[Q] Unlocked AT&T S6 Edge on T-mobile - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Hey what's up guys I'm using a 64 gig unlocked AT&T S6 edge on the T-mobile network. I'm having the troubles of only getting 2g connection at best. I been on the phone with T-Mobile and AT&T to figure out why I get such slow speeds. My APN is correct, but the network settings won't let me select LTE/WCDMA/GSM on my phone. AT&T tech support told me to come to this forum and upload T-mobile firmware to the phone so it will pick up the frequencies I need to hit 4g speeds etc. on the T-mobile network. Has anyone had to do this before? If that is what I have to do does anyone have instructions on how to do it and where to get the firmware I need? Thank you!

[Q] getting ATT 3G to work on US TMobile Tab

I have a US T-mobile Galaxy Tab which was officially unlocked by T-Mobile.
I took a data plan with ATT, but I am only getting Edge, no 3G
Doing some research I read that T-Mobile uses a different 3G than ATT therefore the issue I guess.
My question: Is there a way to configure the T-Mobile Tab so that it can Connect to ATT 3G or is there a Hardware impossibility?
Apreciate the help

Hardware limited, unfortunately. T-Mobile uses 1700mhz, whereas AT&T uses 850mhz and 1900mhz for 3G

Thanks, its a bummer as their data plans are more interesting for me ...
May be if they merge they will straighten things out in the plans. One can dream
Look in the dev section, rotohammer has a modem switcher, which gives 2G+voice or just 3G alone.
There is a bounty searching for a cook to work on the modem.bin for us, but no takers.
Look at the Dev section or get an ATT Mobile Hotspot and share the conection thru wi-fi to the tab, the only bad side of doing that is that you can't use Gps navegation
Thanks all.
Dont realy want to go the custom rom yet as I may not keep the tab (waiting for newer models).
So I'll see how good or bad it is on ATT Edge, and switch to Tmobile 3G if it is really bad.

I thought that the SGT used software defined radio (baseband) for it's cellular modem and therefor isn't it possible to flash the at&t modem.bin onto the SGT and take advantage of at&t's 3g services (with the appropriate frequencies)?

nope, which is why I thought the AT&T Gtab to be the most desireable, as it can do AT&T 3G plans, but also take advantage of Tmo's $1.49/day DayPass (EDGE only). The Tmo Gtab cannot use the DayPass (Tmo has locked it out).

[Q] Flashing different modem

Hi guys just a quick question.
I have a Telstra SGT from Australia and I'm currently travelling around the US and want to buy a T mobile sim to use the 4g network while I'm here. I would like to flash the T Mobile modem during the overcome flashing process but I'm just wondering if this is possible or if it will cause any problems for my tab?
You will only get 2g/EDGE at best. The tab is only a 3g radio. Your tab won't be able to get 3g though because your tab is not comatible with t-mobile 1700/2100 bands.
You can buy an at&t sim and get 3g and voice.

Thanks so much for your help rangercaptain. I was unsure about the tab's bands and was hoping it was the same as the T Mobile ones. Oh well, I guess I'll just stick with AT&T. Thanks again for your kind assistance!

[Q] Unlocked galaxy note on Cincinnati Bell apn issues

Hi all, I am having trouble getting my unlocked note that I bought from amazon working on my Cincinnati bell network. I have voice but after searching the internet I tried a few different apn settings but can only seem to get the 2g edge network and not 3g let alone 4g. Any help would be greatly appreciated
i believe 2g is all you will get. cincinnati bell runs 1700/2100 3/4g and your note uses 850/1900. same problem as tmobile usa except the few western states using the 1900 for 3/4g.....
Jesus, how can a country that influent be so totally retarded when it comes to getting a mobile phone to work across the entire country? There's like a million standards and not even the same within a single operator. Get with the times - heard about GSM/WCDMA you know that the rest of the entire would uses?

Thanks, I heard T-Mobile runs the same network as Cincinnati Bell, would their galaxy s II work then?
tmous branded "should" work.. uses the same freq...
You can get more than 2G. CB has their own 3G network but you have to go to the store and upgrade your SIM card

That does not seem to be the point here... The point is that it seems Cincinnati Bell uses frequencies that are NOT compatible with the N7000 being the 1700/2100 band as opposed to the 850/1900 band that the N7000 uses.

AT&T Tab gives only Edge on TMobile?

Flashed my galaxy tab with CM9 and it is running great so far. Had SIM unlocked it long ago. Originally got it from AT&T, now on TMo Network I am getting barely Edge...on AT&T it says 3G/H and gives around 2MBPS...anyway to get it to give better throughput on Tmobile network? From what I read, there seem to be differences at the hardware level and just flashing a Tmobile modem wont help??

I have just found out that if you have a ATT phone and use Tmobile Sim you only get 4g lte, I have been asking about it but havent really gotten a answer, Havent really noticed any problems in the past though, I get good download speeds and upload, But havent tried it really in a area where no 4g is available. IDK
