S5 mini spikes on screen - Galaxy S5 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Ever since I got my G800Y a couple of days ago, I have been unlocking my phone to see these blue spikes on the side of the screen. This doesn't happen all the time but it happens ~ once every 10 unlocks. I have flashed cyanogen mod onto it, although it still showed up out of the box. I spent so little time with it stock that I only saw it twice and thought it was an anomaly.
I have my phones about and a photo of the artifact here: imgur(dot)com/a/GwzWL (sorry for the whole dot thing, but I can't post links)
It seems to happen most frequently when the battery is 100% (I have re calibrated my battery) and during night time.
It doesn't show up in screenshots
It seemingly happens randomly as I have not found out a way to reproduce these spikes consistently
Changing brightness doesn't work
Does anyone else know what they are/have the same experience?
I really want to stem away from a refund considering how much work I have already spent on the phone.
Thanks,
Luke

Wow. What OS do you use?

[Q] Bad Digitizer?

I've noticed the last few days that my nc has a hard time unlocking. I start to swipe my finger across the unlock and it moves about 1/10 of the screen then shoots back. If I do it a few times, I might get lucky and unlock it.
Does this sound like the digitizer is going out? It's one of the first production models (wife bought it for me for christmas right after they came into the store). So I don't know if there was an issue with them at all or not.
Everywhere else on the screen seems to be fine, but it doesn't do me much good if I can't open the thing to read the books inside.
*edit
Just did a test on the bottom row of books, and they seem to be working fine in that general area. Is anyone else seeing this only when trying to unlock the nc from sleep/off?
Do you have it plugged in?
Yeah it seems to happen on my girlfriends NC, at least when it was running 1.1 Stock, not sure I've noticed it since 1.2. It's not a bad digitizer assuming you have the same issue which was right after resuming from sleep it will SOMETIMES be a little pokey for the first 20 seconds or so but after that it slides smooth as butter. It never really bothered me since I just assumed it was reloading some software into memory. The only other common issues I know of are issues when plugged in as mentioned above and the seemingly obvious but often overlooked dirty screen.
I do notice in general that both NC's I use are a little less than perfect when touching the far corners (I often need to jab while making grunting sounds) but I figure it's an e-reader so they probably didn't spend a fortune on the capacitive part of the screen. If you are so inclined, loading up CM7 disables the lock screen by default and there might be a way to do it in stock as well although I suspect you will still occasionally need to give it it's 20 seconds to get things running again.

[Q] Problem screen brightness

Hi. Im a new user of this forum, therefore hello evereybody.
I need your help because I don´t know if I´ve a problem with mi moto g 2014.
I bought it 4 months ago. A month ago, I charged it off (like many times), and then, I switch on. So, when the display was loaded, the brithness suddenly began to increase and decrease very fast. It was as if the light (dimly) move quickly, as if screen shakes.
That lasted 10 seconds, and then dissapeared.
Today, again, it occurs the same; with same conditions. Sorry, but I haven´t photos or videos.
Otherwise, the phone is perfect; without screen problems. Only that occasionally the transitions dissapear during 3 -4 hours (when I go to hombescreen, there are´nt transitions; and then appears after 3-4 hours).
I wonder if you ever happen, because I do not want to have to delete all information to send it for service, and in the end, they did not fix anything (which has already happened with other mobile).
Thanks for your help. happy to be in this forum . Regards
I think its a hardware problem. visit SC
Sorry, what is SC?
Thank you.

[Q] Intermittent smearing (blurry) screen

Hey all,
I got this badass LG R watch for Xmas and it's never had a problem. Then a day or so ago it's started "smearing" on the screen. Anything white/lighter colour sort of ghosts or glows like it's being viewed through frosted glass.
The touch screen still works and any and all functionality is still there with no problems. It's only the view that's sort of washed out. I don't use "always on" and it's not screenburn as I've tried different watch faces and it still does it.
Worst part is: It's not permanent. It's completely intermittent and I have no idea how to duplicate it. I went to take a picture of it to go with this post, and now it's not even bloody doing it.
Not sure if it's related or not, but I've been having difficulties with my phone's OS upgrade at around the same time (4.4.3 is giving me ****s) and it's paired to that, so I don't know if that'd cause issues. Dog knows that the phone is having issues...
Any help/advice is much appreciated! Cheers!
Have run another upgrade across the phone and it appears to be bringing down the frequency of the blurriness. I'm seeing it only once or twice a day since then.
Any ideas?

[Q] Weird Issue with display

So I'm having some weird issue with my Sony Xperia Z, the screen works absolutely fine, but there's this mystical dissolve(my apologies, couldn't find the right word to describe this problem).
The phone have been dropped before, but nothing happend. It have always been protected by case and tempered glass. One day I noticed the text on menu starts to blur a bit. Then few days later the same started to happen with album. And the thing is I haven't dropped it in a long time. And I have never sat on it either, so that's not the cause.
And what's is most frustrating, that the pixels tend to dissolve only when picture is in background, if its pure black or any other color nothing dissolves. And screen works perfectly in games, but when I view pictures or i open even the menu it starts to act real weird.

PS - I already tried reboot in safe mode, complete factory reset through sony companion, opened it up and reconnected everything connected to lcd and digitizer.
PSS - Today I noticed that the picture blurs on colored image, while on black&white one it is perfect, any ideas?
I am facing the same problem. Havent got a solution yet.
Dont have a perfect solution but atleast i can help you with a trick of my own.
This is going to drain your battery quicker then normal
Go to google play and download screen filter and set it b/w 30 and 34 and adjust your phones brightness to half or even more than that
Im sure you wont be satisfied but atleast it wont give you tears while looking at the screen.

Click to collapse
It worked, still got some blurred lines, but now it seems almost fine. Thanks a bunch, but I would still love to find out where's the problem, is it dieing GPU, screen or some cable?

How can I correct the "ghost" effect on the screen of my Motorola G5s +?

I have been using it for a few months, and I have tried several things like using the "dead fix pixel" application, but now I received a call and the effect is worse. Any help? Any rom that includes screen calibration? I have not wanted to stop using Stock, but if I have to do it, I do it.
I have that issue too.. I bought this phone earlier September, brand new... But just after weeks, I already noticed ghost effect @ lcd burn in... So far I found no solution for this.. Temporary fix for me, is shut down the phone for about few minutes then restart it.. ghost effect is gone for a while before it's back few hours later... I'm pretty disappointed with the screen quality... The phone itself is very good, battery is good.. running high graphic games well too
I had an issue with ghost effect when I put a low quality replacement screen on. I now have an OEM screen and haven't noticed it since, although it may take a few months for the effect to start.
