[Q] s6 Active Volume for Calls and Media - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Can someone who has both the Samsung s5 (the regular version and NOT the Active model) and Samsung s6 Active tell me if there is any difference in the volume with both the earpiece and speaker? In the S5, I know there is an option to enable hearing aid mode which seems to boost the volume some. I am assuming the same feature is available in s6 Active, but is it noticeably louder both when trying to hear calls and media?
OR would I be better off to get a T-mobile version s5 with unlocked bootloader and root it and install a volume booster? I know you can root at least some of these models of AT&T phones, but without an unlocked bootloader, I do not plan to. My AT&T s5 came with 5.0 so it is not an option anyway.
I was able to use volume boosters with other rooted/jailbroken phones, and it was enough most of the time to boost the call volume to an acceptable level without damaging the speaker of the phone.
Thank you,

S4 active & Bluetooth APt-x

I recently purchase the At&t S4 active and a pairs of Sennheiser MM-550X,
Those of you who don't know apt-x is codec for bluetooth to keep the sound quality as the original (really close to) source sound files,
in compare to normal Bluetooth which downgrade sound quality to near 120Kbps.
SGS4 active supposed to support this but on the web there's so little information about it,
So.. I want to know how can i confirm Mine got the Apt-x? from what I heard some android version Not support this..
Does Acid audio engine support this?
Is anyone tried?
Thanks!

Bluetooth voice commands?

I currently have a galaxy s3 running Cyanogenmod 10.2.1 and I have ran into a very annoying problem. I bought a bluetooth headset in the hopes that I could press the call button and use google now to send text messages, calls, etc. However it works nothing like this at all, sure it will let me do that if the phone is unlocked, but if the screen is off and it is in my pocket the best I get is "voice dialer".
What I am wondering is if the Moto X is able to touchless control, through a bluetooth headset, while the device is locked? If so then I am sold on the phone. lol... Or should I wait for the X+1?

Agreed. I can touch my BT headset button with the phone locked and screen off and say 'call (wife's name)' and choose mobile, work, etc. No unlock necessary. BTW, I'm using a Moto H17 BT headset.

[Q] Low Microphone Gain

Hello everyone, I'm relatively new to android.I am currently using an SXL as a temporary phone until my replacement iPhone arrives and I'm having some trouble with it.
During calls I find that I can hear the other party loud and clear but they can hardly hear me.I have to cup the base of the phone and talk into it to be audible to the other party.
I'm using a Vodafone Australia SXL in India with carrier BSNL.
It's running the latest official ROM for Vodafone Australia with Android 4.0.3,S-On and locked bootloader.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance !
Also, the audio when I'm using speaker phone or using the voice recorder on the phone the microphone volume is at a good level.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the noise cancelling mics?
Is there any way to disable them ?

k3 note android 6.0 low calling volume

Lenovo k3 Note Headset volume call volume is too low
i always need to put on speaker to talk on phone
cant listen in headset mode ..
i have installed mkt mode but i need to know which values i need to change
to increase calling volume.
thanks in advance..!
I have this problem as well.
The same problem exists in my father-in-law's device as well. We tried tweaking the parameters internally from the MTK Engineering mode, but it did not improve. Tomorrow I'm going to try some more stuff. I'm pretty sure it is not the hardware.
As per his reports, things are weird. He says that generally via BSNL sim only the volume is low. It is generally fine via the other sim (Jio). I also have to swap the cards and check.

Skype bluetooth doesn't work in the Note 8

I recently switched from the galaxy note 4 to the galaxy note 8 and that made me unable to use skype on the headset. This did not happen with my Note 4, and it does not happen with other apps (i.e. whatsapp)
Steps to reproduce:
Have the headset paired with the phone
Ensure you can get audio from multimedia players
Ensure you can get audio from normal phone calls
Ensure you can get call audio from other apps (i.e. whatsapp)
Ensure you have the latest firmware (1.3.4) and the latest skype (8.10.0.4)
Make a call on skype (i.e. sound testing service)
Expected:
All media streams pause
Headset switches to call mode (you can hear noise cancelling turn off, as happens with normal calls via the phone)
Call works normally and you can hear as well as speak to the other person
Observed:
All media streams pause
Call is routed to the phone earpiece
When hanging up in skype, the skype sound for ending calls is heard on the headphone
Workarounds attempted (none of them work):
Settings > Sounds and vibration > separate app sound
Choose app as skype and audio device as "bluetooth device (QC35)"
Fail
Install BTmono from the play store
You can hear QC35 changing to "call mode" (noise cancelling stops)
As soon as you try calling via skype, QC35 returns to normal mode
Fail
Install SoundAbout
Fail
Install Samsung Connect
Switch Audio Output to QC35
Fail
Workaround for incompatibility between QC35 and Skype for android
Hi,
I've had exactly the same issue and the only workaround has been to use Skype Lite instead of the normal version of the app and the beta version. I guess they use sime type of codec not compatible with the headset.
Have you found any other solution? I don't know if Skype lite is available in all the countries but I'm sure you can easily find it on the web in case you'd like to try if that works for you too
No, I returned my note 8 and switched back to the note 4 (a much better phone in my opinion, especially when you consider how old it is). The root experience in the note 8 is not worth it, everything is crippled and support just wasn't there when I got it. Most of the stuff in XPOSED is broken. I might wait for the note 9 or the new motorola z3 force.
I tried posting in microsoft forums for help, which was completely useless. I also tried posting in bose, and they were much more helpful, as you can see for yourself, but still wasn't able to fix the issue.

Here are a few things you can try:
- Post in samsung forums asking for help
- Try attempting some of the things I tried. Maybe they work for you. There have been a ton of updates since I asked this question.
- Try updating the firmware on your QC35, especially if you've never done it: you get the ability to turn off noise cancelling in one of the patches.
- See if the new QC35-II works. Just go to a store and pair your phone with one of the showcase units.
- For that matter, see if one of the showcase QC35 works with your phone.
- Try pairing your QC35 with another note 8. Just go to a phone store and use the demo phone there (though be careful, some showcase phones are demonstrators and use different hardware)
- Try pairing your QC35 with another model entirely. It's unlikely to be the android version, otherwise bose would have noticed...
