Does anyone by chance know of an app that can be using to assign different volume levels to different apps or functions? For example, if I am playing clash of clans my volume is low, but when I switch to Spotify my volume is higher.

If you are rooted you can use Tasker to do this. Create a Profile for when a specific app is launched. Then make the Task to change Media Volume. Should take a few minutes to setup and work perfectly.

Since the last couple of days whenever my phone is in lockscreen and I control a music app (walkman, soundcloud), pausing or changing the song does change the song that is being played, but the display stays the same (it gets stuck on the current song). It happens both with headphones plugged in and without and deleting app data/cache doesn't help. Also, no 'smart key' installed. Help would greatly be appreciated!

I had faced this issue earlier in one of my devices. Its because I used to clean the apps by swiping them after long pressing the home key.
While playing music, if i swipe and clear all running apps(including the music app), the music player still works. But if I lock and try to control via lockscreen controls, it wont respond!
So thereafter I never used to swipe it out!
give a try!
Thanks for the reply! It did not really help. Also, not being able to kill applications would not really be a solution for me any other advice?

Edit: I found out that the controls and the display work correctly when the camera is running in the background. I have no idea why though..

Is it possible to send commands to the pebble to open up a certain pebble app via the smartphone. Such as using tasker to create a task that when a music app is opened a certain pebble app is opened on the watch to control the volume or skip to the next song.

Like he already told you, yes you can, using that app. There are intents you can send to open up and close the watch app, among other things.
Example of Tasker creation that uses that feature:

What are these intents to open or close a watch app? Specifically the Music app? I guess these are part of the SDK, but without having to download it, does anyone have these handy?
Sorry to bump a dead thread, but I'm looking to do the same thing.
Edit: I figured out how to do it! Inside the settings for Music Boss, go to Tasker Integration and make sure that launch watch app intent is selected.
Then in Tasker, make a profile that activated when your music app is open. Go to to tasks, and create a send intent action, then select the action field and paste this into it: ca.rebootsramblings.musicboss.LAUNCH_MB_WATCHAPP
All done! You can also make an exit task by typing CLOSE_MB_WATCHAPP instead.
Edit 2: Oh my, you can even have it change which app your controlling. I now have Music Boss open up on the pebble and switch which app it controls when I open Play Music, Beyondpod, Netflix, or Hulu.

Moto X Dev Ed. I hate the G**gle Player app. I don't want them knowing what I'm listening to. (How does it frickin' bypass Android Firewall to get album covers?!) And it has no volume control through headphones.
I tried Phonon, but it doesn't allow you to choose a folder to play, which is a vital function for me.
Walkman crashes on this phone, at least this Tit-restored one I have, and it's not in the Play store.
Anyone recommend an audio app which allows you to coose a folder of music to play?
Is there a reason my volume buttons have no effect on the level in headphones? (it's too quiet)

Have you tried PowerAmp? There are free and pay versions.
I don't think volume control headphones work with android phones.. at least they never have in my experience (unless maybe they're specially made for it) Only pause/play button works. I don't think its an app issue, its android itself I believe.
As far as players I use a simple less known app called Maple which lets you play from folders and has some cool features like pitch and speed adjustment, and its free.

I have used PowerAmp in free version. Happy feel to using it..
PowerAmp expires after two weeks.
Maple is OK, although I'm still trying to figure out how to play a directory and switch directories.
Also, these are not volume-adjust headphones. They are just regular Koss headphones, but the phone's volume control doesn't have any influence over the volume in them. Controls do work with the phone speaker.
JetAudio. I like it on my Windows machines, and I think I'm going to on KK too. I think it'll play a directory since it plays 'albums' in a directory.

Hello all,
I just started motovlogging, which is just riding a motorcycle and doing a vlog, and I was interested in using my Galaxy Gear to start recording my voice from my phone which has a mic connected to it.
I was wondering if there was anyone out there that could make an app to allow me to start an HD audio recording on my phone from the app on the gear. I currently use "Smart Voice Recorder" from the play store and I get good audio quality from it. I would just like to be able to start, stop, and see the current length of my audio recording on my gear. The higher the audio quality the better.
It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

You could achieve most of what you've asked for pretty easily without a new app being developed. You'd need: easy voice, tasker and tasgear. Easy voice has a tasker plugin to start and stop voice recording. Create start and stop tasks using the plugin on your phone then use tasgear to remotely start the task via the gear.
The best I can think of for seeing the recording time would be to use the stop watch on the gear. If you have tasker on the gear then that could set up the task to also load the stop watch at the same time as the phone is recording audio.
The first option is a lot easier in the setup side than the second as you'd either need to start side loading onto your gear or flashing null Rom

Title.
I usually listen to music while outside so I use this a lot, but my current earphones don't have any buttons. I used to be able to do this on my older Xperia (custom ROM) so I was a bit surprised that it didn't work with Z3C.
I kinda like using the Walkman app but I change if there's no other way
Thanks.
Try Degauss app from the Play Store. It's also configurable and low on resources
