Hi, now that the Z1s has root and recovery working, is there any chance to port the kitkat for international version to the Z1s without bricking the device?
I just bought a new Sony Xperia Z1S for my daughter but I don't see Z1S in this forum. Would it be the same as Z1 ? If I need to root the the phone, can i use the resource from this Z1 forum.

you have to root and install recovery from 14.4.B.0.37 without deodexing the system then update via OTA to 14.4.B.0.56 , then you should be all set, easyroot works for 14.4.B.0.37 btw, and lockedbootloader dual recovery by nutt

Also bought a Xperia Z1S but, I must be install dual recovery and install any ROM for Locked Bootlaoder? Or not is possible?

roms might be possible, ive installed a few for the z1 on my z1s but got no cell radio or wifi, too lazy to look into it, btw i kept stock kernel as well

I need help with rooting and installing the newset cyanogenmod on my xperia Z1
It's a c6906 from Canada orignially from Bell Mobile
The bootloader cannot be unlocked in this variant.
It came with 4.4 firmware and I upgraded through Sony to 5.0.2
I can't figure out how to bypass the boot loader access to install a custom recovey and the latest Cyanogenmod with android 5.1 or later..

I have bought a used xperia z1 docomo so 01f. It's the same as any other Z1 except it's from a japanese carrier. It is running on jellybean 4.2.2, i wish to upgrade it to lollipop 5.1.1.
OTA is not working obviously. I can't seem to find much help regarding the upgrade on the internet either.
I'm now thinking about flashing a american carrier rom on it via flash tool (atnt, tmobile, etc). Would that work?
Otherwise the other option would be to flash a lollipop custom rom...
Any help would be appreciated.
