Hey guys,
I accidentally selected the OTA that popped up on my phone while on a Stock ROM and now my Verizon LG G2 is stuck in a bootloop with CWM Recovery 6.0.4.4 I have tried to wipe everything and install a older CM ROM and Gummy ROM to see if that would get my phone to turn back on and it doesn't. I have researched many threads to see if there was a resolution for my issue, but everything that I tried did not work. I have a iMac and a Windows laptop and I have tried many things with Terminal and Command Prompt and nothing seems to work. I don't know if I am doing something wrong with ADB or if I am simply just missing other things, but I am trying to get my phone back un-rooted and back to stock to get my phone replaced under the warranty. PLEASE HELP!

Try the LG tools for bricked G2. Its somewhere on these forums. All you have to do is plug up to a computer and flash the stock ROM with the tool.

I tried the LG Flash Tool on a PC, but it gives me an error message LG USB/Parallel Lock Key is not detected and when I hit OK, it pops up with a Login with the Country filled in with Republic of Korea, ID and Password are left empty. I don't know what to do from there.
Enter into download mode by turning off your phone, then hold vol + and plug it to your computer.
Download the official firmware for your device.
Download FlashTool.1.0.54
unzip FlashTool.1.0.54, open the folder and launch UpTestEX.exe
Select type:3GQCT
Phone mode: DIAG
Select kdz file: browse for your official firmware
Then click: normal web upgrade test
Then click: Upgrade start
a new window will show, chose english language. Country: korea, then click ok and wait untill the firmware installs.
Good luck.

How can I flash TWRP when my phone won't boot? According to a post I read and a YouTube video tutorial I watched, they keep referring to turning on USB Debugging which I can not do.

Need help to unbrick my LG G Flex F340L software version f340l20b. It was rooted using towelroot. later I installed SuperSu app. But due to this OTA update was not installing. once downloaded during installi it was giving an error like "Your device is suspected in rooting. System update is not available for rooted device".
Later I installed flashify app from play store and tried flashing CWM recovery. Once recovery installed, phone tried to reboot to recovery where I got Secure booting error message. But the most terrible thing happened immediately after that. During that time OTA update downloaded once again and started installing. immediately after reboot, my phone is stuck in below screen. Now that its almost 3 days, my phone is in the same state. Even if I connect it to PC, though it seems that the phone is switched off, in PC I can see quite a few disk drives prompting for formatting those.

Thanks for sharing similar experience in a different thread. I installed CWM in my LG G Flex f340l20b. Once after that, while OTA update getting installed, my phone gets into this situation where there is no download/recovery mode, only LG logo comes in the screen along with security error. phone is getting detected as qhsusb_bulk and getting too many disk drives asking me to format those.

You can extract these file from kdz or tot.
Only 10 files are needed

Thats method is too clear.
1) U need 10 files aboot, boot, laf ,dbi ,sbl1, rpm, tz modem, recovery, misc.
U can extract these file from tot or kdz using lg firmaware extractor.
Note....kdz doesnt have misc file and it doesnt matter so dont worry
2) you need to install qualcomm driver and if yellow mark then disable digital signature enforcemt.
3) copy these file to unbrick very partiton tool folder.
Note..
If u extract these file from kdz or tot then these file files will be in .bin format then you need to simply rename the extension from.bin to .img
4)
See the disk managemet on your pc and find which disk no. Your phone showing.
If showing disk then run 1hardidsk.bat/exe
If it say disk2 then 2hardisk.bat
5)
Keep in mind.
D802 d800 d801 d805 d803 all have same partition table for these 10 files.
So if u dont see any model in the kist choose d800 or d802..
After its says continue close the window
And swithc off your phone by long pressing power button for more than 15 second so that phone turned off.
After turned off press and hold vol up button and conncet to pc.
If you stuck in download mode screen and didn't get firmware update screen
Then do this trick.
Switch off.
Press and hold vol up and connect to pc.
As u see download mode scree.
Keep pressing vol up many times
Around 30 times.

Yesterday a LG L Fino was brought to me for repair. It makes an error on boot. The error is the boot certificate verify error.I cannot fix this!
I tried booting in recovery, gives me the boot screen, then the error, black screen.
I tried download mode,same.
I even tried flashing it,but LG Flash Tool does not recognize it.When i connect the phone a whole alphabet of drives would appear with LG Logos on them.I was able to only open one of them, the size was 64MB and it stored a image folder.Device manager recognizes the phone as QHSUSB_BULK and a ton of Unknown Devices would appear, after that they disappear and the phone will be recognized as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port(COM4).Thank you

Hello sir!
I have never flash the phone. The first problem that I have seen was after one restart, it won't boot the os, I have seen the LG logo and after that it keeps reboots again. I have entered in recovery mode and wipe all data, but it didn't help. After that I started to see the message above(error) and that's all. My battery is completely empty and cannot charge it because the phone doesn't charge.

Hey there did you use advanced wipe to clear your data or was it factory reset.
If the LG Logo shows up and then the error comes then you can enter download mode by switching off the phone and then hold volume up key and at the same time insert a usb. You would enter download mode. If you enter the mode you can flash a KDZ

Or If you want custom rom only, enter into recovery mode.
Then click wipe and then advanced wipe.
Check data
Check System
Check Dalvik/art
Check Cache.
And then Press install and download the suitable rom for you phone.
If you cannot resolve the problem contact me again

No, they didn't use advanced wipe because they don't have a custom recovery installed. If you read their post more carefully, you'll see where they said that they never flashed the device, this means they have stock recovery, not custom recovery. None of what you posted helps them.

He can still enter into download mode and flash kdz using flash tool
Custom Rom cannot be flashed
But a stock rom can be flashed and can be fixed.
Its a soft brick so he can surely flash a stock rom and recover his phone :fingers-crossed:\
When you try to charge your phone it doesn't show the charging status
But when you completely drain your battery to 0% it will show 0% and shows charging and you can confirm that it is charging

Did you try to flash a stock update using TWRP?
If so, that is the problem. Stock updates can't be applied to a rooted device or a device that has TWRP installed, any one or both of these will interfere with applying the update. You can only apply stock updates to devices that have an unmodified system partition(no root, no Xposed) and have stock recovery, stock recovery is required for applying stock updates.
If this is what you did, your only option to fix this is to flash your full stock firmware. Do a Google search for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"
If the tools and files exist for your device, that should find it.

Hi guys !
We had unlocked the bootloader and after that, had installed twrp but it didn't start in a few attempts. The "Your software cannot be checked for corruption" screen appeared. I had read somewhere that it's just a warning about the risk of installing custom OS and I just should go factory reset, so I did (and that was a stupid idea, I know). And then the bootloop started to happen. My PC can't see my phone and I can't turn it off in any way
To turn it off just hold the power button... while its bootlooping, it will shutdown. Connect the phone to the pc and enter the bootloader. type fastboot devices, if the pc sees it with a question mark but cannot apply the driver, download the bootloader interface driver and set it manually, now retype fastboot devices and your pc will see it in fastboot, after that, reflash twrp or your recovery of choice, wipe all, format data and install your rom of choice.

I am having a similar issue after flashing the TWRP image - phone when into boot loop - resetting did not help. Now, it continues to reboot at the LG logo.
I was able to get it into the fastboot menu (once in like 50 times) - but am unsure of how to repeat the steps (to get it into fast boot)
Can you list the steps, and at what time do you press the vol- button, and when to connect USB cable?
Many thanks in advance

Hey! Don't lose your hope yet. I managed to fix my phone!
So first of all just to be clear - my problem was that after trying to flash ROM using Custom Recovery (in my case it was OrangeFox Recovery) my phone was stuck in bootloop and it did turn on by itself after forcing shut down.
What I did to fix it:
1. I've waited for battery to discharge
2. I've downloaded and installed on my PC:
- LG UPPERCUT - Download here - XDA
- LG Mobile Drivers - Download here - LG.COM
- Android Fastboot Drivers (not necessary needed but i wanted them just to be sure) - Download here - drive.google.com
3. After that I went to search for stock KDZ for my model and my region here (lg-firmwares.com)
4. When everything was downloaded and installed I took my phone and while holding Vol+ I've connected USB cable to my phone (make sure the second part is connected to PC before pluging in to phone) and after few seconds my phone booted into Download Mode
5. Now you need to run LG UPPERCUT - if your phone is listed in upper list then you good to go and if not, check your drivers and errors in Device Manager - select your KDZ in "BIN File", change checkbox from "REFUBRISH" to "UPGRADE", click "Start" and wait.
Your phone will reboot few times but after hitting 100% in Uppercut it will take 2-5 min and boot to stock OS!

I have a bricked device. I think I accidentally flashed boot into abl_a using QFIL.
My device is stuck on the bootloader. I can only access the phone using fastboot command and with EDL mode controlled with QFIL. I tried going to recovery mode and it shows "Your device cannon be checked for corruption" with a yellow warning then reboots into bootloader again. Then I tried accessing download mode using "Power off-Hold vol up-Connect USB" technique and it shows "Your device has failed a routine safety check and will not boot" and reboots back to bootloader. I have my .kdz stock firmware but LGUP won't detect my device since I can't go to download mode.
I have tried these steps:
Booting TWRP using "fastboot boot twrp.img" Output: Failed to load/authenticate error.
Booting TWRP using "fastboot flash boot twrp.img" Output: OK but nothing happened.
Flashing TWRP using "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" Output: recovery_a no such partitions error.
Flashing ABL V35 Bootloader using "fastboot flash abl abl_35.img" Output: OK but nothing happened.
Booting .kdz file using LGUP but LGUP doesn't detect any device in COM ports though it works using fastboot and adb before.
Downloading the full backup stock ROM and flashing the XML into the phone using QFIL. Output: Fail Firehose and Fail Sahara Error.
Any kind of help would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

you need to get lgup working again with the device, for that I believe you need abl, laf, boot and dtbo. so get those from the kdz and flash using qfil, then you should be able to go directly to download (lgup) mode and flash kdz.

Hi, thanks for the reply,
I just extracted my .kdz file using LG Firmware Extract but I don't seem to find any abl, laf, boot, nor dtbo img files. I only got LGUPc.dll, LGUPc.dylib, and V409N30f00user-signed-ARB0OPE with no file extension. I tried extracting only the file with no file extension but I'm not sure what to do with the file.
Many thanks.

Also, it would be wise to save off whats in those partitions first, even though it won't boot. At least that way, if you absolutely had to, you could get back to where you are now.
cheers

I just finished flashing those files, then I tried going to download mode, it gave me the yellow warning and boots back to the bootloader. I don't see many changes except when I start there is no yellow warning appearing, only when I try to go to recovery mode it still shows the yellow warning. Maybe there is something I did wrong?
Edit: I tried going to DL mode again and it actually goes to DL mode for 1 second and goes back to bootloader.
Thanks in advance.

did you flash all four files to both slots? as notes indicate?
remember, after flashing in qfil, we need to hold both pwr and vol down to get out of edl mode. Once you hear the windows chime, indicating the device is disconnected, immediately let go of pwr and vol dwn and just hold vol up. Keep device connected with usb cable. Also be sure to use a usb 2 port, not usb 3. A usb 3 port can result in corrupted files as it's too fast for old qfil sftwre.

I just reflashed all of them and enter the download mode and it works! Now I can access LGUP and when I try to start flashing my .kdz file it failed but I'm now trying redownloading the .kdz file with KDZ downloader. Just in case that .kdz really need a special download. I'll update when my .kdz is finished downloaded and if the flash is successful or not. In the meantime, do you have any sources for the LG V40 LM-V409N .kdz file version? It'll be very useful in case this file failed.
Thank you very much
Hi, I am here with the update.
So I managed to download the .kdz file for the LM-V409N it rebooted and booted for a minute and it restarted then looped from "erasing" rainbow circle then goes to back stuck on LG with a light animation until I hold the power button and it rebooted back to the rainbow erasing circle. So I just put and redo everything and now I got it back on download mode.
I think that I just have a bad/corrupted .kdz file. Do you have a suggestion on where should I find the files? I tried from lg-roms but it's bad firmware. I'll try more firmware for KOR, LGT, and SKT.
Edit: Hmm, I seem to be stuck on either the LG or LGU+ symbol, I'm not sure what to do.
Edit: Apparently, my phone still got the issue that it restarts randomly. I have no idea how to fix it now since the issue still persists after several different phone stock ROM.
Many thanks.

I'd suggest to get them here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmv409n-firmwares/
It's important to the md5 checksum to match against the hash they give you when you select a specific kdz. Then you know it's not corrupt.
after unbrick how to get IMEI? I have no backup. using V409N korean model.

Thank you for your answer. It would've been working now if I didn't get unlucky on the device. You're really helpful to help from my hard-bricked phone into firmware booted.
Again, thank you very much

If you unbricked your device with the stock firmware, just go to telephone and call *#06# and you got your imei. Best to backup your firmware with QFIL.
