This is actually a "pseudo" unboxing. I already unboxed it for the camera, but had some technical difficulties and had to do a 2nd take.
I'll do a full review after I have a chance to play.

I'm trying to edit the original post, but since I'm a new member, I'm restricted. I tried linking to the video using the "YouTube" tag, but it didn't work.
I'll edit the original post to include a direct link to the video.
If anyone can help me embed the video directly into the post, it would be most appreciated.
Thank you.

It could use better lighting but over all great description.

I don't get why anyone would get this... if you're going to get this thing just get the slightly better looking one right from Google Play. Even costs less.

The case sold on Google Play is completely different. It has a cover over the screen that you open like a book, and it's made out of TPU. The Incipio case is a hard case, with no cover on the front. The Play store also charges tax and shipping, so that $20 ends up costing $32.83. The Incipio case is only $24.99 on Amazon. Tax is about $2.37, and if you have Amazon Prime shipping is free. That comes out to $27.36, which is a better deal IF you are looking for a low profile hard case.

Hmmmm, yesterday they had the pink one and the black one listed. Today I can only find the pink, and it's temporarily out of stock. It did just come out, so I am assuming they are waiting for their stock.
Here's the link for the pink one:

Thank you very much!
seems like a pretty solid case that doesn't add too much thickness to the device. my only gripe is that it doesn't hug the borders enough, i mean if you were to drop it on a corner, it would still get damaged or scratched to some degree. please correct me if i am wrong on that
Not to threadcrap but for 25 bucks....doesn't seem worth it. A tpu case that's 4 bucks shipped seems to be on par with this case

Have you purchased both so that you have an actual comparison, or are you just assuming?
TPU cases add much more bulk than a slim hard plastic case. Just look at the pictures for a TPU case. You can see by looking at the cutouts for the buttons and speakers that there is considerable bulk added. The Incipio Feather case is much thinner. Similar to the Poetic Element case, which is also a slim fitting hard plastic case.

yes, but how does this compared to other hard shell cases from ebay for less than half the cost?
i've purchased hard cases from ebay before for phones and 'brand name' hard cases, there doesn't seem to be much difference...

I completely agree with that. I usually buy cheapos on ebay, too. But, I haven't seen many hard plastic cases for the N7. Just lots of TPU's. I actually went with the Poetic Element case for $15 shipped.
Hi, I'm buying a G2 and was browsing the cases that are available for it. I don't like any of them - they make the phone extremely ugly and bulky IMO. I like spigen cases, but they only have the slim armor, which is maybe the least ugly of all, but still would love to see something similar to the Hybrid Neo. Any idea if such a case actually exists (stylish and protective). I really like cases that provide good grip too.
Incipio Feather Shine?
Doubt it'll offer much protection though.
Have you seen the ringke slim yet? It's, like it's name implies, super slim, and has a nexus 5 feel.

5$ eBay leather pouch. Slim, protective, hassle free, still makes your phone not look like a 400$ brick. Take it out, use it, put it back in.
Most of the slim cases will give you protection to the back side at best, while screen, the most important part, stays unprotected.

Honestly, the dual pro as a pretty thin profile considering how much protection it offers. Slight increase in size but not an uncomfortable increase

After trying a few of the most popular cases on Amazon I ended on the Spigen SlimArmor. It's by far my favorite case for the G2 I've found. It's pretty slim, makes it feel and look premium with the metalish back, and protects the front with the little lip. I've dropped the phone a few times to and it seems to be doing a great job protecting it and the screen. Plus I really like the color. Everything I want and needed.
Only con I have found is the head phone port is really small and most plugs do not fit.
Still has my vote!

It' s gonna be the melody or dual pro. The spigen is interesting too, but i heard it won't help if you drop it on the front
How wide and thick is the slim armor ?

I cant find this case for the verzion version do u have a link?
I was huntig a slim case. And I mean slim like ultra super so I looked at skins and remembered that I had a roll of vinyl veneer lying around.
It is protective, not adding any bulk at all and looks quite good according to all who sees it.
Had a quickviewcase but its like dragging around a flappy brick and it´s not preserving the slim design of the phone.
The veneer is not lasercut with precision (used a sharp blade and a hairdryer) and it is a first attempt with what I had at home.
I cannot add links to pics
I use Poetic Palette. Real slim.First time holding it. Its so smooth, could slide of my hand, but overtime is good. I guess, i got used to it.:fingers-crossed:

The slim armor doesn't add much, but it is noticeable. I recently purchased the diztronic and while it is very slim, it's a complete POS. It doesn't even fit the phone properly, I can literally jiggle the phone around inside of the diztronic.
I like the Speck Candyshell. It's a little pricey but it fits great, has a nice low profile and makes the phone feel protected. I'm also rockin the Cruzerlite Bugdroid case. It's very low profile & fits like a glove.

I would recommend to have a look at the Cruzerlite Bugdroid Case. It protects the phone fantastic and and has a nice grip to hold the phone. Also there is a nice Android art at the back of the case.
Phone with that case doesn't look too bulky at all. For me it looks slim enough.

I am actually considering that too now.
I just ordered a bumper - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261363558729?var=560265202779&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Now I'm looking at the cruizerlite , this one and this one
The cruizerlite is a safe bet I guess. What do you think about color - I have a white G2, so maybe the clear case will be the best.
Oh, and one more thing - I have the D802, but don't know what the differences are between sprint/t-mobile, AT&T and D802. I understand that Verizon version is completely different, but how about the others. What model sold in the US us similar to my D802

The only one that is different is the verizon version the rest are about identical with the exception of maybe the thickness but its so minuscule that you will never notice it
So the Cruzerlite it is

Hey guys, just one final question - has anyone got the white one and can you confirm if it pick up the paint of whateve jeans pocket you put it in? I'm between the Teal and white color so please, any help will be appreciated.
I'm looking for recommendations on soft/rubbery cases with a minimal build. I found a few online but no reviews yet and I really need a case with a good grip. Hard, poly carbonate cases were too slick for me and didn't feel good in the hand. I had a good rubber case for my G2 a couple years back but I can't remember the brand. Thanks in advance.
*edit: Wouldn't mind a gel case either if on par with a rubbery case's grip.

beautiful case. Do you know of a similar one that fits the leather back?
Spigen has some nice TPU cases, if that's what you're asking for. They SAY that it doesn't fit leather backs, but some on the forums here have tried those cases and it seems to be fine.

There is no "best case". The best case is the one YOU like. You might want to look in the accessories section theres a ton of threads already http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/accessories
That case is great. I got a spigen crystal clear slim case. Before phones were even officially announced. Fits over leather. And you can still see it.
Checked other forums but didn't see the Accessories forum, my bad. Thanks both!!
Ive got the cruzerlite in black and i love it...Had it on a few other phones as well and i love the design and tight fit. Not sure if it works with the leather version tho

Caseology Envoy Series here
I don't usually keep a case on but felt the need to since I have no warranty nor can get insurance.
I have the black plastic back G4 BTW. It's sturdy, not heavy and believe it will protect from a drop. Fits my tempered glass screen protector. Leather feels premium, hopefully it lasts lol. Raised front lip is minimal and is a soft rubber, to hold in place when face down I guess?
I was gonna get the carbon fiber one but this red looked too much fun, like iron man lol

That's the case I have for my G4. Doesn't add much bulk and the back has a nice texture that adds some grip. I posted some pics of it on my G4 here on imgur.

I have yet to encounter this issue so I can't say there's a trick to removing. I usually just start pulling it off from one of the corners and working my way to the next corner. Are you using a leather back?

I have the Spigen case that the OP linked to. Great case. Most Spigen's are. The only drawback to that case is that it takes the sexy back of the G4 and just makes it black. I currently have this one on my phone.

Looks and protects great but the hole for the buttons on the back is pretty deep so you really have to press your finger in there to get to the buttons.
Incipio DualPro here. Had one on my G2, figured just stick with the same here.
I just picked up a Case-Mate Naked Tough for my leather backed T-Mobile version. It seems durable and I like that it is transparent.

it is high end leather , but maybe expensive to you
