Hi,
We recently upgraded our AT&T Moto X to 5.1 and the lockscreen is causing us issues. We used to be able to just swipe the screen to unlock but now the phone and camera shortcuts launch when swiping from the sides. I'm forced to swipe up only to unlock.
I tested this on a Galaxy S6 and the shortcuts only seem to work if swiping directly from the corner icon (phone or camera) not the entire side of the display. Is there a way to mimic this without losing the Active Display?
Thanks,
pt
No way to stop the lockscreen from working this way?

In HTC Sense, whenever I activate the display, I get the normal unlock screen which allows direct access to different apps by swiping the corresponding dock icons...
This normal lockscreen is ALWAYS shown, and if I have enabled a secure lockscreen (like pattern unlock or face unlock), this secure lockscreen is shown AFTER the first "normal" lockscreen.
Is there an AOSP/AOKP/CM based mod that can do the same thing?
edit for clarification:
Use case is the following: I use face unlock, but sometimes I just want to have a quick look at the lockscreen (widgets). But with cyanogenmod, as soon as I press the power button, my face gets recognized and the phone is unlocked. It's so quick that I can't even see the dashclock widget.
So it would be perfect to have a normal "slide to unlock" lockscreen (with different slide targets for different apps), and THEN the face unlock.
I don't get it why HTC Sense seems to be the only system that has this kind of behavior properly implemented
Follow-up: Now I use Widget Locker, it does exactly what I want.
another follow-up:
Unfortunately, Widget Locker has its own problems...
I have different apps that show music or other playback controls on the lockscreen (Play Music, TuneIn Radio, Yatse), and those don't work with Widget Locker.
So this brings me back to my original question... is there really no "not-Sense-based" rom that can display the normal "slide to unlock" screen before the secure lockscreen?
This "issue" is happening since upgrading from JB to KK. On the JB when double tap on closed quickwindow screen turns on and it is unlocked, can swipe between screens. But after upgrading to KK and do the same, small lock sign appears, and first I need to swipe to unlock and only then I can change the screen (weather, music or clock). It's reali anoying since i want to see weatcher screen when I double tap, instead locked clock screen is shown, and after unluck weatcher screen appears. Is there any fix for this?
swipe over the lock and it's inlocked now you can change the screen. this is for protection.
that is my point - I don't want to have screen locked when case is closed, like it was on the D80210A or D80210E versions
Purchased a very lovely P9 on Friday, and have a quick question about the lock screen.
On my Z3 (and other droids), you could swipe down from the top of the lock screen to see your notifications, once you had cleared them from the lockscreen.
I cant seem to find an option to do this on my P9. Is this disabled in the Emui software, or is there a way to enable it i have missed?
(I must admit, I didn't know to swipe UP on the lock screen to get the quick settings to appear until about an hour ago!)

I'm also missing this option. It is really useful and should be supported. Maybe some other lock screen app has it? I'm also missing how to dismiss notification from lock screen. I can only open notification but no to dismiss it. Any idea?

:good:
Benzo Rom for the Nexus 6 running 5.1.1 Lollipop allows the ability to toggle a secure lock screen from the quick settings in the notification drawer. For example, from the launcher, I can pull down the notification drawer to access the quick settings panel and tap the lock screen option and it will automatically engage the lock screen even if there was a password/pattern/gesture/pin, etc. previously setup. If I tap it again, it will remove the secure lock screen.
My concern is that this feature was built into the custom ROM itself and I don't know an alternate solution to this. Is there any solution to achieve this?

I think starting in MM (6.0), Google locked down this feature in favor of the smart lock function. You can set a trusted place, trusted device (bluetooth or NFC), trusted face or unlock until it detects it's been set down (on body). More information
I think, because the intents/secure action has been removed, it's not going to be something offered as a quick tile. I'm not aware of a work around.
That said, it's possible a ROM like lineage might offer this type of functionality.

I am currently running Pure Nexus Android 7.1.2 and have done some extensive digging to realize that a lot of keyguard and lockscreen solutions for Nougat and Marshmallow aren't working at all.
Taskers keyguard toggle option as well as Secure Settings keyguard toggle and lock screen features are broken and not working.
Secure settings is pretty old and outdated as it's been well over 2 years since it's been updated. The only options left are Taskers AutoInput looks really painful and the only other option is SecureTasks. The thing with SecureTasks is that it's relatively new and hasn't been tested long term and the method to gain device ownership looks really sketchy.
I have recently upgraded my software to the latest pie version on my note 9. A feature I find rather interesting is the full gesture control. However, when I enable gesture hints, i get this thin white line at the bottom of my screen in certain apps. Like Yahoo mail. On the lock screen and normal menu it isn't there.
When I disable gesture hints I dont see it at all on any of my apps.
It's no big deal but it just annoys me.
Is anyone experiencing the same thing.?
Is probably because it just hides the navigation bar with hints enabled which is why I'm seeing the thin strip at the bottom ?
