G800-Y Network Unlock via root - Galaxy S5 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm wondering if there is any way to disable a network lock (carrier lock) via editing any system files or use of an app on a rooted device?
I've had some real troubles using online services and the next step (if this doesn't work) will be expensive!
Thanks,
jt

[Q] Galaxy S GT-I9000T Latin - "Network lock" screen

Hey!
So I used the android SGS unlock app on my Galaxy S GT-I9000T Latin (2.1), and it gave me an unlock code no problem. But when I reboot it with my Rogers (canada) sim card in, it shows me a "network lock" screen with just one "dismiss" button. No option to enter the unlock code.
Anybody know how to get the unlock screen to show on this model?
Thanks for the help, dudes.
Update: tried the *7465625*638*# thing, nothing happens.
I am experiencing the same problem...

Any ideas?
Thanks to vnamee and helroz for detailled instructions for the Samsung Vibrant Firmware JI6, Just did this on my GT-I9000T and it works great.
Here are the steps to perform the unlock:
You will need root and busybox and something to edit the root, such as Root Explorer or ADB, I used Super Manager, You will need Java on your PC as well.
1) Copy the EFS folder with Root Explorer or ADB to back up
2) In /efs, delete:
nv_data.bin.md5
.nv_data.bak (you may not have this)
.nv_data.bak.md5 (you may not have this)
nv_data.JPC (you may not have this)
nv_data.JPC.md5 (you may not have this)
.nv2.bak (you may not have this)
.nv2.bak.md5 (you may not have this)
3) Reboot your phone and navigate to /efs to see if nv_data.bin.md5 is created. If it is, you are good to go. If you go there right after the phone boots, it may not have been created yet.
4) Put your phone in USB debug mode and connect via USB to computer.
5) Run step 2.bat (this will extract nv_data.bin to your computer)
6) Run reparation_nv_data.jar (I guess you just enter any 8 digit number in the boxes that will be your unlock code. I had entered '00000000'.
7) Run Step 4.bat (this will upload the files to your phone. Make sure the phone is on and when you run it, make sure to keep pressing 'allow' so the program has root access to push the files to your root).
8) After this is done, you can answer 'n' if there were no errors and it should reboot your phone. Phone should be unlocked.
How can be possible that i can be root in the phone shell and apps, but when i want to su in ADB, i get Permission Denied?

That's happening because you probably haven't rooted the phone yet. Thats why you are getting permission denied. Use 4zroot, thats the easiest way to root it.
where is the script
I have the same problem and I tried everything except this script that I don't find.
Please can you tell me where it is ?
still Network lock
I just try the script and still lock. Is this phone locked for ever ? Is that possible ?
Should I try to install a new system on the ROM ?
Network Lock [OFF]
I have
Network Lock [OFF]
but I still can't unlock it.
step 2, step4
After I choose "Wipe cache partition" then I reboot and still "Network Lock" with one choice: Dismiss
I have tried Galaxy S Unlock and SGS Unlock Tool (Pro also), superuser BusyBox, what else...
Why this is so different that what I see on the internet. Is the Telnet (Mexico) Samsung so efficiently locked by the company ?
Serious question: what's next option for me ?
Please help
thanks
Not working, something strange
After trying everything
I have something strange:
If I launch Galaxy S Unlock app
and ask to see Sim Unlock Code
I have a message box
in French(?)
Votre Réponse
Unlock code is: simunloc
Unfreeze code is: unfreeze
if you have FFFFFFFF code,
must use any step 2 for unlock
Something is then locking the phone network over regular code thing....
any idea ?
The GT-I9000T must have a other protection layer somewhere in the software (or hardware ?).
This screen with Network Lock Dismiss seems to be unique in this phone.
Is there a genius around able to find the trick ? Thank you.
Did you really unlock your phone with this ? It doesn't work for me. Telcel probably.
Only way to unlock Telcel's Samsung Android phone is to flash a new fw. The Sim lock is integrated in Telcels FW.
I had to flash my S5830L Galaxy Ace to insert a Movistar SIM.
Sorry - thats the only way.
guidance with flashin my samsung galaxy
Hey unu$ual I am mexican too. I have also tried to unlock to my telcel samsung galaxy s with no success... so far. I have rooted the device, installed the busybox app and Samsung_s unlock app. At the end of the procedure, when i tried with the *#7465625# command it says the Network lock is [off], but when i restart it the annoying message "Network locked, Dismiss" appears.
So, i think i want to follow your advice and I´ll have to flash it with a new fw. Any advice? I'd appreciate if you can share with me the software, firmware version that you used, and if possible the procedure.
Thanks in advance.
Peace up!

Network Lock
Anyone find a way to network unlock. I'm on Claro Guatemala and want to unlock and upgrade the ROM. I have the code but I get the famous "lock screen"
Which 3rd party firmware works on Telcel/Claro I9000T?
Ok, it's been a few months since the last post here, so I'll give it a try. I am ready to try a 3rd party firmware on my Claro I9000T but I would like to confirm which firmware works with full 3G+ AND gets rid of the network lock screen.
Has anyone been succesful?

I honestly do not know if you need the SIM card or not to access the market which will allow you to get the "Galaxy S Unlock" app. I have tried the "Galaxy S Unlock" app before but I could never get it working (with stock FW and Stock FW + Root). Im pretty sure that you cannot use that app once you update from Stock FW to Stock FW + JH7 (the original "GPS fix" back in Sept). However, the way I got my unlock code was the following steps:
1) Go back to complete stock FW using the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
2) Root the device using the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739304&highlight=click+root
3) Get your unlock code using the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=761751
This may be the long method but this is the only way I have ever gotten my unlock code. But then again, once I got my unlock code, I never tried to get it again. The above steps that I took did not require a AT&T sim card at all.
I hope that helps.
Hey! Even i got this phone from United States to India and now even i m in a fix that how do i unlock. please tell me did u manage to unlock the phone?

i check all version but not work right now running
Android version : 4.1.2
Build version: 1.08.502.1 CL180011 Release-keys
Baseband : 1.15.40.00.13_2_10.64.40.33AL
I have found MEDUSA v1.0 is the least flawed of all the available. It's far from ideal but it is dependable.
CWM and S-OFF your device and give Medusa v1.0 a shot and try out the wicked 7-23 dated 1.728ghz kernel!
No tethering yet but there appears to be a way to mod it to get it to work manually editing files.

i checked but not working any other solution i flash that rom which u write up there
any other way or any other modification ?
I have the ATT unlocked version of the First. Rooted, S-off, Wifi tethering app, set to profile wlan0, I think i had to enable one of the checkboxes for reloading wifi-driver or it would stay stuck on or off and wouldn't toggle nicely, but for me the problem was I could connect to the wifi, but get no data through.
Turns out the carrier is blocking all the public DNS servers (so if you knew the actual IP address of a website, you could go there but clicking on virtually any link would get you nowhere since they are associated with additional url's and not IP addresses.
Fix was to uncheck the box on my laptop that says automatically retrieve DNS settings and manually set the preferred DNS server to whatever your phone uses (which there are apps on the marketplace that display the information). Make sure when getting your phones DNS info you are using the cellular connection and not the wifi. If you are tethering from mobile device to another, say a tablet then you'll need another app (for said tablet) that lets you change the devices DNS settings (not sure but that might also require root).
I just noticed that the wifi tether app i am using also has DNS settings but I haven't messed with that.
The app I used to get my carriers DNS was CompruebaIP
hopes this help, I found this on some obscure forum post after hours of searching and it solved my problem.
Wifi tether - telephony.db files
Not sure if this will help.
I created two telephony.db files which can be renamed-pasted to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
Should eliminate the wifi tether check. Attached is the zip.
Make sure:
1. Get a backup copy of your current telephony.db
2. You rename the replacement file you use to telephony.db before copying.
3. Phone is rooted.
Also please let me know if this helps

No Wifi - Mobile | No unlocked boot loader nor root | How to fix?

Hi everyone,
I got a used Mi8 which cannot establish internet connection. Neither via wifi nor mobile. After having read in the internet a while I assume that modem configuration is damaged. I should either replace some files using adb superuser or repair by flashing a rom / having root access. As mentioned above the phone's boot loader is locked and I do not have root access.
Unlock via XIAOMI:
I know that Xiaomi helps unlocking the phone if user really wants to. Problem is: This process requires an internet connection on the phone in order to verify phone with my user account. So now unlock using this way so far.
Help needed
Anyone has a clever idea / intruction how I can either get root access / unlock bootloader or fix my broken modem on the phone itself? Thanks in advance for any hint!
Best, Maxo
