Moto Care Replacement - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone received a moto care replacement phone recently? Curious if it came with 4.4 (unlikely), 5.0, or 5.1. Asking because I'd like to continue to use MOFO.

I just got a warranty replacement last week. It was on 5.1.

Yeah. I know it's not good for you guys that have to use mofo. I have a Pure Edition and I wanted 5.1 anyway so no big deal to me. Maybe you will get lucky and it won't be.

I've gotten 2 of them and they have both been on 4.4 and immediately ask you to update on first boot.

Well, that's good to hear. I might be able to prevent the update. Anyone know the best way to prevent the upgrade?

The update is not automatic. You have 2 choices, ignore the update message or disable MotorolaOTA if you have root.

2 Notifications T MO G Flex

So while I've been waiting to see if the talented devs find a way to get custom recovery on KK before I upgrade, a strange thing happened. I've had the one notification on my bar for a System Update for a week or so, which I assumed was the stock KK, but today I now have two System Update notifications. Anyone know what the second one might be? And if it could be something that could help devs I'd be willing to do whatever to help. Anyway, good luck devs! We're all counting on you!

I'm currently rooted and got the notification also. Is everyone pretty much holding off on updating? I'm afraid to lose everything on my phone and not be able to root again on top of that.

Nexus 6 with 4.4 Kitkat ?

isolated supposed to have been delivered in the states the nexus 6 with Kitkat. Whether the stories are true or not I dont know.
Maybe anyone has a Kitkat-Rom for the Nexus 6 ?
greetings, Peter
Nexus 6 was delivered with lollipop. Unless someone does a crazy backwards port, I wouldn't expect the nexus 6 to get kitkat at all

There was an early issue with some Nexus 6's where they came with KitKat and are in a factory test mode. This mostly happened to ATT versions of the phone.

I know people had asked for them to pull the software off the phones but I don't think anyone did and or were able to. I haven't seen anyone mention this issue in over a month.
The phones didn't work at all on KitKat. They would start and go to black screen. They recalled them. No one ended up with a n6 on KitKat that worked.

Look first at the price of a new N6.
You need to check if the user account is properly removed. If not you can not use the phone.
How would I know it's properly removed?

Get the seller to produce a time and dated photo of the phone at the second or third screen of setup.

What's a good rom for 5.1.1

I'm looking for 5.1.1 rom is stable and everything work's
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Just out of curiosity, why 5.1.1, given that it's considerably less secure than Marshmallow? There is a 6.0.1 MOB30H available with security update of 1st May.
Not trying to persuade you - I'm sure you have a good reason. As I say, just curious...

At this point being more secure on a nexus really is not a big thing. Many people are moving back to pre- material design versions of android.
"being more secure on a nexus really is not a big thing"
I said exactly that in a post a few weeks ago, asking whether the flaws they find in labs actually have any real-world impact, and was mightily down-voted for daring to suggest such a heresy...

Android security really is a joke. As long as it is rooted then security is out the window. People like to think security is a big thing.

The problem is that no one devs for that out dated version anymore. You will be lucky to find even a single rom for it. Maybe an old slim roms.

Slim roms. Its the name of the rom. I cant say everything will work completely and you will also lose many of the things 6.0 brought. Go into the dev section and look for a rom updated about a year and a half ago and that would be 5.1 based
Thanks I did euphoria but incoming calls don't work

just flash the 5.1.1 factory image, then root it. i googled nexus 6 5.1.1 roms, and found a bunch. but i cant say anything about them.

Your issue will most likely be that you will have to revert the bootloader as well as the radio files. If you are on 6.0 you will have to revert these things to work on the 5.1 which will require you flashing the stock rom from google then redoing everything from scratch.

Does xposed work with Vodafone smart prime 7?

I. Looking to buy. New phone and I was wondering if it worked for Vodafone smart 7
I've not found a way to root mine. Think that's first.
