[Q] No os installed and no RUU can be found, please help - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i tried to use some custom Rom, and i follow the instruction of how to unlock and flash custom Recovery, it was all good until I accidently wiped everything on my phone including the system, now it stuck in the bootleader and TWRP. The thing is when I tried to get back to stock, there is no such RUU available, it should be RUU 7.21.980.22 by vodafone australia. I really did my research the whole day and tried to sideload the latest Revolution HD 9.2 ROM, but it failed. Please, is there anyone could save me out of this. Many thanks.

What is your TWRP version?
What is your adb version?
Are you talking about ARHD 92.2? 9.2 is a typo?

Problem solved
First of all, thanks a lot for the reply from @alray.
My problem was solved by installing the updated driver of HTC one m7 on the computer, so the computer can recognize the virtual SD card. Then i could put the ARHD 92.0 into my phone, and simply flash it using TWRP recovery. About 24 hours research, it was so anxious and frustrated, but after going through all of this, i could say that the chance of brick the phone is really negligible, because there are so many people sharing their ideas and solutions. Thanks to all of you.
By the way, my TWRP version is 2.8.5.0

Help unrooting Legend from 2.2.

Hi,
I'm wondering if there's any proper way to unroot and put Legend to factory state again.
I have latest nightly cyanogen now.
I've tried several things (htc ruu install, flashing with stock rom, flashing with indigo bean, etc.) but every and each one of them finished with nothing - phone with question mark is shown and then it reboots.
So, none of this works. The next thing I want to try is to flash with modaco's custom rom via their instructions - maybe this will work? Is it any good idea?
I just start to wonder if I can break something by trying this stuff over and over.
Any tips?

I assume you'll have to flash to a rom such as modaco's. Well any rom that still has all the HTC sync and tethering rubbish still on it. As this is used to detect the phone when you run the ruu .exe files to flash back to stock.
Can anyone back me up on that? Also shouldn't this thread be in general?
Try this tutorial

I am not sure if it works, but give it a try. Hope it helps.
I'll write you a guide for the easiest way to unroot very shortly..

[Q] Please help me with a brick =)

Basically situation is as follows - I have a phone that bricked after FOTA. I can't flash any RUUs since the version inside is higher. Jtag does not help, after full erase and rebuild of literally everything the phone remains a brick and still wants a firmware version higher than I can give it.
A few things I would like to ask. How do I flash OTA update to this phone?
I can install CWM thus have adb, I do have fastboot, I can change CID (at the moment i ve made it 11111111) I can make S-OFF.
How to perform a clean install of a custom rom only?
I am sure it is a SW brick since I managed to run it after install of a custom rom. BUT I decided to flash stock after that, and I can't repeat procedure. Any help and suggestions are apreciated. Anything will be helpfull.
Download the ROM you want, go into your Recovery and wipe Cache, Data, Davlik Cache (and SDcard if you want to) and then mount the storage via recovery and simply copy the .zip to your SDcard and install it after unmounting it.
Of course know how to flash roms from CWM))).
Sv: [Q] Please help me with a brick =)
Try s-off your phone then install a ruu.exe file that fits your cid.

I did that. It seems there is a problem since the phone once was 2.33 version but the latest ruu I can find is 2.31. I managed somehow flash it 2.31, but that is about it.
I am going to try to flash custom from your signature, and make the phone s-off, again...
Well it must be some strange HW error, since software wise I ve done literally everything.

[Q] Unable to flash custom roms after complete wipe

I'm having problems with custom roms. I came from O.M.J version 1.4. Everything was fine and then I decided to format everything with CWM by Philz http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860. Attempted to adb push the Android Revolution HD v10 rom, but it threw an error out. So I side loaded it instead. After the install was complete I find it only boots to fastboot mode because my recovery is now gone and there's no OS. After lots of googling I learn to use fastboot command, flash a few recoveries, and end up back on TWRP to load my nandroid backup. Even with my nandroid the phone would not boot past a few seconds into the OD. Only way the phone works is if I run the stock RUU. Somehow it only works with stock RUU because if I go back to anything else the phone won't connect to the sprint network. I only get so far into the setup and it goes thru boot loop. I attempted to relock/unroot and go thru the whole steps again to flash a custom rom and I'm stumped.
To top it all off I end up posting in General instead of the Q&A. It's been a long night sorry.
fixed my problem by flashing from the oldest ruu. that let me flash my nandroid backup and have it running.
Just so you know, Android Rev. 10 doesnt support Sprint yet. Which carrier did you choose on the install?

International. I was kinda suspicious about it, but they had posted sprint compatibility first post. Mostly because of this misleading post FAQs
6. Can I flash this ROM on my T-Mobile / AT&T / Rogers... variant?
Yes, you can. The ROM will work on all the variants except Sprint, as it has some significant differences. Sprint is supported since version 9.4.

Anyway if someone happens to install the international roms. In order for me to return to the previous custom roms I had to flash Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_1.29.651.7_RUU then flash the custom rom O.M.J v1.4 or like me do my Nandroid backup in which both were 1.29.651.7 based. The biggest problem I had was after installing the International roms I lost my recovery. A simple "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" with the recovery.img of choice worked out for me.

[Q] HTC One (64GB Dev Edtn) keeps crashing even after flashing new roms

To start off, I'll write down a history of my phone's problem. It had me scratching my head for over 1 week already and I still can't resolve it. I've been non-stop searching all over the net for solutions, and unfortunately it's still problematic.
Before the problems started, this is the state of my phone:
Stock HTC Rom 4.1.2 ver. 1.29.1540.3, rooted, custom recovery TWRP.
My phone initially hanged after receiving a text message. So I thought it just crashed and just needs a simple reboot. But unfortunately, after a reboot, it was just stuck at the "HTC quietly brilliant" splashscreen. But it could go into bootloader. So I went into recovery to restore from a backup point. But the restoring process failed, and worse, it wiped my current OS off.
So I went over the net to search for a copy of the stock HTC rom. then I found the specific RUU, from bugsylawson's, for my phone. And, at last I thought, the phone was back to normal. But unfortunately again, when I tried to re-download all my apps from google play store, after installing a few apps, my phone crashed again. the crash would reboot and enter into the OS but after a few seconds, it would hang again and reboot until it doesn't get into the OS anymore.
I went further research and studying about android terminologies to better understand the state and problem of my phone, and I came up with the idea to try to install a famous and stable custom Rom. I chose Android Revolution HD 13.3, which runs a custom 4.2.2 jelly bean. After successfully flashing the rom, I was so happy that everything went back to normalcy. So again I tried to reinstall the apps from play store. and everything worked fine. then after about approx. 18hrs, the problems started to show up again. My phone would hang while I was using it. And it would restart. sometimes it would just force close an app that i was using (in this case, I was using the "Internet" app and camera app). And after rebooting by itself a couple more times, it would get stuck in the "HTC quietly brilliant" splashscreen. again.
I tried several times to re-flash the custom Rom, and it would flash successfully everytime. And just to make sure i did the correct steps before flashing a new rom, I would like to enumerate what I did:
-wiped data, system, cache and dalvik cache partitions
-flashed custom rom via TWRP.
After everything I've tried. I'm starting to wonder if my phone has factory defects. I'm pointing to three parts of the hardware: processor, flash drive or cache. I'm wondering if the cache is a hardware or software based, and if it is a hardware, could it possibly be damaged physically and can't be repaired? How do I checkdisk the flash drive to make sure that i don't have bad sectors in it? How could i also try a diagnostic test of the processor to make sure that it is not faulty and does not overheat?
I'm new to android debugging. I would gladly take any logical solutions to help solve my problem. I'm pinning my hope on this forum before I finally contact HTC to claim a warranty or anything.

Hi Matt,
First of all, thanks for the very quick reply.
Uhn matt, I don't mean to annoy you with questions. But are there any other solutions without S-offing my device? And if possible and if it's not a hassle for you, may I ask what your possible might be? (Could you please enumerate it?)
I would greatly appreciate it if we could discuss the procedures first before actually trying to fix the issue.
You'll need to S-Off to flash the 4.3 firmware, and you want to be S-Off now as you can't use the exploit on the newer hboots. I will S-Off, flash 4.2.2 firmware, flash 4.3 firmware, then flash 4.3 Sense stock rom, then you can s-on if you want

I see. How is the new Hboot different from the old hboot? And if anything goes wrong, could I still go back to the old hboot?
To what firmware version is it going to be upgraded to? Will it have the same radio?
Just to clarify, we're CHANGING firmware version, not UPGRADING right? Is it because we're changing to different region's firmware so that i could just download an OTA update of newer stock roms? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Stock Roms

Hi,
I recently made the mistake of wiping my system partition trying to just do a factory reset. I was running a stock rooted 4.4.2 rom and TWRP recovery.
I've tried the latest RUU from HTC but it says it can't find my phone. Using the generic FUU and a 1.54.651.8 (the same version I was previously running) zip I found looks like it's starting to work - it finds the phone and everything but seems to be stuck forever on "Updating (0/7) Sending...."
I was able to get a custom rom installed, but some things weren't working quite right (couldn't send texts, kept making a weird sound, and a couple others) so I was hoping for a stock rom - rooted or not, I'm fine either way.
The bad news is that the old threads with the stock rom of that version seem to have broken links so I can't get them that way. I tried contacting a couple of people who posted them but they didn't hang on to them either.
Unfortunately, the SD reader on this phone has broken so I can't get to my old backup from before I originally rooted way back when. So what I had to do to install the custom rom was boot into TWRP Recovery, ADB push the .zip over to /tmp and flash it from there. Which seems to work fine as far as that goes, I just need a stock rom (or nandroid backup, I suppose) that is compatible with my firmware since the RUUs don't seem to want to cooperate.
As an alternative, is there a way of pulling just the rom out of that 1.54.651.8 RUU I have in some format that would be flashable under TWRP Recovery?
I know it's an older phone and I'm on an old firmware (once I was rooted I never wanted to do any updates for fear of breaking something), but any help would be greatly appreciated since all the links I can find seem to be outdated/dead.
