You put it on the root of your sd card and just use TWRP but you have to be on version 2.8.6.0 if you want to flash images which is what that is.

I should be yes, Before I flashed a new rom, I unlocked bootloader and i got it rooted then installed a custom recovery which was twrp and then install nonsense rom 1.03 but on my phone it says NonSense beta 1.01 as the build number.
Try downloading this one but first extract it from the .rar if it's zipped..

Well after you're done downloading that extract it first but you should have a program on the computer to extract with... I use winrar because it's easy and does everything... After you extract it you need to get it onto your SD card but make sure it's in the root of the SD and not inside of any folder and then go in TWRP and wipe system dalvic, cache and data and then go back and restore/install the stock rom you're downloading now.

You need to get that whole file on your sd card but first let's try to just drop the entire file you downloaded the ".rar" and wipe the system like I said and go into TWRP and click install and see if it installs if it doesn't come back and let me know.

I figured it wasn't gonna show the rar file so do this one.
The next thing you should try is this... Use your computer to navigate inside of your sd card and look for this and click TWRP and then click Backups then you should see a folder similar to this FA48XSR09828 (but not the same as mine) click into that one and then take the entire extracted folder this one "cricketstock2014-12-22" and copy it in there and yes it needs to be in this folder so you need to somehow get it in there..
---------- Post added at 11:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:54 PM ----------
After you get that entire folder into your TWRP backup folder go back to wipe and wipe the thing's I mentioned and then go back again and this time click restore and you should see the cricketstock2014-12-22 folder tap to install that.

no it should not be on the internal storage the phone doesn't have enough room to do what I'm saying this file 900mb is to big for internal storage check on your external storage for the backup folder if it's not there we have to do something.

Alright do this then... Put your SD card back in the phone, boot into TWRP and then click backup and then make sure it's NOT set to try backing up to your internal storage make sure it says SD or ext_sd and then backup the broken system you have because this will then create that backup folder you need on your SD card that you can't find since you never made a backup up before after it creates the folders go ahead and copy the cricket folder in there then go back to the main screen and tap restore and then you should see the folder you copied in there as long as TWRP is set to external storage if it says internal again then change it back.

How do I backup up the broken system if i'm on nonsense? or do I just regularly backup just like normal? sorry for making you type and all. But I appreciate all the help you're giving me so far.

just make a backup the normal way. Just go into TWRP and tap backup and go from there until it's done backing up the messed up system. You only need to do this so we can get the stock recovery into the backup folder that you can't find.

I am trying to root my HTC One Developer Edition and I have twrp installed but when I go to do a Nandroid backup, I get an error that it failed. It appears it is related to that the internal storage is showing 0. When I try to install the SuperSU zip, it doesn't seem to see it but sees other folders, but again, internal storage is showing 0. I am not sure why or what to try next. New phone, haven't installed really anything on it yet.

internal storage 0 is a folder in the root of your phone. just drag whatever you wanted into that folder and boot into recovery and flash it
I don't think that is it. It should show something other then 0, which also I am uanble to do a Nandroid backup which appears to be the same issue. Any video I see online shows there should be something other then 0.
Actually I noticed that it is not showing any contents of the internal storage. It is empty.

Listen to your elders! TWRP does not read the SD card so it can only access one folder folder 0 zero which it makes on your SD card. You need to put what ever you are flashing into folder 0. And don't argue with your elders

I am running ARHD 10.1 based on JB 4.2.2. and my recovery is TWRP. The issue I am having started when I updated the rom from 9 something to 10.1. It was recommended that I back up the sd and then restore it back on the phone after the rom flash. I deleted everything from the sd card and then transferred the files to make sure the the files don't get corrupt if it was merged. However, this method was a headache and some files were harder to transfer. After I got everything back to normal I noticed one thing. My old back up of nandroid are still in the sd card, but don't show up in recovery and my new back after the transfer of files to sd card do not show up in the TWRP back up file in the sd card, but I can see the new backup of nandroid in recovery. Why is that. I looked everywhere in the sd card and I can't find any other place it will save them. So where did my phone save them and where can i find it in the sd card?

In my phone after JB 4.2.2 , the TWRP backups saved in the folder storage/emulated/0/TWRP
If nothing ,try to check data/media/twrp or data/media/0/twrp

I found the new back ups in data/media/0/twrp, but I only see it in the file manager in twrp. The folder is shown empty on es explorer with the phone turned on and I do not see phone files when plugged into the computer, only sd. How can I view phone files on the computer.
You need ES set to root explorer to view the contents of /data
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
This is one of the reasons CWM is much better
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Yes, you need root permissions for access to /data/media...
In general, something not so with your phone (file system), the path /data/media/0/twrp and path /storage/emuleted/0/twrp are "symlink". My advise, after you will take backup, keep all applications and data and make factory reset with formatting of internal sd under JB 4.2.2.
So i was on stock sense 5 4.1.2 with TWRP recovery and flashed Android Revolution HD 12. Now when i was about to restore my backup i made on 4.1.2 TWRP didnt show any backups... But there is backups on the TWRP folder. How can i restore the backup that i made before ?
Maby it's the md5 who is different ? If so how can i change the md5 ?
I tried restoring with ROM manager, but when i was about to start it just exits..
Someone who had the same problem ? Or maby knows a fix ?
PS sorry about my bad english.
Make sure you have the correct folder selected. If your backups are on the internal storage, select that. If they are on the SD Card then select that
Since you upgraded to 4.2.2,the file partitioning system is different. Your back up will be in the root - data/media

In TWRP, when you hit the "Restore" button there's a little tab right underneath the time and battery percentage that says either "Internal Storage" or "Micro SD Card", you hit that and you can choose which one

I actually don't even have an HTC phone, I have a Galaxy S 3, but try making a folder in your Storage folder (you should probably call it TWRP) and move your data/media backups there. Then rename your regular backup folder to end with '.bak' and update partition details. Beyond that, I don't have anymore solutions, sorry

If you look in the marhmallow thread under general says "its here",there is a gentleman i believe /u/DTR8UPX that uploaded a complete stock backup.if youve already taken the 6.0.1(MM) OTA and cant boot to android,i suggest restoring that from TWRP if you can access it. You should have folders structured for TWRP on both your internal and sdcard.,something like /TWRP/BACKUPS/YOURSERIALNO/Name of backup. So you want to extract the backup STR8UPX made, then place the first folder after his Serial # in YOUR serial Numbers folder.ive attached a pic to show you how my folder structure is.
Keep in mind the structure is the same only thing that would be different for you is that its on internal storage.
