Hi buddies,
I'm wondering something, in fact all lollipop rom we have for Mi3/Mi4 are a bit laggy even with Max frequency set and performance governor.
As example I'm always facing small lags when I scroll down quick tiles and when I have a notification at the same time. On nexus 5 there is not any of that kind of lag.
There are some other scroll down lags and Google now launcher lags sometime even with a well configured kernel.
So why no one of lollipop roms are really smooth as they are with nexus devices? Well I know android is made for nexus but we have such powerful devices that these lags are weird.
May a dev enlight me? Is it because kernel source code that we have from miui are made for Kitkat only? And you do you experiencing such kind of small lags?
Regards.

Hi guys. I really want to play the Vice City again, but I see lag on stock V20B. I'm also not ready for new phone (will wait for KitKat). I recently have bought Moga PRO Controller. What CM version and Kernel you can recommend for me not to see it (lag, of course)?
Try yourself recommends wont help you because everybody will say something different

I've played this game on every possible kernel with almost all CM 10.1 and CM 10.2 versions. It's almost lag free with default one kernel (CM stock) if you set it on performance. There is a little lag with most used terrains on Optimus Prime, there weren't any lags with iodak and werewolf, but heat was slightly bigger.
I have a Note 1 (N7000) , but i have a offer to change it for S III.(with no payment)
Can you guys give me advice what to do.
I do not want to regret for Note.
Thanks
The s3 is harder better faster stronger

Do it. 4 cores. More more recent updates.
Do it ...
better device and better chance for custom roms ... either based on TW or AOSP
Hey everyone,
There has been a lot of development going on recently for our device. So tell us what ROM and kernel do you use and why you like it.
It will help other people to know the features and USPs of other ROMs.
I am currently using Ivan's AOSP with Stock Kernel.
BTW Thanks @Cancro90 for your index.
I have now swtiched to Paranoid Android. Unfortunately, I cannot edit my poll vote...
Coming from Ivan's AOSP, it sure seems equally fluid, the battery life and performance is really good with Phantom Kernel.
I have used PAC ROM too, and it is a great ROM for those looking for a plethora of features.
MIUI v6? Nope, not my cup of android candy! Though a few people still use it.
I prefer my candy vanilla-like .
I've tried the AOSP and Cm ROMs, but I keep coming back to MIUI. I like the look and feel of MIUI, but the biggest thing is the camera. I can't stand the bad camera quality when compared to MIUI. I will miss the audio quality of AOSP/Cm ROMs as they sound so better. So it's almost a toss up between the two. If/when Xiaomi fixes the audio quality (hopefully with lollipop) I will be truly happy.
Also, for me, I got a Xiaomi phone to experience MIUI at its best, just like I would get a Nexus device to have the best stock Android experience. Sometimes I'll feel like going to AOSP, but I really like how MIUI feels on a Xiaomi phone.

I will also move to MIUI temporarily... My Google Cardboard is coming soon and I need the magnetometer to work for a few functions... Are there any stable custom ROMs with compass fixed?
EDIT: Just found out that compass works in Bitti09 CM

You can use IVAN Rom. Everything perfect except HDR picture. But customization is very less, however you can use xposed.

currently I'm using Ivans AOSP 5.1.1 on stock kernel after using the MIUI6 developer rom for quite some time.
MIUI6 PRO:
- gorgeous design,
- the best camera app for MI3
- plenty of features.
- stable
MIUI 6 CON:
- comparably slow and battery draining
- full of bloat-ware
I'm still testing the AOSP,
so far it seems stable (some random call drops) , is fast and responsive, consumes less battery and of course no bloat-ware
It seems most of the users use Ivan's AOSP...

Ahah yes MIUI Pro rom has the better camera with unleashed function (I posted it monthes ago on miui forum and a way to use it on chinese MIUI rom or other international MIUI. For camera with custom rom I'm using OppoCamera (yes HDR still broken) that allows me long exposure, zero shutter lag, manual iso and so on. Sadly HDR still broken and it's so useful function, Manual focus is broken too.
Actually I'm using Paranoid rom with stuxnet+ kernel, which is a great combo.
Hello, i would ask about best rom for games (mobile legends) I dont really care about features etc. i just want the fastest rom for xiaomi mi5. Maybe pure nexus? Now im on AOSP jdcteam and Mobile Legends is even more laggy than on Slim7 without EAS
I'm using RR and I dont have any performance issues. you can try using dragonkernel oc if you don't worry about your battery life

Hi,
Sorry for my english.
I'm having overheating issues after last MIUI update.
I can't play PUBG because of lags. My ping fluctuating a lot. My internet connection is fine.
I want to flash the best custom rom available to play PUBG smoothly.
Can anybody suggest me a good ROM & step by step guide to flash it?
Thanks in advance.
I am interested a bit in this myself. Personally I am running Pixel Experience 9.0 and it is very stable, only thing people report not working is hotspot and proximity sensor working if it feels like it - for me it was always like this though, I always talk on loud speaker anyway.
I do not game that much, the phone is a few generations old, so you'd be better of buying Poco F1, Mi 8 or 9 in my opinion if you want good performance.
Pie Crdroid works very good

Yes. I tried almost all ROMs. Gaming performance is still same.
Then I guess it is the phone poorly disposing of heat, quite well known issue for this model, ROMs won't fix hardware.
Anyway, back to main topic, I've daylied official Lineage 16.0 since it was released a couple weeks ago. Personally I am experiencing quite many bugs, like white notifications in dark mode and audio problems. YMMV, but personally I'll be going back to Pixel Experience once April update is up, as I was having zero problems with it.
Your English is fine. Try this ROM.

I've been using the HAVOC OS...
So far it is the fastest rom in terms of gaming...
Expect that your Mix will not lag in any games but at the cost of overheating...

Overheat problem is the same on all phone and computer. It has (almost) nothing to do with the ROM. The main factor is the voltage. On all my PCs I undervolt CPU and fine tune the clock speed of GPU (so the core voltage also stay in the low range). It works the same on a phone. Check undervolting guide for phone.
When the phone overheat, it lower its clock speed and voltage to allow heat dissipation.
You might want to find a good cooling fan for you phone if you're gaming.
I recommend using kernel adiutor 0.9.11.1 available on apkmirror with root access to configure CPU frequency. I did this on lineageos 16.1 with my Xiaomi Mi Mix and it's working much better than ever. I configured the frequencies and thermal protection, also the governors for BIG and LITTLE cores.
Before doing that I had huge performance and heating problems.
