My phone gives me the "internal storage is 75% full" from time to time.
Recently, I recorded something on my phone, and the message popped up. So, I clicked it and selected to transfer all photos and videos (which were taking up most of the space apparently) to my micro SD card.
I have a 32 gig micro sd card for my Z1. At the time...there was less than 10 gigs used up. SO, PLENTY of extra space.
When I transferred the content to my SD card, suddenly, I couldn't find some precious pictures/videos in my GALLERY.
. I have used ROOT MANAGER (I have a rooted phone), to copy my DCIM folder from my phone internal storage, and copied EVERYTHING to my micro SD card (which means ALL photos/videos), and chosen to "skip" any duplicates. I did this in hopes the video file I am desperately looking for might have now found its way to my micro SD card.
. I have physically removed the micro SD card and placed it in an SD card reader/adapter, and put that in my computer to try and find the .MOV video file. But, that has also been unsuccessful.
. I tried using EASE USdata recovery wizard (computer program) in an attempt to find and recover the possibly lost video file, but it has proven unsuccessful.
Does anyone have any feedback on anything I may have missed? Is there a directory I'm missing as to where this video file may be?
Thanks in advance for your help!
. Nina

gparted errors when creating NF uSD card

So I downloaded the Nookie Froyo v0.6.8 8GB card image, extracted it, and dd'ed the image to my 8GB Sandisk Class-2 uSD. Everything worked as expected, I was able to mount the card after creating it, and my NC booted w/o issue. The ROM ran pretty well, but was a little slow at times. After doing some research here, I ordered a 8GB Transcend Class-6 uSD card with the expectation that the faster card would perform better. I followed the same procedure, dd'ed the image to the new card, however after that was complete I saw the following output in gparted

I am unable to mount any of the partitions, however the NC boots on the card. Performance seems similar to the Class-2 card, and I periodically have force closure problems with basic apps (Email, Walpapers, etc). Could this be related? Should I have done something different with the Class-6 card vs the Class-2? I've already tried wiping the card, formatting it all as one big FAT32, and then re-dd'ing the data with the same result as above.
Edit: For example, it just force closed Time and Date while I was trying to change the timezone.
Okay, after booting off of the card I am able to insert it into my machine and mount all the partitions just fine. Does the NC do something to the file systems?
Okay, everything was fine but now all apps are FC'ing when I try to launch them. I think there's a problem here. It seems like it all starts with a force close message from Google Services Framework (com.google.process.gapps), then all hell breaks loose.
I have similiar problem on my patriot 16gb class 10 microSDHC card.
Have you found any solutions?

[Q] Moving Apps to SD Card: Memory Usage

Hi,
I am currently on ICSSGS RC4.2. Recently i was trying out the app apps2SD. I dont have any external micro SD card. I somehow remember when I had tried to do this on GB, clicking on "Move to SD Card" button in "Manage Applications" used to give me an error, and i assumed it is obviously because i dont have an external SD Card.
Now on ICS, i tried "Move to SD Card" and it actually worked.
Now i had certain doubts regarding the attached screenshot. What all does each head under the STORAGE section mean?

Total - Total memory used by the app
App - Memory used on the android system storage (My Guess)
USB Storage app - Memory used on the internal SD Card (My Guess)
Data - Additional memory used on the android system storage (My Guess)
SD Card - This should ideally be zero,coz any memory used on the internal USB storage should have been covered under the head "USB Storage app".
Can anyone clarify? Also, if I now insert an external SD card, will ICS ever move the app data to external SD? Coz currently the "SD Card" head above is already showing some memory used. Where would the external SD card figure, if at all.
Thanks.
Apps are moved from /datadata to /sdcard, not to the µSD .

Weird Storage internal/external issue. me alone ?

Dedoxed stock ics.
Since that past week and a half, I have notice in the phones gallery has been acting up.
for what ever reason the stock gallery has alot of error triangles where pics show be but the actual pics also show in the row beside it.

}
and i cant see the pics from my external sd card from when I select that folder in the stock gallery. but they view correctly in the all photos folder.
and it gets weirder
the camera is set to save to the phones internal storage (sd)
i just took some pics and that dont show up in any folder in the stock gallery : internal or external. But it show when i connect to my pc, i find them in the DCIM .thumbnail folder ... WTH ?
and it gets weirder still .. . the pics that are saved on my external pics show up on my pc as just the windows image thumbnail and the pc detects the pics as un-view-able and show that as being 0 bytes.
i have changed anything on the phone whether apps or flashes for months now, so nothing new to cause this...
also when i use ES explores the pics show properly...
i am clueless right now.
I would try a dirty reflash of your ROM...
If that scares you... try just wiping cache and dalvik cache

Yea so um do a reflash

Android Bug? More memory used than available. Not enough space error. KitKat.

Hello, this is really bugging me, I was hoping to have 8GB memory for apps and 32GB on my SD for obb's and stuff like that but Android 4.4 has the useless virtual SD card feature so the internal storage quickly fills up.
As far as I know, there is no app in the Google Play store that installs itself on the external SD card. But I read that you can copy the maps from TomTom to the external SD card to the Android/data/ folder. So I did that and it worked, freeing up allmost 3gb of internal storage space on my phone (Good news till here). But with the time the internal storage filled up and I reached a moment that I couldn't even update any app because Android was telling me that I don't have enough space. I looked in Settings > Storage and there was still 600MB free internal space, but the Applications bar was overflowing the graph as if there were no more space left.
Here is a screen shot [Note: Apps are taking more space than internal space is available?]:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I guess that this is what is causing the wrong "Not enough space" message. Clearing the cache from Google Services and Google Play Store sometimes helps if there is still more than 600 MB left, but now I'm completely stuck with 480MB and I cannot even update a 6MB app.
Does somebody know how to fix this? Is it me or every new Android version that comes out is just a worse better looking crap..?
Greetings.
INFO: I haven't rooted anything on my phone so everything is just stock.

I maybe wrong, but those look suspiciously like data corruption files.... Is your phone hanging/crashing suddenly? Have you lost certain files in your sdcard?
This has happened with me too.. Just format your memory card from a windows pc
I tried
I formatted SD card but these files appearing again. I don't have any issues like hanging phone, application close, restarting. etc.

If these files have appeared you after deleting any file stored on the microSD with the ES Explorer app, you can be running under KK do not have write permission and does not send it to the trash or leaving a log after the destruction. To my passing me something like, the solution was a Xposed module called "KitKat SD Card Full Access"
