Hi Guys, I'm thinking about switching from my Nexus 4 to S6 Edge. I can get cheap S6 edge [email protected] version which is unlocked for all providers.
Does [email protected] version comes with any additional bloatware? Is possible to flash non ATT branded firmware instead? (Or put there e.g. some europpean ROM?). I just would like to make S6 as clean as possible without any [email protected] Thank you!
the att s6 edge is heavily bloated. Also the bootloader is locked, so you cannot flash any roms not specifically made for the ATT firmware.
If the kernel was updated past May 15th (i believe), you will not be able to root either, and you cannot downgrade from that.
The sprint s6 edge has very little bloateware. It has about 5 uneeded apps unless you dont use most of the google apps then its around 10-15.

G925A is bootloader locked so you will be unable to flash anything other than TouchWiz Roms for ATT.
That being said there's a couple very debloated Roms for the G925A. I love my S6 Edge it's a great device in my opinion.

I have hunted around for an answer, but couldn't find anything that made sense.
I switched carriers (At&t to T-mobile) and have unlocked the IMEI, but I run into metric F--- Tons of issues.
So is it possible to load the Galaxy S6 Tmobile stock rom, or even a custom rom onto my At&t Galaxy S6? If so how do I do it?
Thanks for any help!

Given our AT&T version has a locked bootloader and is also the only derivative still on 5.0.2, there is quite literally nothing you can do. Being on T-mobile now, I would sell that G920A for G920T in a heart beat.
You may be able to root and install XtreStoLite rom v1.5 for increased performance and battery life, but that will never get you things like wifi calling. (which you'll probably need on T-mob)

Thanks for replying. What do you mean it has a locked bootloader?
Haven't had a note in a while and thinking about picking up a note 4. I am with T-Mobile and would purchase the T-Mobile version, I read about different variants and just wanted to make sure they could all be rooted, custom recovery and flashed without issue. In some of the threads here when people have issues, others ask what variant, etc.
Thanks

Get the sm-n910t (t-mobile version). Very mod friendly.

The T-Mobile version comes with the bootloader unlocked out of the box. You can do whatever you want with/to it.
I just purchase a T-Mobile Note 4 on 11/17/15 from one of their store. The model that I got is the SM-N910T3 and not SM-N910T. It comes with Android 5.1.1 installed instead of 4.4.4. You will probably end up with this model. Does anyone know if this variant is still bootloader unlocked? I also read that the TW 5.1.1 rom has root blocking enabled by Samsung, can anyone recommend a custom kernel that can override this to prevent a bootloop?
T is better for ROM Support VS. T3. T3 may be smooother

You want the T version for more ROM compatibility. The T3 version can be rooted and has a few ROMS but supposedly Samsung changed something in the phone so it has alot less ROM support. It does have root and 1 or 2 good ROM's though.
Root for T3
More info on T3

Did you ever end up buying this phone? I have been thinking about picking up a used one on Swappa to use as my daily driver until Samsung releases the S8 or Note 8. I currently have a LG V10 and even though it has an unlocked bootloater and root, there is zero ROM development for it due to issues with LG firmware/drivers.
Hey guys,
Is it possible to flash a international firmware onto an AT&T phone?
no
I bought s6 edge AT&T from USA but I am going to use my phone on europe.
G925A does not contain my country language.
I want to flash G925f on my AT&T s6 edge. Can I do this. What are the expected problems?

We will need eng kernel before that happens. I'm sure it will be doable in the future, not now though.
Edit.....looks like note 8 could be different than the s8...

Flash to all and all to flash...no prob
So if I flash AT&T firmware on Tmobile Note 8, it should work fine on AT&T since there's no Tmobile Unlock App in it? Right?
Just bought a Tmobile Note 8 and am trying to make it run on AT&T

Yes...if you look into the s8+ forum for carrier switch there is a guide that should also work for note 8...the main focus is to change the csc...however, you may just be able to flash the ATT firmware and it work when you put in the ATT SIM. It may be better to flash the unlocked firmware first...and then to att...but to get the device to be csc ATT, instead of ATT, ATT, TMB, You may have to follow the S8+ guide...
So try the easiest first, flash ATT...If activation does not work, flash Unlocked then ATT, if that is no good...follow the S8+ guide with Canadian firmware to change csc code of device to ATT...you might pm the op of the S8+ guide about what Canadian firmware to flash to change the csc...I am going to make a guide for us when I have a chance to test it myself...if just flashing to AT&T works...awesome, good luck
Oh yeah...the device must be unlocked first to change carriers...you can get it unlocked by T mobile or by paying for it

Pretty certain that if you flash TMobile firmware to a Verizon model you will end up with a brick. Available root for the Verizon Galaxy S6 depends on the build number but root shouldn't be required to run on TMobile if the device is unlocked. The forum is here:
