Timer will not turn off ! - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Whenever I set the Timer on my phone (Z3 Compact) there is no way to silence it when it rings other than to get back to the app screen and press stop. Surely there must be an easier (side button) control?
Thanks for any help.

problem with alarm?

when i put it to sleep mode, the alarm doesn't sound..it seem that the alarm cuts out in sleep mode..is there any tweak for this issue because i've been searching the internet and found that i'm not the only one with this problem?..
if there is no tweak,is there any freeware software that allow alarm to ring in sleep mode?..
i really need help because i'm kinda new to PDAs...

What do you mean putting the Diamond into sleep mode? I only suspend the Diamond by pressing instead of press and hold the power button. The alarm will sound at set schedule. Software like alarm running in background needs Windows mobile to be in suspend mode in order to work.
what i mean is pressing the power button..when you press it once,it will turn off the screen and put it to sleep mode...if you press and hold it,it will turn off the device..2 different things there..i know that the alarm will sound, but try waiting for it sleep again and the alarm wont continue to repeat again eventhough i checked the option of repeating the alarm in the settings..this means that if you set the alarm..alarm will sound but when the device go back to sleep mode,it wont sound anymore..

sorry...accidentally posted too much...dont know how to delete
Make sure your phone isn't silent or set to vibrate only because it won't ring in either of these two cases- the ringer has to be on- also make sure you check the appropriate days of the week that you want it to ring on.
I have the same problem
In particular, I put alarm and it does not sound HOWEVER reminder (5 minutes later) sounds OK
I have checked already all setting I could find. phone is not in silent mode (again reminder sounds OK)
What is also strange I do not have settings of sound for alarm. I have one for reminder but not alarm...
Does anybody else have this problem?
Any ideas regarding solutions?

Fast sleep during call is not fast enough

Hi! I'm back with kaiser and have a question. When you calling someone and listening to long tones waiting for answer screen is not locked. You can manually push power button to turn screen off, but it is not very handy. Is there an app to lock and turn off screen (=sleep) RIGHT after you pressed green button and dialer start dialing and connecting? I'm asking because fast sleep during call only activates after connection has been made...
you actually want a different dialer.. Check out the dialer used on the ROM I run, it had a slider function...

Screen Timeout during Calls

Is there anyway I can turn off screen timeout during a phonecall? It's really annoying when I hit end to end the call but it actually only turns the screen on and I have to hit end again... I would rather have the screen stay on during calls and hitting end (either the physical button or the on screen end, but in this case, probably the on screen end) to end the call. Are they're any apps on the market or any patches for ROMs (I'm rooted running a custom ROM) that I can get to achieve this?
Thanks
i would also love to be able to do this. Toggle would be good for this setting too. When I am on conference calls , I typically use a Bluetooth headset. Therefore I need the screen to stay on to control mute, etc. But when I am using the phone up to my ear screen timeout would be desirable so that i don't accidentally press buttons.

Unable to activate screen during call

Hi all,
This has happened to me twice now and I can't figure out how to fix this.
When you make a call you have your standard options on your screen such as mute, speaker, numbers etc. However after a few minutes the screen naturally turns off and there is no way to turn it back on again without having to press the Sleep button.
The reason why this is a problem is if you want to enable/disable mute, speakerphone or you need to input a number as in my case i was on hold for a long time to a call centre.
I tried to press the back button as well as home, but both did nothing and finally the volume buttons but that didn't activate the screen. The only button you can press is the Sleep button but that will end the call.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
When you are on the phone, the screen should turn off when the phone is near your ear, pretty much immediately, and come back on soon after you take it away. Unless you are using speaker phone of course.
Perhaps a problem with your proximity sensor?
The sleep button only ends the call if you set it too.

[Q] Toggling Normal, Silent & Vibration Modes?

In Kit Kat, I held down the power key for a second and was then able to select different sound profiles depending on where I was.
In Lollipop, the only option I get is Power Down!
Have the toggles moved somewhere else?
They have been removed, the tap the bell icon in the volume bar (through the rockers), it will set to vibrate. And then, there is the priority settings to mess about - no silent mode, for now; perhaps on 5.1!
Cool thanks
Press one of the volume buttons. Then tap "None". That will set your phone for no interruptions which is what I'm finding to be silent mode. You can set some contacts to have a priority and use the priority setting to allow certain contacts to still ring.

Note that this will only work until the next time Moto Voice is invoked (purposely or accidentally); then the phone will set the ringer volume to 60% and leave it there.
WTF?

Yeah, I think that's clearly a bug. Hope they can fix in next release.
