I have a Moto X 16gb running on 4.4.2 kitkat, when I connect my joystick to otg cable it doesn't work in menu and in games (tried on asphalt 8, fifa 15) but if I connect keyboard, mouse and flash drive it works, only joystick/gamepad is not working is there any way to make it work?
the same joystick when I connect to my cousins tablet (lenevo a7 a3300) it works in menu and even in games like ashpalt and fifa 15
My phone details:
Android Version: 4.4.2 kitkat not rooted
Bootloader locked
Carrier: AT&T
Kernel: 3.4.42-g27de6975
System version: 165.44.1.ghost_att.ATT.en.US
I tried with USB/BT JoyCenter and it detected the joystick as "Generic USB Joystick" then I enabled the IME and the joystick worked in menu (home screen, drawer etc) but not in-game since my phone is not rooted I haven't tried J>T option, is it a problem with my joystick or with moto x since the joystick works fine in my cousins tablet in fifa 15 he can move left/right but shooting and passing doesn't work. I'm thinking of buying a xbox 360 joystick wired/wireless but don't know if that will work or not

I've been trying to use my Xbox controller through an otg cable but when I connect it to the phone all 4 player light (in the circle) starts blinking and the controller doesn't works but in my nexus 5 it just shows player 1 and it works as a navigation device too...
So is it the ROM fault or something with kernal ... Or there's a way to enable it ... ???
moto G2014
minimal os 3.0
stock kernal
I have an unofficial lineage rom running Android 7.1.2 (rooted) .
My problem is that my wired Xbox 360 controller isn't working properly with my phone , All it's LEDs are constantly blinking but Android isn't responding to it.
My Xbox controller works perfectly with my PC and the rom I'm running has OTG support , I have checked it myself my mouse , keyboard and crappy "Trust" brand ps3 controller ripoff they all work perfectly .
I have heard that some phones don't have the Xbox keymap files. So I downloaded them and inserted them into my /system/usr/keylayout directory using root explorer but that didn't do anything.
I have also heard that luckypatcher (which I incidentally had) can interfere with Xbox 360 controller support and that you have to uninstall it ; so I did.
But alas nothing happened.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi I need help with the Dual shock 4/ any controller connecting to the Mi Max 2 via OTG. Why otg? because android has major lags and delay on bluetooth for gamestream. I require an OTG connection.
1.My phone is Rooted. I am on android 7.1.1
2.Iv tried the Xbox one controller and PS4 controller none work via OTG on the Mi Max 2 ( tried with usb Bt joystick centre does not detect anything)
Are there any custom roms or kernels I can use to get OTG gamepad support? i bought this phone for game streaming. Iv heard some kernels add gamepad support Via otg but I have no idea where to look. There are no guides.
Id apreciate any help. Thanks.
PS3 controller works flawless via usb otg and bluetooth for me, I'm running Nougat RR right now but I think I got it to work on xiaomi.eu rom too.
Even Nintendo Switch Joycons worked (with a huge input delay), but I don't know about the PS4 controller
I know how to connect PS4 controller and play smoothly using Bluetooth
From my experience, I can tell you that XenonHD 7.1.2 Custom Rom is the only Rom that has the correct input layout for PS4 controller (X button selects, O button goes back) other Roms so far have the input layout wrong (Square = X, X = O , something like that).
Input delay can be fixed (if you are using Bluetooth) :
1 - Download Bluetooth Auto Connect from Google Play Store
2 - Open the app , go to Advanced Options
3 - Set Continuous Connect (Sec) to 10
4 - Go back and scroll up and select Connect and you're good to go.
(Thanks to Raúl Alcántar for this method on fixing input lag, he's a guy who commeented on a Youtube video )
Hello.
I recently purchased a P30 Pro 512GB (Model VOG-L29 Build Number: 9.1.0.124(C431E4R2P2) GPU Turbo) and wished to try some games using a physical game controller.
As I had a PS3 game controller and an OTG cable I thought that would be an easy (and cheap) solution. I understand that I wouldn't be able to connect via bluetooth without root, but I should be able to use it via cable?
However only half of the pad works (left analogue and a couple shoulder buttons), I installed Game Controller KeyMapper from the play store to check and it appears that every other button is returning Key Pressed = 0
I unplugged the cable and tried this setup on my Huawei P10 Plus and it worked perfectly.
Could anyone suggest reasons for this issue and possible work around?

HI I was wondering if you ever found how to make your controller work? I m having the same problem on a honor 8x, it used to work perfectly and recently only my left joystick seems to respond
Have you guys found a fix for this problem? I have the same problem like you on my Mate 20 Pro. My Ps3 controller works on any phone except my phone.
Hi, i just bought the Mi 9 Lite 2 months ago and in my experience, everything is as good as i expected. But there's just a teeny tiny bit of problem: My last phone is an OPPO F9 using ColorOS 6, and i usually play emulated game on it with a USB joystick (somewhat crappy but usable).
I bought a OTG cable, one side to connect the controller and one for the phone and it worked well right away without using any additional third-party apps.
But now when i try to do the same with the Mi 9 Lite it just won't work, there's lights on but no input can be made. I tried to figure it out on youtube, google and downloaded some third-party apps, all of them didn't work for me. It seems to be MIUI problem with the UBS Joystick?
I'm pretty much dumbfounded, looking for help right here, hope i won't have to throw my controller into the trashcan (at least i still have my ps4 controller which still works with bluetooth, just not the crappy USB joystick)

I tried connecting a USB xbox360 Joystick on my mi 9 lite and it didn't work. But PS4 via Bluetooth worked fine. I think that it must be kernel related. If you are rooted with magisk, you can try to install a module that supposedly, it adds support for all other controllers. I tried to on my old phone (Samsung Galaxy J3) and unfortunately it didn't work. But you can try anyway
I have a similar problem i kinda know why ist not working and have no solution. So when i first bought my phone i used my f710 it was working perfectly after i think upgrading miui 11 my f710 stops working it doenst even respond in any app but when i try to use it with steam remote play app Steam asked for permission to acces usb device(like asking permission for your storage or camera etc.) i granted and it was working perfectly again but only in steam remote play. So the issue is the other apps games or emulator doesnt even ask for permission and gamepad doesnt work.
Hello guys i Found the solution!
Go to settings and found miui press 5 times and become developer, then go to developer options and disable miui optimization DONE. Then will ask for permission when you connect controller.Connect usb otg adapter and controller will work (my controller is torid speedlink)
