Can someone give me a proper steps/instruction on going about doing a clean flash, I figured just running odin would be the right process but I could be wrong. Thank you.

Cool.
Step #1 nandroid backup onto ext sd.
(Check every box)
Step #2 download a copy of whatever rom you gonna flash onto your ext sd.
Step # 3 now for your wipes.
Under advanced youll see
These choices..
System/data/dalvik/cache/internal.
And ext sd..
DO NOT WIPE EXT SD..[emoji16]
So normally you can wipe just...
System/data/dalvik/and cache.
But for a clean flash include the internal.
And all this x3.
Then factory data reset x3..
Note: anything on the internal sd card will be gone.. and cannot be retrieved.
Note:#2 its a good idea to download one other copy of a compatible rom onto your ext sd. Not the same rom.. or check the md5 sum to make sure the rom you downloaded matches the linked sum so theres no problems...
And that my friend is good coverage and the steps for a CLEAN FLASH..
i hope you enjoyed this session i hope it helps.. and happy flashing[emoji16]
Any other questions problems or concerns..

Pretty correct, although wiping data/factory reset isn't always so necessary, but still preferable and you don't have to restart after wiping/factory reset...you can just go back and flash right after!
Also, I would suggest you to do some NAND backups to get back to your old ROM in case you don't like the new one you installed!
So if its not nessasary to wipe/factory why do does it say in each rom thread to wipe?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
1. Download rom, put on root of SDCARD.
2. Boot into recovery.
3. Depending on if your switching around roms, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache
4. back to root of recovery
5. select flash file from zip.
6. select name of rom file
7. reboot when finished

Sometimes you can get away without wiping, but until you get familiar flashing, I would follow this method...

If you don't wipe the phone will run Thermonuclear-War.exe
Worst case is a stall at before the boot animation, most common case a boot loop at the animation.

lawl epic answer xD
Yeah well wiping is optional, but highly recommended (especially if you're new to the stuff as danger-rat said)
I wipe when switching ROMs completely, just to make sure I don't fall on bugs. I only wipe dalvik-cache and cache when updating to a new nightly/update of the same ROM.
Some people change ROMs completely and don't wipe and don't have problems, but meh...I don't want to cause useless conflicts!
You generally don't need to wipe between versions of the same rom.
But if i do the wipe data/factory wouldnt it delete the clockwork and nanodroid backup and ill have to flash clockwork again?

No, as long as you don't wipe sdcard...
Anyways, if that's all that worries you, make a copy on the computer of the whole "nandroid" or "clockworkmod" folder on your computer just in case...

From stock android 3.2 I flashed your ICS from CWM (data wipe, cache wipe, dalvik and battery wipe) and after that I flashed Tweaked Stock 5.0 (posted by SK806).
This was my 2nd try on getting ICS onthe Tab 7.7 (earlier I had bootloop after trying Stock ICS 4.0.4 flash from MobileOdin. Had to use Odin to flash pit and stock 3.2 again).
Your ROM via CWM went flawless.
Looking damn good.

I am a lilltle confused here with your step 2 when you said place on internal SD. Do you mean in the root folder and not in the ext_storage/SdCard?
Regarding CWM, I am currently in v5.0.2.7. Do I need to update to latest CWM?
Would be grateful if you could clarify a bit.
And dang!!! the file size is 508 MB and not 183 MB.
Works great but I can't restore apps sucessfully afterwards with Titanium Backup. All apps restore, but always FC when running them.
Had to flash 4.04 again with mobile odin to get it working. Do you know the cause of this?
Questions answered:
Yes, please place on root of internal SD.
CWM version should not matter at all.
No issue with T/B here on ANY app; try fixing perms or reflashing.

I am not using another kernel, I am using the kernel that is included with CM9 with no addons whatsoever. How can I fix this and most important how can I prevent this happening?! I assume you had done a full wipe before flashing and also after flashing the ROM, If that is the case, just save all your internal SD card contents to PC and also backup your contacts etc to a cloud storage or Ext SD card and Format Internal S card and see how it functions on a clean slate.
Ok I will try that and report back

How? It´s first time i will install a ROM i have root and clockworkmod. And i need to wipe data factory reset. That will not erase everithing on the phone?. If i wipe data how i will install the ROM. Please just do a quick tutorial.
Thanx
Since you are rooted already, copy the ROM to your SD Card go into recovery mode and wipe data wipe partition go into advance mode wipe dalvik cache then come back select install from SD Card the install. You will only loose your apps but your files and media remains. Remember the first you flash it won't be successful cos of changes in partition but don't worry remove battery, go into recovery and flash again and you will be successful.

Pc frezze and if i unmont usb pc works again. What i have to do to fix that? It will be hard if i put backup on pc and if delete my backup on phone. So im afraid on that step. Im not a noob user in pcs and smartphones but its first time i will do that. And the first time is harf.

Factory reset only resets phone settings, it doesn't actually wipe the SD card clean of all files, so feel free to reboot into your current ROM and then transfer the Zip file, then reboot, wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache and Factory Reset
OR, try a different PC or different USB port to mount from within Clockworkmod. Mount USB should work OK.
Thx all. Now i free to test. Close thread please!

Hello,
I recently rooted my phone and flashed it with "PhilZ-cwm6 v5.00.4 with CWM 6.0.3.1 based recovery" and then flashed "Avatar ROM 3.0"
Before flashing ROM, i followed these steps:
1. Select ‘wipe data/factory reset’
2. Subsequently ‘wipe cache partition’
3. wipe dalvick
The installation completed succesfully and after reboot i face following problems:
1. Can't open gallery, camera, theme chooser etc as it says no external memory found.
I have a micro sd card of 2 GB and the internal phone memory is 8GB.
But in the storage i find this:
Internal storage
Total Space: 1.97GB
Available: 1.88GB
Internal Storage
SD Card
Total Space: 1.90 GB
Available: 149MB [As i have songs and other files in the card]
USB Storage
MOUNT SD Card
Insert an SD card for mounting [Cannot click on this option]
Please help as it was my first time that i flashed a ROM.
Flashed new ROM but still the same problem with memory
I tried flashing ParanoidAndroid ROM and then CM ROM but still the phone memory is not detected and hence cannot open gallery, camera....
Please help!!!!
After flashing these roms did you flash gapps?
Cm based roms do not include any Google apps such as play store, or anything, gapps includes these. You need to flash that first, then deal with your memory issue which I don't think you have.

Dear Sir,
I have installed custom ROM SuperNexus 2.0 milestone 1 at my gt-n7000.. I have rooted my cellphone using Philtz 5.0 version with CWM 6.0.3 version..After successful completion of custom Rom, my cellphone is not showing file manager, or my internal and external memory is not detected.
After going to Storage option, it shows Mount your external card, but it not highlighted so unable to click it.
Other thing I want to tell you that before installing above custom ROM, I took the backup of my jelly bean 4.1.2 ( I had installed it using odin to upgrade from ICS) using Philtz 5.0.. and when I used to restore to 4.1.2 JB from SuperNexus due to facing above mentioned problem, gallery is missing and setting option is also missing..
Please please guide me..
I will be grateful to you.
