So I had KK on my Note4 until I just decided to jump into LL. I tried updating it using the software update in the phone and that somehow caused it to boot loop.
Now, I downloaded 5.0.1 and I'm trying to get it installed with odin... however, it keeps giving me the "FAILED" error. I have also tried the previous version of KK and I get the same thing...
I have tried a couple different versions of odin and still nothing.
Any ideas?

You need to turn re-activation lock off in order to get odin to work..

So about three days ago I decided to root and put a custom ROM on my phone. Followed the MobileTechVideos and realized something odd happened.
Why did it show 2 different COMS? Shouldn't there have been one?
My build is 1010 and it was the VERY first time I rooted and put a custom ROM on.
Here we are three days later with NO problems.
Plan on putting a different ROM tomorrow and wasn't sure if I should worry about this or if it was just a glitch.

I have seen this on rare occasions....i blame Windows and move on.

So nothing to worry about, huh?
I'm about to try a new ROM so I'll update once finished.
Well I didn't flash when this occurred, I don't recall if just restarting odin cleared it up or if I had to restart windows.
Yeah, I remember it just not going away. Either way it did recognize it and worked itself out. Maybe a bug or just because I have build 1010?
I can't get into download mode via three button... Check out my other topic, please!!!
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Gear SM-V700 and had it paired with my Note 3.
All was fine until I got a Nexus 6 then wanted to pair it with that to find out I couldnt unless I rooted it and installed a different ROM. So I did and installed null rom.
I know want to be able to return it to stock as I am not liking the new ROM but being the douche I am I did not make a nandroid backup.
I am now failing to find a suitable original rom to restore using odin.
I downloaded the latest stock rom for the device using sammobile but I think its a tizen rom and it always freezes in odin as it starts to flash the bootloader and the last message displayed is 'zimage' but then nothing happens and the device then remains stuck in recovery mode asking me to connect it to kies which I can also do nothing via.

I have now got it up and running what looks like the stock rom but I am trying to update it via the gear manager app on my note 3 while I still have it and its saying registration failed.
Can anyone please help me on restoring this to true stock and upgrading it to the latest version of tizen?
Many thanks,
Daniel.
Hi All,
I'm looking to fix this S3 from this boot loop problem. It ended up in this problem from use, not by firmware changing.
ODIN Fails almost immediately when trying to Flash.

I've used the Firmware file name: I9305XXUFNI3_I9305DBTFNI3_DBT from a XDA forum page
This was running Stock Firmware (Grey Import) with root via Framaroot. No Custom Recovery or any Custom changes like Radio firmware).
Before my replacement phone arrive, I had a very similar problem one day and I attempted to do an ODIN Firmware flash to recover, it failed to flash then also but must have done something because my phone continued to work for another 3 months.
I have recovered everything I needed during this time but now I want to get this phone working again.
I can't see anything physically wrong with the phone and there isn't any water damage. I disassembled / re-assembled to check for any internal damage.
Please guide me where I should proceed from here.
Hi,
I recieved my S21 Ultra yesterday and sucessfully rooted it using the guide/youtube tutorial.
Today, I restarted the device and upon restarting it would go into a bootloop with a small message on top saying:
'Custom binary blocked due to remaining installment balance'
After searching, there are sources saying that this is due to the device being on finance or not fully paid. But I have fully paid for the device.
I had to flash stock FW using ODIN and it would now boot up and is working fine,
But then I try to root again, but Odin will get stuck on OMR when flashing prism.img

The download mode would say something along the lines of:
custom binary(VBMETA) blocked due to remaining installment balance
Also in the developer options I do not see the OEM unlock option anymore, and doing the tutorial to show this is not working either.
Any help would be appriciated.

I am trying with latest FW
Hi all. Great forum btw. I've spent days browsing the material, yet, I've still messed up my device.
I attempted to root the S10, unlocking the bootloader etc, however, I messed up the patched image part and ended up in a boot loop. The mistake I then made when in the download area was locking the bootloader again. I know, I'm an idiot.
Despite flashing the phone with stock firmware using Odin, when the phone boots up it says it's can't apply a Managed Service because the phone has, or did have, a custom OS on it.
I've tried all sorts via ADB, Odin etc, but I'm stuck. The worst part of it is that it's a work phone, and I'm not sure how I'm going to explain myself to the IT department if I can't fix this myself - eek!
Help! Any help is really appreciated. Below are a few pics of the areas I can get to, plus the messages I get when I try and boot the phone normally.
Thanks for reading this.
(I can get to these areas fine, but despite factory resets and trying all the other options, I can't progress)
