Active and Samsung QI charger - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

I just received a Samsung qi wireless charger. It turns blue while charging the phone but never turns green when fully charged. I do have a case on the phone but since it is charging I don't think it is a case issue. Anyone else try the Samsung charger and does it turn green when charged 100% on the gs6 Active?
Also when I remove the phone from the charger the base stays lit blue and the only way to get it to turn off is to put the phone back on it for a second.

I have the same issue with the charger. I have never seen it turn green ... idk it was supposed to turn green until i read this thread.

Thanks for the info. At least I know it isn't an issue with my charger then. Not sure why it doesn't turn green. Even on the box it says it works with the Active.

I have seen it turn green when it is 100% but the charger does stop charging when it's full so I don't know how long it will stay lit up. I wake up and my Active will always be above 90% charged (usually between 94-98%). I think it cycles off and the battery discharges until 90% and then it kicks back on. I was hoping it would keep the device charged at 100% but given the awesome battery life, it isn't much of a deal breaker.

Mine does NOT do that. I've watched it from 90-100% and the charger itself never turns green. It is always blue.

I still can't figure this out. Do you need NFC on or something else enabled? I tried samsung chat support and they were no help, have to contact accessory support tomorrow.
I've tried with NFC on or off. I've tried with or without the case. I've tried with the phone LED enabled or disabled. So far it never turns green.

Have you tried without the case? The charging might work with the case on, but perhaps it works slightly differently (faster, perhaps communicates) without a case.

I already said that.

My nfc was on when I took that picture but I don't think it's required. When you bought your qi charger, did it come with the wall adapter and cord?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using XDA Free mobile app

yes i'm using the supplied cord and wall adapter. it is a quick charge wall adapter as well.
i called samsung and got transferred around and they are going to 'research it' and call me back. OMG, for a charger i got for $25 I should toss it. Since I got it on sale from ATT and they had to ship it to me because the stores don't carry them I can't take it back and get another one. what a pita.

The wall charger in mine was not a quick charge, charger. It is the standard one. Are you sure you're using the one that came with it? Just trying to help you weed out the possible issues.

Yep I noticed that in your pic. Mine is a white cord quick charger that came in the package. It looks identical to the one that came with my s6 active. It is labeled adaptive fast charging.
I didn't switch them. I took it out of the package and plugged it in. It is what came with the base.
I don't have a normal slow charger to try.

Since mine didn't come with a normal charger, only quick charger, can you try using your quick charger in your QI base and see if it makes a difference or not?

I bought my Samsung Charger from Best Buy (had them match Amazon's price) and it came with the puck, cord and wall adapter. I'm wondering if yours is a genuine Samsung product.
I'll try it out when I have a chance and let you know.

I ordered directly from att. It shipped to my house in a retail package. It came with the same stuff. It wouldnt be fake. Give yours a try with the quick charge cord when you get a chance and let me know.

Tested it this morning and it lit up green when I had the adaptive charger plugged into the puck.
When you plug in the puck, does it light up different colors at first?

Yes it looks like it cycles through a dark blue, light blue, and green but not sure of the order.

Battery too low to power on

I have a nook color 1.1 autonootered with I think autonooter 3.0. I left it sleeping for a few days. I know get a message telling me that the battery is too low to power on. Please wait 15 minutes and try again.
Well its been plugged in for over 2 hours now using the wall charger and I'm still getting this message. I tried searching for this issue but I didn't find anything usefull. (I haven't mastered getting a relevant search using the xda app)
Any help in fixing this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you using the charger that came with the Nook? If so did the nook led on the cord light up?
I am having battery problems aswell. I have read several other posts about people having battery issues. When i plug my nook in it charges, however when the screen turns off it stops charging it. The only way for me to charge it is to keep my screen on always... devs could you all confirm it is a software issue?

I'm at work currently all I have on me is my phone charger. I will have to try the charger it came with when I get home. I honestly just wish the screen would stay black. It seems kinda counter productive that the screen is on nonstop telling me the battery is to low. Lol. I really hope it isn't bricked.
Has anyone heard of bricking these in this way?

The Nook charger is the only one that charged mine. I tried a kindle charger and and my phone charger and they didn't work.
Thanks for the info. Even though I'm not happy about having to have another charger laying around I really hope this is the problem. I will post back when I can get it plugged into the correct charger to let ya know if it worked.

I plugged it into the computer using a usb cable. That did the trick! Booted up after about 5 minutes. Blahhh looks like I am going to have to buy a batman utility belt for all these chargers and cords I'm going to have to have.

WHAT? Just use the Nook Charger and cable, PERIOD. Anything else will only charge at .5A vs the 1.9A the NC charger puts out.
This is why it took a long time... It may charge 5%/hr on a .5A connection where it charges at 25%/hr or so on the NC charger.
I'm having the same issue. I plugged it into my note 2 charger which is 2.0A 5V charger... Been 30 minutes and nothing...

Even though you are using a different 2 amp charging block, it will not charge fast without the BN Nook cable. It has an extended micro USB connector with additional power pins to deliver the full 2 amps to charge the NC. Non Nook cables will only charge at 0.5 amps max.

Why can't I get a 100% charge?

When I charge my phone it reaches 99% and it remains there it never reaches a 100% charge.
And my led notification is always red never goes green.
Did anybody else notice this?

Maybe you are using 3rd party application like Battery Motifier in which the settings of battery full is only set to 99%. I am using this application for charging my phone then this app notifies me once it was fully charge using a sound notification. Try to check your applications installed to your phone maube you have same kind of application or the likes... hopefully it helps

I had to get an exchange for my first handset. It had major gaps, and battery never fully charged.
It seems it was due to a dodgy battery. Even if the phone was left on charge for 10 hours it still wouldn't fully charge, turned on or off.
If it gets really hot while trying to charge after 98% it may be the same thing, and you should possibly ask for an exchange, or get it checked out.

How do you know the battery is at fault?
Sent from a pizza..
Why not let the phone discharge until it shuts off, then try to completely charge it from empty. I had an atrix once that would only charge to 99 after most Rom installs until I did this. Always figured it was a battery calibration thing.
Interesting fact, Lithium-ion polymer batteries do not charge to 100% capacity by design. They are actually quite difficult to charge correctly (in the electrical engineering sense, it's still plug and charge for the end user) and it is not worth the additional hassle to get to a "true" full charge. What the phone reports as 100% is only 2-3% off of the theoretical max capacity so in practice the difference is not noticeable.
It's hard to say if this effect is whats responsible for what you're seeing, but it could be related. Another possibility is that you simply haven't let it trickle charge long enough to report 100%. The last few % charge of any phone battery is going to go at a much slower rate compared to 20-90% for example. Really the only thing you can do is the somewhat standard advice to get a full discharge/charge cycle in to let android re-calibrate itself.
this is normal, it eventually does it,m dont worry about it
sometimes if i use the phone whilst its on charge it turns green
im not bothered, 99% is good enough for me it trickles down at the end really slowly
even 95% is good enough i usually unplug it at 95
I had the same thing when I got my phone, I was using a cheapo micro usb charger that did not have the beans to charge the one.. it got to 99% always.
Switched to proper one with phone and voila green light & 100%
For the record an iPad 3 (aka "new" iPad) charger works if you swap the USB cable also.
I am using the charger that came with the phone, and it has been an hour on 99%, any advice? To the ones who reached the 100% mark, how long did you leave it at 99%?
Happened to me too, with stock charger.
Finally got it to completely charge. I let it discharge to 2 percent than charged it with the touchpad charger. Most probably the first step isn't required. The charger outputs 2A. Will try other chargers including pc usb..

Let me know how it works ok... Seems like maybe its a stock charger issue...or maybe i just need to let it discharge to less than 2% most i ever let it down to was 9%...keep me updated please...
i had that problem on my s2 with some custom roms. it would charge to 100% if i unplugged it rebooted and plugged it back in. also it went away after 1 or 2 battery cycles
Reboot device when at 98/99%, then it will show 100% for some reason.

I let my battery run dry and now phone won't charge.

So my phone turned off from being out of battery and now it won't charge. I was able to power it up again for a few minutes and it was not charging and there was some error that said something like "Phone won't charge, please use stock charger". What do?
Update: I charged it overnight while off and it was able to charge back to 100%. However, it is still unable to charge while it is on or off (for a short amount of time plugged in at least). Not sure if letting it sit for hours like when I charged it overnight would work.
bump
Just keep it plugged to the charger. Some time when the battery is really dead, it takes a while for it to get charge and turn on the device. Try it. If it still doesn't work, send it in.

Charging issues

So I had this with my original g6 that was replaced due to also dropping signal randomly. Now the replacement is doing it too.
What is happening is that overnight while on the charger it will either stop charging or super slow charge. After being on the charger for 6.5 to 7 hours last night my phone had only charged from 40% to 85%. Has anyone else seen this issue? Phone reports that it's fast charging, and has done this with 2 different chargers and cables.

After 6+ hours, mine would be fully charged and I am using a wireless charger. Perhaps an app is using up resources? Have you tried plugging it in and then completely turning the phone off to see how long it takes? (Note, if you turn it off first, it will just turn back on when you plug in the charger.
I think it might have been a random application, I removed a number of unused apps, including Ampere and have not had the issue in the last week.
