I am trying to root my galaxy s5 but I'm in training and have no access to a computer anyway to root with out computer galaxy sm 900A
Sorry
Currently there is no easy way to root without a computer. If you have updated to Android 4.4.4 then you are going to have some troubles. The towelroot app by Geohot used to work, but ever since Android 4.4.4 and possibly some earlier versions, the kernel has been rebuilt, and towelroot cannot work. If you really want it badly I'd search on how to install an older firmware. Then once it's installed, you towelroot.
Hello,
I have a samsung galxay s 5 running on android 4.4.2. its model number is samsung-sm-g900a. I rooted it 6 months ago but decided to unroot it when the lollipop update came out, so i would be able to get the update. I used odin and downloaded the samsung galaxy s5 stock. I have tried twice to unroot my phone but after i go through the process and download root checker on the play store, i find that my device is still rooted. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The downgrade to nce file should work fine, ive used it multiple times and been unrooted. You can load the lollipop update prerooted thlugh if you want to do it that way, which a guide for is in general.

I'm running the pre-rooted lollipop on an at&t S5 and works very well. If you unroot and get the official OTA update, you'll be stuck unrooted until someone finds a way to root again.
If you use the pre-rooted file you can go back to KitKat if you don't like the new Lollipop.
Hello!
Is there a way to update your device through the official updates of Samsung to the newest updaate?
I rooted my phone using the "Root Samsung Galaxy S5 mini SM-G800F using Odin" guide on AndroidMTK. (Search it on google, first link it is probably) but now it says even after unrooting that I have modified files on my phone and making it unable to root.
I want to download the OTA Updates because it contains Android 5.0, doesn't matter if I have to unroot because I don't like my rooted device anyway.
Is there any way?
Please help.

I found that the device will update OTA regardless of root. Root is broken after the update, but that's all.
The message about having a modified system only appears when no update is available. If there is an update, it will start downloading and install.
Others may be able to confirm/deny this behaviour, but that's how it worked for me.
One of them is Rooted. 4.2.2 , MF3. No custom rom. xposed is working nicely. Only problem... cannot run Pokemon Go. Needs to be 5.0.1 or higher to run Pokemon Go.
Second. Stock 5.0.1. No root, nothing. absolutely no customization. Runs Pokemon Go. But I have no idea how to root from 5.0.1
Someone please. Any ideas on how to get either the first one updated with root or the second one rooted with xposed framework.
This is literally the thread right above yours.

Read the stickies!
Samsung s4 active
I also have a rooted s4 active and having trouble with installing framework. I keep getting stuck in Odin mode downloading.
Thanks
To answer your question.
You can root your phone using kingroot for 5.0.1 it will work fine, I have no other ideas how to root a device since I don't have a laptop or computer.
On another note, my galaxy S4 active is also stuck on Odin mode downloading.. Is this because the bootloader (whatever that is) is locked? My phone is through AT&T.
Disclaimer: I am not an expert in this field by any means and am just figuring a lot of this out for the first time. I need some help but will appreciate your patience! : )
I recently completed the Step by step tutorial to upgrade my ATT Galaxy Note 3 to Lollipop and Root it, provided here: droidviews.com/update-att-note-3-with-lollipop-ota-and-root-it
Everything seems to have worked out, despite a few errors on my behalf (forgot to back up and boot loop forced me to factory reset and start over. Oops), but now I'm stuck trying to figure out how to get Xposed Framework installed. Since I'm now upgraded to Lollipop, I no longer have access to Safestrap, so I tried to install the Xposed Framework in the stock recovery, which failed. Also, I did confirm that I have Root.
Everything I've read states I need to use custom recovery, such as TWRP, but I can't find a way to install it on my device.
Can somebody please help me out here?
Anyone have any idea if Xposed Framework can be installed on Note 3 w/ Lollipop 5.0 using FlashFire?

It can, I've done it before. Worked perfectly.
