Hi guys,
So I used to have a DX and I currently have a Galaxy Nexus, both of which I underclock while the screen is off to their minimum setting, which has doubled by battery life on both devices (40 hrs on DX & 30-ish on Nexus with moderate use.)
I really want to recommend the Atrix HD to some people who are looking to get their first smartphone (since it's the right size for what they want, etc.) but I'm concerned about the battery life. Has anyone does the underclocking? If so, how effective was it on the S4 chip?
Thanks!
Without root??
The battery life isnt that bad with the stock battery imo..
But i´ll order the razr maxx battery nxt week...think is the best upgrade for the phone..
Stock with lot downloading, game, video, chrome and auto brightness..:
First of all, I earnestly apologize if this question is answered before. I am seriously thinking of getting this cell. I am from India and it is an absolute steal now for a quad core and 720p screen now. Plus I love the Optimus UI the most.
I need a few inputs from you fellow users.
i. How is the battery life of the phone? With moderate usage (music in headphones, few snaps, half an hour of gaming) will I get a full day?
ii. Is there any commendable ROM for this phone? like MIUI or CM?
iii. How is the performance? Is it comparable to the other Quad Cores like the ONE X or the S3??
iv. Any word on Jelly Bean update? (leak, official, custom --> doesn't matter)
BTW, am expecting some "Answers" and not flamings. please...
awaiting answers.
regards,
achyut.

1. Battery life good. Same as other quad phones. You can buy better battery if needed
2. For now no.
3. The performance is in the same track as other quad phones
4. For now no.
Hi you may just be able to cross the day but keep the charger ready at home to be charged
No custom ROM as of now as bootloader is locked but measures are on to unlock it just search the forum
Comparable to siii in my opinion

Well, apart of the camera, that for some people is enough, the phone is very good.
We still don't have custom ROMs but ICS 4.0.3 is a smooth and fast OS in this device.
The size is the ideal, specially using GPS, to see TV or just replay your own videos, or to see web sites.
Battery is good, of course that depends on how each one uses the phone. Miracles finished long time ago...
The shape is nice, not a pebble, not a brick, like Italian cars
The relation quality/price is one of the best too...
But like everything, some love it, others hate it... perfection don't existe.

You should go ahead and buy the device. It is absolutely worth the price. In fact, looks like until Optimus L9 arrived in India, 4X had good/decent review on flipkart.
In my case, the battery last for 1.5 days approximately (few calls, sms, games, WiFi-internet browsing, etc). As others have said, if you are a heavy user, you have to charge is every day. I guess any smartphone with continuous usage will drain the battery fast.
1. My battery life is great, i can get trough a day of use( wich includes: 30-60 min of gaming, about 30min here on xda and in the browser, and some light checking on FB and Twitter) with half the battery. But i hear; that if this is used as a workers phone, it will just last a day. Having a charger is smart.
2. There is no custom roms whatsoever. But we seem to have someone working on a rom based in 2nd init
3. I HAVE gotten over 16000 in antutu benchmark once. Witch is conciderably higher that the highest one x score ive seen( havent really cared that much) and it is just slightly weaker that the S3. Games run smooth as googles project butter.
4. The long-waited Jb update seem to come in the period 8-10th january. Howewer it may come as late as early feb

Hello guys
I want to know how much better is Snapdragon s4 compared with Intel's Medfield
1st Google search result...
http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/18/motorolas-razr-i-benchmarks-intel-2ghz-medfield
But in reality the RAZR is pretty snappy, very fast in daily usage.

Better is the key word...you might be more interested in benchmarks or actual phone use. I don't use benchmarks any more. The RAZR i is a great example of a phone that doesn't have the best benchmarks but in day-to-day use it competes perfectly with some of the phones with 'faster' CPUs. If you Google comparisons with other phones they say that in real usage, you cannot spot a different with a typical dual-core 1.5 / 1.7. This is one of the reasons I don't use bencmarks any more. Theory is theory, not life.
Note that the Medfield chip is the first phone with hyperthreading - it simulates multiple cores by doubling the amount of calculations sent to the CPU. Also, the review posted above quotes the Medfield as being more power efficient, resulting in one extra hour of battery life than the M.
An XDA member has made a comparison of usage here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921838
Razr i rockz!! I had s2,iPhone 3g,4, bold 9900, xperia z, xperia Ray and Galaxy nexus....

Hi
Before buying the Razr i did a lot of research between Sony's developer friends since I attended much of the development forum Sony. So my developer friends do not like a single core processor. They say that Android works better with more amounts of nuclei. My doubt was whether the Xperia S was better than the Razr i. Some people say that the Xperia S is better, but I can say I bought Razr ie the Intel is very good, but it is good even super powerful and does not lack ... It was like our friend said maybe your reference points in is not as high, but for a mobile use everyday regarding games, internet browsing everything i Razr cell phone is great. The battery on Intel Android is a revolution has high consumption. In Xperia S saw many complaints that the battery is not even 1 day of use. And with my Razr i I move a lot and play a lot and the battery has 2 days of shelf life
How is battery life ? on screen time ? on Android 8 vs 9
what the he***, many seen this post but no one comment ? really ?
It's optimized.
I have been using this phone for almost a year. It gives me an easy 12 hours of life.
I usually -- scroll Instagram, watch youtube, listen to Music & bit gaming. Mostly I'm always on headphones.
After the upgraded to android 9, I didn't see any huge difference or drain in the battery. The Samsung Updates have become a lot better and the phone is really worth every penny you spent.
Good afternoon.
I'm interested in a L29 and I don't know whether to buy it second-hand because the battery issue scares me, so from my experience there are two factors that I think are crucial to get the maximum battery life, let me know if someone could reach 6h of screen or more.
One of them is to get the lightest ROM possible, I currently have on a nubia z17 mini, lineage OS with Oreo 8.1.0 and it is the best version I have found to save battery. I think from android v8, whole new versions of android penalize the battery a lot. What do you think about it?
The second is to underclock the processor, it needs to be rooted, but there is a noticeable difference in consumption even if the phone is a little slower. Is it possible on the L29 to do this? Does anyone have experience.
All the best.
Thank you.
up!!
