
I called Samsung, after convincing the rep that the watch was new, she told me the only possible problem was that the internal settings within the watch were bugged or not set properly, and my only solution was to either exchange the product, or bring it to a Best Buy and ask the samsung rep there to reflash it. i wanted to ask here first to see if anybody knew any software tricks that could possibly fix the device.
Normal for the Galaxy Gear, there is a forum for the Galaxy Gear not this one.
The Gear Live, allows you to select "always on"
Hi,
is there any way to sync steps I do with my watch in offline mode with Phone , because I donĀ“t have my phone always at my pocket, but yes I always have the watch, and when I arrive near the phone and it syncs with my watch, then the steps I have stored at my watch are lost and it gets the number of steps of my phone, I would like to sync the steps that I have made with my watch, and I think the best it would be to have both side sync, it means that steps made with phone without having watch, it stores and syncs them with the watch and the steps made with the watch and without having phone it stores and syncs them with phone.
is there any solution ?
thanks
Scenario so far:
Went camping, had watch in flight mode for 3 days, watch completely drained of battery
Got home, tried to start watch, watch was stuck with the Battery icon on screen when on cradle, wouldnt turn on no matter what (long press, on off cradle etc)
Left watch charging for 24 hours, no difference
Placed watch in freezer for 3 hours, then back on cradle, started, but would not connect to phone
Forgot watch in bluetooth settings on phone, uninstalled reinstalled android wear (Nexus 6P)
Factory reset watch, would not connect to phone.
Checked with multiple phones, computers and tablets, watch does not seem to be advertising bluetooth at all
Used ADB to downgrade to 5.02 still not visible
Tried flashing to LG Watch Urbane image floating around here, still not visible
tried:
adb shell settings put global airplane_mode_on 0
adb shell settings put global bluetooth_mode_on 1
Still no luck
Any further suggestions?
Why did you put the watch in the freezer???
God knows if it was broken and for which reason, but now it is broken for sure.

Thank you for your helpful comment.
It was completely stuck, i had little to lose. Having read some information from others, I came to the conclusion that I had very little to lose in putting it in the freezer, and so i did so, in a ziploc bag with a couple of silica gel bags. In fairness to me, it has gotten the watch to go significantly further than it was.
I tried putting in a short password and it took some doing because of the small keyboard, must have tried a dozen times to get it done. In hindsight I'd say I put the wrong password in the first time and then had to get it wrong again in order to have a match and have it accepted. Then when I went back and put in the right password it of course didn't work. I tried for a while to enter in variations but eventually gave up.
The fix is pretty simple and I imagine many know it but some might not so I'm putting it out here. The only way the watch can be restored to functionality if you cant get your password in is to reset it. This cant be done on the watch since you cant access the menu, you have to go into android wear to perform the reset. Open android wear, select options, lg watch sport, scroll to the bottom and you'll see unpair and reset. While your watch is resetting remove it from android wear and go into bluetooth settings, select the watch, forget it. Reboot phone.
At that point you're going to have to go through setup again, it's pretty easy with these phones so not a big deal.
Do not remove the watch from android wear while a password is set, you will not be able to access the recovery to reset it on the watch and you will not be able to connect the phone to it when it is locked down with a password. Make sure the watch is reset before you remove it from android wear.
One last thing, if you want to do better than a pattern IMO go for a PIN. Its fairly easy to hit the much less crowded numbers board compared to the on screen keyboard which is a trial at best.
Hope this helps someone, it took me more than an hour of screwing around this morning before I figured out where the reset option in android wear was located.
Quick back story, bought ZW3 and turns out it never made any sounds. Purchased a second one while the first went back to Asus for repair. When I got it back, I confirmed that it was working fine and then I shut it down, out it back in it's original box and put in closet.
After spending the normal time getting the watch and the phone to work as I wanted, I believe everything was working as it should. Then AW 2.0 finally came, and a little more learning, no problem. But then the phone goes to Android 8.0.0 and and I'm back to frustrations, such as no longer when you select your watch in the BT list of paired devices, does it say "connecting" or does the BT icon ever show it's connected, battery life now sucks, blah blah blah.
About 4 weeks ago, ZW3 #2 half the time the sound is low in volume and distorted like a severely blown speaker. So I shut shut it down and pull out ZW #1 and it doesn't want to connect to AW. Eventually I end up defaulting it but holy shizzle sticks! It takes forever to load ll apps and finally update to AW 2.0.... like more than half a day!
Now I bring you to yesterday and ZW #1 stops making sounds altogether AGAIN and on top of all that, I can't get either watch to be seen or therefore connected to AW on the phone. I have repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the phone and 90% of the time it opens and sits on a white screen with the logo. Other times it goes to the "Set Up" screen and the first time I set the permissions and such, and after that it goes to the "Select your device" screen but never sees either one.
Now, if I "forget" the devices on the BT setting screen, it pops up with the request to pair and the code, but that makes no difference in AW functioning.
So, What little hidden step am I missing? I should be able to switch back and forth between to identically set up devices, or at least connect to one. So frustrated, plus now I have to figure out how to get Asus to realize that they didn't fix sh!t.
send all three in and tell them to give one good one.
You know you have to have both watches paired to phone, You cant just take second zw3 out and try to use it like it was the first one, do you? Yes? Ok.
Now if there is still problem:
1.Factory reset watch (unpair from phone from within the watch settings)
2.reset wireless connections on phone (will loose all wifi networks and BT paired devices)-but this helped me get rid of wear app misbehaving (like you wrote-forever sitting on splash screen, etc.),
3.clear data and cache of Wear app and then uninstall it
4.Restart phone.
5.Pair the watch.
