is there any application that blocks or hide SMS in lollipop? Normal or exposed
Are you trying to disable the SMS completely or like block a number?

You could try freezing mms services or your mms application in titanium. I don't know what happens if you get a message and you don't have an app to handle it.

I want block a number
Try root call blocker

Try checking with your carrier. You might be able to do it through them

Is there someway to set up a separate voicemail mailbox for incoming calls originating from hidden numbers? "Hi, this phone is not capable of receiving calls from hidden or unknown numbers, change your settings and call again please". Preferably completely automatic and so that the phone don't even ring.

You need third party application for that
Root call blocker is one of the best.
Though you need to send it to your operator voice mail. like symbian android is not capable of using own system voice mail box. Above said application can send define call to define action (block/silent/voice mail divert etc)
I'm not rooted. Use stock and intend to do so. No solution for stock users?
You may find call blocker for non rooted on market, but this application I told you is the best, even worth to root

Finally got mine just a little bit ago, did a search on our in the General Sub-Forum for any threads on this so figured I would start it. Pretty stable so far for me.
Are you able to send and receive MMS? I still can't..

This is the 3rd update since support for SMS and MMS. I have yet to be able to send or receive MMS on neither of my devices
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
haven't had any issues yet, slower than using stock app but still goes through for ME. Takes around 4-5 minutes to round trip send myself one and receive it.

Same here. It's pretty slow.
A good way to get any of the MMS to send almost as fast as it does in stock messaging app is to attempt to send the MMS and you can immediately make a call or AirPlane Mode or Mobile Data toggle it and then hang up or disable AirPlane Mode or Enable Mobile Data and it'll send much quicker. The phone call method only when on 3G though, not LTE
How is the interaction with google voice? I frequently dont receive messages using GV integrated on sprint.
Hangouts took control of the voicemail on my phone after I enabled SMS. Instead of getting a voicemail notification I received a text saying I had a message.

It's ok. Full integration won't be until May 2014 though.

Were you able to figure out how to disable that sms voicemail? I'd rather use the visual voicemail that came with HTC One.
No, I had to undo sms with hangouts.

I was having the same problem. Download System Panel lite from the play store. Open GV then press back. Open System Panel and tap on GV in the list then tap exclude. This will stop the service from being flushed.
The problems i have with MMS is that it has to be on 3G to send. Otherwise (if i am on 4G or Wifi) it wont send.
I currently have a mod to enable MMS on wifi with the stock app, that also takes the compression off.
Also. It wont send SMS when roaming. I need to be on sprint.
Do you guys expreience this too? Or is it just all the mods i have affecting my phone?
Not Sure But..
Theres an Stock Messaging app in the play store that does SMS over Wifi.
Its basically the CM messaging app with some extra goodies.
Its called 8SMS
id supply a link but XDA isnt letting me post a link since im new. Sigh
Hangouts is terrible with mms/ group messaging

I want some feedback guys. I came from a HTC Rezound, on that phone whenever I receive a MMS my phone will download the image automatically even if my mobile data was off no need to manually turn it on, but on the
Moto X every time I get a MMS I have to turn on my mobile to receive MMS manually.
Is there a way for MMS work the same way as my Rezound?
Thanks in advance

What messaging app are you using? Most will have an option in the settings to automatically retrieve MMS and it's usually off by default.

I'm using hangout as default and I don't see any option in the app
Edit: is hangouts, hope they add this feature soon I like the app, but I might go back to the stock messaging

Go to Hangouts settings => SMS => Check the Auto Retrieve MMS square.
Then it will auto retrieve.

K so that option is check on hangouts. I forgot to mention the person sending the MMS is using an iPhone don't know if it has anything to do with this.

The sender's device shouldn't matter. Are they still not auto retrieving with the box checked? Do you have any other messaging apps installed that aren't disabled?

Anyone else having issues with group SMS from my verizon phone going out as multiple individual texts despite the check box under group texts checked in settings?
Temporarily switched to textra- bit ugly compared to stock. I thought this was just an att issue
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
If the other phone isn't capable or options disabled, be it SMS or mms, it does this.
Ahhh. But it works on their phone when I send via textra

At the top of the default app, make sure group conversation is selected and not individual text messages.

So I installed evolve SMS and everything was ok. Now after a day when a new text comes in and I reply it just disappears when I press send.
I uninstalled evolve SMS and have the same issue with my stock SMS app.
Any ideas as to what it might be or a fix??

reinstall stock sms from stock firmware zip.
if still nothing restore from backup
if you dont have a back up time for a factory wipe.
if you still have the same issue sounds like something got deleted and you need to restore to stock and re root.
I'm not rooted so how would I reinstall the stock app. I haven't deleted anything.

If you're not rooted and not custom, might go to the carrier and ask them to fix it.
