So, any suggestions for a replacement? Microsoft's MyPhone is OK, but it doesn't give me the ability to view and respond to SMS messages via my computer like Dashwire.
Sucks, sucks, sucks.

Shame, Dashwire was pretty slick. myPhone is probably the best alternative now, though.
Well, actually, I'd say that the best alternative (and what I do) is to use Exchange to back up all your calendar / contacts info (I use Google Sync) and use MS Live Mesh to back up documents and photos.
Still no desktop SMS support, but I use Google Voice to handle that...
Google Voice
What does Google Voice do for your SMS messages? I'm not familiar with it.
Thanks!

It does nothing for SMS sent to your regular cell number, but you can send and receive SMS messages from a Google Voice number. These messages can be forwarded to your phone or email, and you can send outgoing messages through the GV number using various apps or a web interface.
I don't have a text plan, so I don't use SMS a lot. The Google Voice workaround is enough if I just want to get ahold of somebody, but it wouldn't be a good solution for a heavy texter until somebody figures out how to make it work more "natively" with WM phones.

Flexilis Mobile Security seems interesting enough, though it doesnt cover your needs for remote SMS sending and receiving.
You can learn more about it at: https://beta.flexilis.com/
Hey guys, I fell in love with FB Messenger's SMS integration for the chat heads. I was able to use them on the ICS ROM's fine for both sending messages and receiving them, but on the stock GB software I cannot successfully send SMS messages through Facebook Messenger, only receive them.
The Motorola SMS app works fine in both directions.
Anyone else suffer from this?

I'm using null rom....is there any app or something to reply whatsapp messages...I have one installed but only works with text messages
I think I already know the answer to this question but can't find it anywhere. Yes I know Moto voice assist will work with Google hangouts sending sms messages. What I want to know is if it can reply using hangouts and not through an sms. I almost exclusively use hangouts and only sms 1 person I know. Can the touchless controls reply directly using hangouts?
Yes, I have replied to multiple different texts sent through hangouts.
No it can't reply to hangouts messages, only SMS.
Thanks nimper. Thats what I thought
After updating (sideloaded) 5.1.1 I can't answer by voice in hangout app and in WhatsApp. Can anyone verify this?
Any ideas?
Thanks
