[Q] Updating Baseband & Bootloader Clarification - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, I'm a new user of the Note 4, just came to it from the S6, and I'm loving it so far. However, I'm an AOSP junkie and am currently building my phone to be my DD with it. Therefore, I'm trying to get Bioshock's kernel on my SlimLP build, but it bootloops, I'm assuming because my baseband and bootloader aren't on the latest version. I looked up some guides on how to update them but they're not exactly practical in terms of explicitness. Could a kind soul post comprehensive steps on how to upgrade to the latest baseband/bootloader while still keeping my SlimLP build? Thanks in advance for your patience.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi clean ROM?

Hi guys,
I got recently a Tab 10.1 GT-P7510 from BestBuy and performed a firmware update.
It added an insane amount of bloatware, as well everything on the design was changed. In short, I really hate what Samsung did.
I was wondering if you can recommend a good ROM that I can flash it with Odin... something that sticks with stock Android 3.1 version.
Kernel version: 2.6.36.3 [email protected] #1
Build number: HMJ37.UEKME P7510UEKME
I'm not familiar with the ROM's updates... that is why I would rather ask here first, before bricking the tablet. Thanks a lot for your help.
Edit: Wrong forum, can you please move the thread to Tab 10.1 Q/A?
I just got mine yesterday from Best Buys and directly installed task650 rom.
if u want to take a look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227800

[Q] Best custom firmware and help with rooting

Hi, sadly I'm a noob and I currently have a samsung galaxy n7000 UK based. I've attached a print screen on the information about my phone.
Previously, I was on the ICS firmware and since the uk version of the JB wasn't released, I updated my phone via Odin to the chinese version of the 4.1.2 JB. Then recently my phone said there was an update for my phone which was in fact the uk version of the JB.
Ever since, my phone is running quite slow and I have formatted it to see if it made a difference. The difference is slight.
Now I've decided I want to install a custom rom as I heard some of them would make my phone perform smoother, faster and also more battery-friendly.
Can someone give me a recommendation on which custom rom I should choose and give me a link that gives me instructions on how to root my specific firmware as I can't find any that mention XXLT3.
Please help?

We don't do best rom threads on xda, it's just a case of try them all til you're happy.
As for rooting, you may have to downgrade your rom to one that has a phillz kernel for it.

SM-T800 on CM 12.1, Build Date May 2016 - Want to upgrade

Hey all,
I hadn't used my Tab S in a while since the battery was shot and I mostly forgot about it; I've since replaced the battery, and want to give it another whirl. I've been out of the scene for a while, as will be evidenced by the following build information:
CM Version 12.1-20160529-Nightly-chagallwifi
Android Version 5.1.1
Kernel Version 3.4.105-g766de8b
I want to upgrade to something newer, but I'm not sure if I can simply flash a new ROM over such an old build - or if I'm just overthinking things, and that's exactly what I would do.
Also looking for recommendations on what people think might be a good upgrade.
Thanks.

Needing Help With Current Method Of Downgrading G870A From 6.0.1 to 4.4.4

Hey everyone! After lurking for weeks and doing updates I signed up to give props and dig a little deeper....
I started with a G870A running 4.4.2 NG3 and needed to enable VoLTE, following r0ckarongs effortless tutorial I updated to 6.0.1 QD1 through the individual updates.
[EOL][G870A][MM][6.0.1] All Firmware Updates (latest QD1) (Updated 20/04/2018)[EOL]
Here you can find the update files for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (G870A) from AT&T General Remarks (Important): This does NOT work for S5 Actives from Verizon. These updates WILL REMOVE ALL your data. Make a backup with Smart Switch first...

Unfortunately, I read numerous reviews of KK vs LP, KK vs MM, LP vs MM and thought 6.0.1 would be the way to go......and I looooathe it!
Has anyone developed a smooth method of downgrading from the 6.0.1 version back to 4.4.2 or 4.4.4?
Tips on AT&Ts bloatware removal would also be helpful....
Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!
I don't think it's possible as ATT and Verizon locked the bootloader for their S5's effectively making it impossible or difficult to downgrade
42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide
#1.1. Think that everyone's Samsung Galaxy S5 is the same as yours... Think again! There are currently 42 models of the Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. Most of which are covered in this General Galaxy S5 forum. Some of these models have already had as many as 24 different stock Samsung firmware...

That's what I'd found as well, along with a few that claimed success using numerous programs to start fresh - no confirmation on the accuracy of that though.
With the PH3 (6.0.1) update came a stock image containing the 6.0.1 bootloader, essentially making any previous device identical to one with factory installed MM.
I was thinking a stock image of KK 4.4.2 would function the same as the PH3 update by reverting the bootloader and OS, I can do most anything with a pc but Android's a new animal....so, I'm likely incorrect and have no idea wth I'm talking about. lol
Having tweaked and swapped a lot of pc software and OS I figure it may work since the older version OS would still match the original hardware - maybe someone will chime in that's tried it or has a copy of the KK factory image I can try installing. I actually have a NITB G870A....but haven't the faintest clue how to get a copy of the factory image off of it......
I appreciate the input Brother, thanks for the response!
