Question....I just bought a vivid (missed sense shame on me I know) anyway, I've been 33 mins on battery and my phone went from 100 to 85%. Just checking my facebook and such...
It also discharges by 2% every 5 minutes to 10 minutes. This isn't normal right ?
Thanks in advance for your inputs

no this is not normal...are you running stock or custom rom? Mine will run down maybe 3 bars in 3 hours...not a half an hour...somethings amiss there

Thanks for your reply wild child.
I'll see about getting the battery replaced, I tried your Rom and it was the same issue with the battery, I'm currently running rumraider with banana's kernel.
Stock did the same thing. With lag
I'm going to see about getting another battery...see if that helps.

its [email protected] would be my next [email protected], if you got from at&t they should replace it for free.

I'll go there today and report back .

Wasn't aware you can run a different kernel on rumraider's rom.
so I called AT&T they don't have "batteries" for the vivid, they want to go to a store that can troubleshoot bla bla bla.
So I just ordered a pair of "1870mah" (I know they're not really 1870) off ebay for 23 dollars but im sure they'll be better than this battery right now.
@strose - I tried it, works really well, havent encountered an issue yet. also using system tuner pro to UV -45 at the moment and clocked at stock speeds since everything is smooth.
How many charge cycles have you been through? I ask because you said you JUST got the phone. My first few charges were dismal, but now this is pretty much typical unless I'm making a lot of voice calls:
Hot damn, that's great life there. 2 cycles. Yesterday. To dead, full charge died by night, full this morning. Now I'm on this charge.

Sorry for my bad use of English;
I got my lg optimus 2x 1 month ago and i noticed a huge battery drain.I was thinking that it will work fine after 6-7 full cycles.I saw a thread in which a guy that after doing a factory reset(he had the same problems as i have) the battery will work normally.
I did that but it didn't work for me. Is this the solution?Did I do it right?Do i have to buy a new battery? I have rooted my phone yesterday so I was thinking is this a software issue? I have lg official 2.3.4 ROM. DO i need another ROM?
please.
Help me guys.
Thank you!!!
Do you leave data usage on during the night? Are your apps allowed to synch automatically? Try using airplane mode during the night (that's what I do... I don't normally get calls or messages during the night )

I don't leave wifi ,background data or 3g on,if i leave it charged at 100% at the time i got to bed,the next day when i get back from school, without using the phone my battery level is around 40%.
Using a live wallpaper? The factory reset only works because it stops the application/rogue setting from being there.
If you get 'Battery Monitor' you will be able to see what is draining you battery, and any 'wake-locks' or 'partial-wakelocks' that are stopping the phone from going into sleep mode.
look at the battery usage indicator and post a screenshot of it. Maybe the problem can be isolated.

Yes that's why I did a general test drive for two weeks on my phone before starting flashing and rooting and what not. Unfortunately our friend here has already flashed CM7 on it.
Unless he's able to restore stock software I'm affraid he won't be covered by warranty...
If he uses NVFlash he will be able to get it back to stock
Its easy to put back stock firmware if he knows wchich one he had, btw usually there is one backup on your sd card, check for it.

Try to flash a cm9 rom. It saves a lot of juices. For 2.3.X. The battery drians is really terrible
Hey guys.
Just got this phone yesterday, haven't done much expect the obvious few apps (Facebook, ect...) Is there any way for me to improve battery life and the general way the device works? I know nothing about rooting and would only even attempt it of there were a 1-click method. I think it installed Jelly Bean a few minutes after I turned it on, but I'm not sure. I installed Cache Cleaner by Infolite, because it helped keep my last phone from rebooting, but I'm not sure I need it here. Do I?
I just got out of the hospital so my main concern here is just that it works good and is reliable, I would love to get the best battery life I could but like I said, I'm not really the mod type as I have no experience with it.
So, I would be grateful for any info you guys could give me. I'll post a screen shot to give you guys a better idea of what my device is running specifically.
-Thanks.
Yeah your running jelly bean. And currently its not a 1 click process. As far as battery life goes you could put the razr maxx battery in it and it'll last for a day.

(1. Root the phone and install the stock 4.1.1 update. Refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1976956 for instructions. Note: this step is not optional. You cannot install GoldenROM if your stock ROM is 4.0.4.
(2. Install Safestrap3 (aka "SS3"). Refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1979018 for instructions.
(3. Download both The ROM and the corresponding Gapps from the links below.
(4. Reboot. When the Safestrap 3 splash page appears, enter "Recovery"
(5. Make new rom slot and install both The ROM and the Gapps. Instructions are in "how to safestrap", http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/how-to-safestrap/.
(6. Reboot
(7. Enjoy

xXckkillerXx;; Thanks for the quick reply and the instructions, I really do appreciate it.
I'm just curious though, how/why will doing these things help my battery life and what other changes will it make to the device? And how great is the chance of me screwing it up and bricking the device?
Sorry to be such a noob.
-Thanks.

You wont brick as long as you follow the directions, its hard to explain why this rom is gonna help you out, its fast and deletes bloatware, and allows you to optimize your battery life so that theres less usage like when the screen is off, it saves a lot of battery life.
I would love to do it if it's gonna help, but I just don't have enough faith in myself to try it. Like I said, I just got out of the hospital (psychiatric) and my nerves are still a bit wonky. Maybe a 1-click method will be released soon and I can give that a shot at some point.
Sorry to hear that,
For now just disable every att app keep GPS off keep wifi off when not in use brightness low, close apps.

try to calibrate battery
1. Once your phone dies plug it into your HTC charger, (DO NOT TURN IT ON)
2. Let it charger fully (about 3 hours) until you see the light turn green, unplug the phone
3. Turn on the phone on but do not mess with it. (no checking email, messages, etc) let it sit for about 20 to 30 min
4. then plug it in again but let it continue to sleep (about 30 min)
5. once the light is green, unplug and your finished.
this is called a jump charge (DO NOT DO THIS ALL THE TIME)
the phone knows what your doing and it should re-calibrate any phone.
Thanks, and hey. I just noticed you're from Raleigh. I used to live on the south side near Garner. I'm in South Carolina now though, it sucks.
Not to be a bother, but I was thinking I'd switch my SIM card for a BYOD Net10 or Straight Talk one and go prepaid for the time. Any info/thoughts on how that might effect the phone?
Also, if my noob questions are getting tiresome feel free to tell me to shut-up. I'll understand.

I would say the best place to look is the sticky on these forums. But since you cant find it by looking here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463743
The sticky is simply named [18.11] SM-V700 (Galaxy Gear) STOCK ROMS COLLECTION (Newest: V700XXUAMK7). Notice STOCK ROMS COLLECTION
You can also just change the button mapping (or just not select it in aroma). You'll find the instructions in several threads here

My battery life is amazing also.
I have always disabled the wrist turn-on action in the past as it absolutely DESTROYED my battery life (the damn thing would go dead in like 5 hours). I hated to turn it off however because it is just so darn handy and I don't want to wear out the tiny hardware button.
With Null 20/21 I have been experimenting with different combinations for battery life. I could care less about bragging that my battery lasts 4 days etc. with all the features turned off, but I do need it to make it through a 12 hour work day before it dies.
For the last two days, I have left the motion on and the only thing I have done to increase life is leave the top clock speed set to 1200 with both cores enabled (on demand governor) and it has made it through both days with still a little spark left.
This was with blu-tooth tethering connected all day also with gmail/weather syncing (even though I could certainly live without that).

Per the website 62.78 MB
Right, it is a very small update. I am installing right now. I am not rooted or anything. So i will try and give some feedback when i finish installing. But i am sure that it is going to take a few days to notice any actual changes.
There's already another thread that was created yesterday about this update. Maybe we should all stick to that one so we have a unified place for information gathering. Allegedly this update was to activate Samsung Pay, but mine still did not work. I am completely stock and unrooted. I don't care, I just want better battery (too early to tell).
A 62mb update to enable Samsung pay? Yeah that doesn't make much sense at all.

I have Data off, International Data On, Wi-Fi calling off, VoLTE off.
When the phone goes to sleep and the Wi-FI is disconnected (I have "Keep Wi-Fi during sleep off), when it goes off it automatically turns on the Data....
If I have the data on, it goes off automatically. I have to run it on again to use it....
I haven't found the issue what is causing this. Phone not rooted

No issues here...everything works fine.
around day 2 after the latest update i noticed my battery life seemed to be lasting longer. I noticed my "time left" quote was exceptionally high, normally quoting 25ish hours max on a full charge, this time quoting 38.
last friday was the first day of any major usage. used it more than i typically do even on fridays (sat and watched youtube videos quite a lot), with 2 20 minute charges or so, from 8:00am to 6pm it was getting heavy usage, with about 3 hours of youtube going, and at the end of hte day i was above 60%.
That had me floored as normally after a normal friday, I'd be pushing my luck for 40% even with using my portable charger, and thats without youtube.
tomorrow I'll get to give it another hard test and see if it holds up again. if it does i think i will suddenly love my phone now
