[No PC] knox/kingroot/flashfire/TWRP/signed rom/firmware/ - Galaxy Tab S General

Dear XDA Dev's and members,
*For those of us who don't own a personal computer.
After rooting lollipop with KINGROOT now it's time to install a custom recovery.
Without a PC could I flash a custom recovery like TWRP with flashfire and will this trip knox?
The goal would be to flash a custom recovery then flash a signed Rom or Samsung firmware with knox not tripped.
Lastly could I flash a custom firmware with the stock android recovery manager?
Thanks...
-Ahmed-

Twrp no if you want to keep knox, yes if you don't care about knox, rom yes, with stock recovery no.

Unroot from app, or flash a stock rom

What does and does not trip knox?

Does not trip KNOX
Pingpongroot
Does trip KNOX
CF-Autoroot
Installing custom recovery
Installing custom ROM
Installing xposed for samsung, as it requires deodexed rom
What about editing build.prop? Anything else I'm missing?
I believe as long as you do not flash a custom recovery or a custom kernel you're fine. Pretty sure custom roms are ok as long as you do not flash the kernel

Thought flashify could do it too, not sure
OP
Trip: custom recovery or kernel
Not trip: anything else
You just have to understand what you flash or do and it's process. For example, cf-auto-root trips Knox because it flashes a temporary recovery to gain root access

Root a 6.01 with no recovery.

Is there a way to root a stock 6.01 that no longer has root and a working recovery? (Slim Rom 1.3 killed them both)

You could use Flashtool to put an older rom on the phone, root that, install recovery and flash a more recent rom. It will mean losing your current rom though.

OK thanks - that's helpful. so currently it's a downgrade , root, install recovery and then install a rom from recovery.

Pretty much.
Or downgrade, root, flash an upgrade and install recovery. Either way, a downgrade is probably required.

How to Install Korean 6.0.1 Samsung touchwiz Marshmallow to T700

Ok what you need to do is download the tool SAMFIRM in the general thread. fill in the model and region which will be SM-T700 and KOO in region section . wait for it to download once it says decrypt finished extract tar from zip with winrar then flash tar in Odin. Once odin has flashed it then tab reboots put it into stock recovery, hold home button volume up and power button together and hold for 4/5 seconds then let go. wipe data factory reset then let it boot. Enjoy
Why the need to wipe data/reset? Samsung stock upgrades are always compatible with the previous data.
It was bootlooping

Most likely just needed dalvik wiping.
I would dirty flash, boot then wipe data only if necessary.
Factory reset was the first option I seen in stock recovery. Not used to being in stock recovery normally twrp
I am trying to flash it with Flashfire due to keep rooted.
Had to to wipe factory reset from recovery.
Good Lock works fine, but appears a little thin
Just reroot after flashing via Odin if flash fire don't work
Guys,sorry for the noobish question,
do you confirm I can eventually get back to my lollipop ROM with a full TWRP backup after flashing MM?
If you've backed it up on a external device then yes sure. You will need to reroot after flashing this though.

Sorry but what root do you use, the old chainfire root for Lollipop?
Yes I'm sure cf auto root works. I haven't tried it but t805 users have so it should work.

TWRP,Supersu and Xposed working :good:.
(got the following message whenever I enter the recovery: "recovery is not seandroid enforcig"..still it doens't seems to affect anything )
Here is what I did in case some newcomer like me is asking:
1) flashed the rom with odin and booted in
2)flashed twrp with odin (the one kindly provided by Ashyx here TWRP)
3)flashed supersu with twrp (SuperSU)
4)flashed xposed 86.0 sdk23 arm from wanam's thread with twrp (here)
Any idea about the "recovery is not seandroid enforcig" thing?
Does anyone know if its possible to enable adoptive storage in this?

It means nothing. The Tab S didn't support this warning until MM, so nothing was required to remove it.
It's trivial for me to remove it, but more hassle than its worth considering it means nothing.
I actually prefer to have it as it clearly indicates Iam booting into recovery.

Can I install Xposed using Odin?

Hai! I'm new here so if this isn't the place to put it so sorry!
Anyways so I've always wanted to install Xposed, but there are always things getting in my way, until I saw a Xposed file that would work for me perfectly! But I don't have an recovery, the tutorial I took just made me use Odin, but I am rooted with busybox. (if that's important.) Anyways so I saw how to install an custom recovery, then I saw you had to unlock your bootloader, I had to google how to check if it was unlocked and it wasn't, so I then googled how to unlock bootloader and saw you had to delete your files. Now even if I get to backup and restore, I don't like factory resetting things. Until I remembered Odin, I googled it and saw it could flash. So i'm wondering...
Can I installed Xposed using Odin? Or atleast flash an custom recovery to it using Odin without unlocking my bootloader?
Here is my tablet's stats.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A Lollipop 5.0.2 Rooted (Busybox Installed.) Stock Rom Touchwiz SM-T350

You should install the framework zip via custom recovery only.
1) Flash TWRP (or CWM or Philz or whatever is available for your device) in Odin
2) Reboot into recovery mode and you will be in this new custom recovery you just put on
3) Flash the xposed framework
4) ?????????
5) Profit!
